Then Fed found out very quickly how good Nadal was on clay and in the back of the head the stress of what Nadal was on clay weighed on Federer mentally. Obviously completing the career slam was a goal Roger would’ve completed as soon as ‘04 if not for clay not being his favorite surface. How big of a pest was Nadal to Federer?
