I don't know how useful it is as in reproducing the EQ, but the general ideas are interesting for your own explorations. I also like small changes so moved away from lets AutoEQ random sets and see what pops out.
@@PaulWasabii as you say, hearing the thinking and logic behind the adjustment choices is really valuable. Mechanically using auto eq is easy enough for most.
Not that surprising if you look at the bass curve. Q1Pro is really clean though and that is why gamers tend to flock to Zero and Chu. You don't want boomy bass, but that clarity to pick up and localize sounds.
@@PaulWasabii I'm getting bored with the 500LM, and actually find LM is a little hot for long hour listening or as a cheap daily driver in general (I use them on PC). Would Q1 pro be a calmer and comfortable budget pair to get for what I'm looking for? Was thinking the CCA hydro, or the mega5est/new i/o audio volare to explore higher end stuff.
People buy Wan'er and say they love the sound, but shells feel cheap. Q1 Pro fixes that as the shells are quite nice. If you don't care, go with the cheaper one.
I play with eq with just about every IEM, just for fun. Enjoying this addition Paul 😊 this graphs nearly identical to Wyvern with this having slightly more energy in highs. Do they actually sound as close as they graph? Currently have Wyvern auto Eq'd to Gaea profile and it sounds amazing. Gives it just that little oomph that it needed. The driver is really good.
They are all relatively similar, more so if you EQ. At the high level, you are slightly changing the balance, that is what Wyvern does in the treble. Wyvern was a nice one too, went under the radar mostly
No idea, I use Foobar for music on my PC. I would just look at the slider frequency values and find those that are closest to your EQ. There really isn't any magical solution other than re-creating it.
Great review Paul! I'm considering the DSP version of this for someone who has really small ears and has issues with almost every IEM xD I think i read somewhere this is 5.6mm nozzle. Is that correct? and would you recommend it to someone with small ears? or would you recommend any alternatives?
I don't know of my ears are a good measure, but i can say that these are fairly small compared to others and fit perfectly. One thing i would tell you is to go for the normal cable one and buy a good dac, cause if you loose the dac... You will have to buy another cable
@@ArielGonzalez1 thank you! that’s helpful 🙂 unfortunately i am looking for someone who does not want any dongle dacs protruding 😅 so i might have to go for dsp version
Nice review but we have many similar tunings.I would like to see a HM 20 mids type of tuning with better bass and technicalities. There are not many iems like this and the funny thing is that this exactly midrange is very close to Senn's Orpheus..
Hey Paul, I was looking at these Q1 Pro's and the Moondrop Lan's for male vocals. Would you be able to recommend 1 for crisp, clear, natural vocals that are slightly energetic? For reference, they are both about the same price right now. Thanks 👍
That's be Lan but also recognize that male vocals are not a Chifi specialty. What works in Lan's favor is slightly less upper mids. Don't be afraid to try EQ, it is what has to be done for male vocals usually.
What do you mean by "The center of the gravity is shifted to the right"? does that mean you can hear little more on the right side? or something else going on? please explain sir..
Sorry no, I mean it is slightly bright on the balance. That is why if you look at the EQ image, a few treble sliders are ticked down as I like a longer listening session to be fatigue free.
Is this an upgrade to Castor Bass? I kinda prefer little more forward voice and better midrange and cleaner treble which is missing from my Castor. Also if it is any better than Wan'er SG. I probably will buy it just because how beautiful it looks for such a price!
Yes, good chance it will be better for you. That Castor treble gets on you which is why people started picking up Trio. Similar but better DD treble. But yeah, just moving the bass level down to Q1P level will sound cleaner. And yes, the build is very nice for the price.
Hi Paul, now i have the BLON Z300, and if I want to add to my collection with a different sound signature, should I buy the Tin HiFi C3 or the EPZ Q1 Pro? Thanks
Yeah, too close. Comes down to cleanliness. Q1 Pro will be a bit leaner in the bass, that sounds cleaner. C3 is like many other sets like Cadenza, more fun, a bit more bass and that can be the one complaint, wish C3 or Cadenza had less midbass, a tighter sound. That is Q1 Pro. But that isn't good or bad, if you like a warmer, smoother sound which is great, that is C3.
Hello i just got into iem world, and unfortunately my first purchase is not suit me well (I bought KZ Castor bass. for me its too much bass sometimes i got dizzy) do you have a recommendation for the same price or under 70$ (mostly listening to j-rock genre and a little bit of metal) thanks in advance
Nah, I wouldn't own both unless the shell on Zero doesn't agree with you. I would say the same on Chu, no need to get Zero unless the fit is off. The 3 sets are too close to own them all
Epz is more like the brighter Chu and Zero. Nuo will sound a bit more relaxed, basically better for people who didn't like Zero or Chu lighter in weight sound
Part of it is in the title, Q1P sounds faster and cleaner due to less midbass and slight more treble. Nuo, more balanced, a bit more meat in the low end and relaxed the treble. Not far from my EQ. If you like pop music, music with more bass, probably Nuo. If you don't care about bass, just want it to not affect the mids, that is closer to Q1P
Nah, you are going to hear slight tuning differences, not like there is suddenly more or less resolution. Zero is quite good in that respect for the price.
That is just Foobar2000 on my PC. It has an Equalizer plugin which is what you see. Dirt simple and I just tweak it while listening and answering questions on my PC.
I used to use fancy zippered earphone cases. Then I was using those multi drawer units such as for storing nuts and bolts. Now I put them back in the box, put them into a storage bin.
Nice review as always, thank you Paul!
Super useful to hear you breakdown your approach to the eq!

@@PaulWasabii as you say, hearing the thinking and logic behind the adjustment choices is really valuable. Mechanically using auto eq is easy enough for most.
Epz Q1 pro for me is a better ew200 and trn conch. A tier above in term of resolution and surprisingly cleaner than ew200.

Great review Paul, I think I need a little more body to my soul…if you get my drift..Micheal Bruce has spoiled me..!
Yeah same here. I had to add a little in EQ. It is hard to listen to these sets that are all front side, no body.
Thanks for the eq. recommendation.
Just a rec and based on what I like so take it as a starting point on where to start poking sliders.
These and the Wan'er SG have really good tuning, should I go for these or save the money and get the Wan'er SG?

how to transfer you EQ to Steelseries GG EQ, do you have any detail documentation for the EQ? Sry for my beginner question.

Yes, too many similar tunings, especially within the 1DD sets. They are basically different flavors than tunings.
How does the Q1 Pro do compared to KZ ZSN Pro 2?
Q1 Pro is like 7hz Zero or Moondrop Chu. ZSNP2 is more V shaped, more energy at both ends, more bass, more treble. More fun to some people
@PaulWasabii oh that's cool. Thank you ♥️
Nice review Sir! I have these and like them. What Eq are you using?
Foobar on my PC which has an Equalizer plugin. Its nothing fancy, just easier to tweak at my desk than on my phone
I like warm smooth musical iems, this or the cadenza?
Cadenza is closer

Q1 Pro or 7hz Zero. C3 or the latest warm set, Kefine Delci.

The first IEMs Ive bought like a month or so was the Chu 2, in your opinion these sound better ?
Nah, too close to Chu which was just less bass than Chu 2

Which one better? Chu2 or q1 pro
Q1 Pro is closer to Chu 1. Chu 2 has more bass if that is what you are looking for.

Better? Different style. Trio is a warmer style, Q1P is a bit leaner.
