Beautiful. I have one that was given to me by my father when I received my Eagle Scout. It has three pins. I still have the original sheath and box that it came in. It means a lot to have a piece like this that was made in the USA.
I have an LB7 that my wife gifted me on our 5 year anniversary in December, 1981. Three pins. I’ve never worn or sharpened it. Still in the original box with Loss Warranty papers and other paper stuff. The Loss Warranty was that if you lost your LB7, Schrade will send you a new replacement, no questions asked. Without question, the LB7 (USA made) beats the Buck 110 hands down. The details in quality workmanship, utility, and aesthetics could not be matched by Buck. I wish “Schrades” were still made in the USA, or at least, if made elsewhere, the manufacturers would use better steels, etc.. I know they can, but profit margins don’t allow for it.
Methinks I got mine in '95 as a catalog pick for my 20th year work anni. SS pin is set back farther, and blade stamp is 3 lines. Uncle Henry over Schrade+ over LB7 USA which half obscured by front bolster. I pocket carried for a bit and mostly camping as I didn't wear a belt. But it got too heavy in the pocket annoyance. Fine fit 'n finish knife near as furniture, loving the smoothed over pins vs a 110. ima seeing your last vid is a year ago. Hopes you 'n yourn are doing well.
They sold those in the ship's store on the ship I was stationed on while in the Navy back in '91. I have one now with staglon handle I used when I was part of the ambulance crew while still in the service.
Mine is 026938, 3 pin as well. I was given mine by my father in the mid 90s. I don’t think he used it very long but he definitely acquired it already used.
I got my Uncle Henry buck knife when I was hunting whitetail in Kentucky around 1984 and that has three pins. I still polish and sharpen that baby here in my home in Aberdeen Scotland and think about those fun but cold November days in the USA. We've got deer hunting here too but it's probably 10 times the price.
I have the Old timer Skinner, and my brother-in-law bought me the six OT about 20 years ago maybe more, and I just ordered the old timer six piece carving tool
There nice knives I've had a few Lb7 Lockbacks over the years I still have 2 schrade + Uncle Henry knives usa made I know this is a old video but I have a question on one Lb7 the silver pin is in the middle of the handle on the other lb7 the silver pin is more up on the knife any info would be helpful and both knives are 3 pins thanks 😊
Mine has three pins, including the one for the lock bar pivot, and no serial number. I've also read about, and seen one picture of a different version of the the spring for the lock bar that used two spacers shaped like the rear bolsters. Supposedly those are prone to breaking.
so many 110s snapped the tip...inferior steel. Schrade used better steel... mine is 4 pin #542679 with black leather sheath...great working knife. Practical...feels good, and good looking. Schrade was a great company.
Mine is labeled AZ12506. It is a very well built and finished knife. If you have contact info I can send pictures of the knife and original sheath. Great video, Thanks
Buck 110 hands down i just think its a better design it ways less the handles are more rounded these days and shorter than the schrades and it still has slightly more cutting edge than the schrades. I've got this the case hammerhead and a couple buck 110s and the buck is in most ways i can see better imho.
In 2004 you could buy the Buck 110 for $39.00. I wonder if Schrade discounted the $63.00 price back then. The 110 weighs 7.3 oz and the LB7 7.9 oz. It's a toss up, my LB7 feels a little more solid and has zero blade play. Both of my 110's have just a little wiggle.
Mine just like the picture, on idea when I brought it. Had it for years sheath is long gone usually carry it in my back pocket. The serial # G811, any idea what year it is, had it so long just don't remember.
I was given a 3 pin for Christmas in the early 90's. My understanding is that Schrade stopped serial numbering these knives in 1989-90. Also, I think the change to three pin handle happened in 1984, not 1991. I didn't think much of the LB7 when I first got it, but when I started using it, I quickly assessed what a great knife it is. I've acquired at least 40 more knives since then, but few of them eclipse the LB7 as an all round hunting blade.
Mines a 3 pin. I've got all original paperwork all original packaging. Original leather belt case. Never been used and never been sharpened. New in the box and bought it new in the box years and years ago so original owner. You can have it just gimme a PO box. Also have a Old Timer schrade USA made never touched.
I have a 1980 Schrade Uncle Henry Lb7 serial number 09240. My father bought if for me as a Christmas present, I was 27 at the time. It is still in great condition, and although I do have a Buck 110, I prefer it over that. The question I have though, is that Years later I bought a post 2004 Uncle Henry Schrade LB7. I believe it was made by the Taylor corporation, and while I know nowadays they are made in China, mine has the USA stamped at the base of the blade. Am I right in assuming that it is a USA made knife?
I have an early 1980s Schrade LB7 serial number 014930. In the rosewood area it has 2 brass pins & 1 stainless steel pin. My brother had a hardware store & stocked those back in that timeframe.. My sheath is ragged. Anyone have a link for a new Schrade sheath that fits the LB7?
I found a similar looking knife in my grandfather's closet and I've been trying to identify the brand but this is the closest thing to it that I found, same brass same wood color except that the brass part is pointy and it has 2 blades, one similar to this and the 2nd is a saw with a can opener thingy on the axis. If anyone has any idea what it is please let me know.
Look at the six OT, the brass has factory scratch marks on them everyone that’s the way they made them they were very crude, you need to polish them up yourself with some sandpaper and compound
I think your information is incorrect. I was told many three-pins are still available with original paperwork, and made many many years before what you stated. Look at the serial numbers. Letters were added starting in 1980.
That’s why people want the buck 110 because it was half the price and it was the original lock back, I had one of those I took some wet sandpaper and I polish those bolsters up like I was in the army or something
mosquitoes are Alaska's state bird:) lol..here you cannot breath without sucking them in. there has been documented case's of people and animals who have gone "nuts" without repellent. I used to do survey line cutting and know this first hand:) lower 48 has nothing compared to here:)
lol You have my sympathy! I can see them driving people nuts for sure. How about blackflies? do you guys get them over there? We get them until it gets hot out too.

