Yeah about the blindfolded... there is one person on TH-cam who is literally blind but managed to complete The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Incredible!
Nothing can stop you from enjoying video games :)
There's also a guy who beat dark souls 2 blindfolded.
I thought Falcon was going to mention that at some point.
The title said “most gamers” not all. Idk why some of you have such a hard time reading.

Falcon said “Base Pro Shop” for the fishing game hahaaa man his mispronunciations never end 😂

I stopped the video to comment this. Falcon literally knows nothing about the script he reads.
It's enough that I have a conspiracy theory he's doing it on purpose.
I was listening to it in the background and had to go back and was like... did he just..
@@k1ngk4gl3 that's what I think too. No way it's not deliberate
That’s why I gave up on Destiny, what I find impossible, as a gamer, is making enough friends to even start a raid.

To clarify for those unfamiliar with the games:
*DDR* is a dance simulator with 4 pads cross shaped ortogonally like a + sign. Has Japanese origin.
*Pump it Up* is a dance simulator with 5 pads shaped diagonally like a x sign. Has Korean origin.
glad im not the only one who noticed that
The disrespect to the guy who beat punch out blindfolded is ludicrous in this video, it took like 20+ years before someone did it 😂😂
EXACTLY! Sinister1 and zallard1 deserve much more credit.

Damn those scalpers.
One key point you missed with the blindfolded runs is how important sound cues are, just as much as muscle memory. 🎵 In blindfolded Super Mario 64, runners listen for sound effects that are inaudible to the average gamer, to help them navigate the randomized elements in the game that they can't predict.
For example, they beat-count the backing music to time jumps onto moving platforms & count the owl's wing flaps to know when to get Mario to let go! They even use 4 incredibly subtle variations of a single sound effect to know when to release Bowser from a spinning throw at the end of a stage. Super impressive! 👌😮
Back in the 80's I fed Dragon's Lair so much money I could play it blindfolded. I used audio queues in the music or sound effects to know what to do. Memorization helps too, but don't leave out those background details that aid you in your quests...
I'd say that one of the things a lot of played can't do (and I say it by experience) is playing a raid. Not beating a raid boss solo, just playing a raid, as it's supposed to be played with other people and there are people like me who is not part of a guild / squadron / clan / firearm or whatever...
I left about 30% of the first Destiny's contents untouched because of this
Playing dark souls with bananas is truely an elite gamer move
Thats bananas!
He shouldve led that catagory with that.
thats just bananas!
Yeah i'm not surprised the impossible chest made the list. That was absolutely ridiculous
Bass pros ( base pros). Come on man. It’s BASS pros. (Bas). 😂😂😡
2:28 Reminds me of the time I finished Final Fantasy 1 for the NES, then played it again choosing only White Wizards for all 4-of my players. It wasn't easy, but it was done, over about a year of real gameplay time. I felt like a hero when I did it.
Omg that blind run through. That’s incredible!! I can’t even imagine how much harder a blind run through must be when you don’t already have an image in your head as to how the level looks like which is how all of these other blind speed runners do this sort of stuff. Completing a run like this without having already seen the game and the level layouts is just absolutely amazing! I can’t even imagine being able to do that haha pfft I can’t even imagine doing a blind run through already knowing what the levels look like