I recently found my great grandpa's Schrade knife
My dad bought one n I use it whenever I go hiking it never failed me

Started making them in 1977 from what my serial number says on mine which I inherited from My late father which starts with CA
I am sitting in fort Lauderdale, sipping coffee and relaxing watching your vid. Great vid man. Very peaceful and informative
Thank you very much! I try to keep them kinda mellow and share what I can find out about them. Thanks again.
Extremely peaceful, which is a valuable trait. Like this knife it’s an increasingly rare skill
They were once guaranteed against lost.
Yes I think I still have the form they supplied with mine in case of loss
Bought one in 1988, it has served me well.
Great knife
Great video, great knife. Thank you!!!

Found mine while I was workin in a hotel left outside
I have a LB7 with 3 pins, and your dates must be off. I inherited my knife from my late father in 1987
Interesting, what serial number did yours have?
Mine is also 3 pin bought I bought in mid 80’s probably 84 serial number AY80457. I wonder why it is called 5 inch as the blade is more like 3.25 inch
L85260 stamped in the brass
I have a four-pin, however, my brass and handle look like they have smoothed down a lot, all the edges handle brass seem more rounded off.
I have the Old timer Skinner, and my brother-in-law bought me the six OT about 20 years ago maybe more, and I just ordered the old timer six piece carving tool

What steel does it have ? ...
x93400 is a 3 pin style - my knife for many years now - just shaved off some hair on the arm - good video !

Three pins and no serial number - it was built after 1990.
I have a 3 pin LB7 with the ser# V64632 and original sheath, I've had this knife for years, I want to say pre 1980 ?
No, three pin and serial number would put production between 1983 and 1990.

Sorry, sundance, not indian killing
Let's here it. What do you like better? The Schrade LB7? Or the Buck 110? And Go!
both:)
Good answer! Like trying to pick your favorite kid.
None. Both are very expensive. Nothing justify those prices!
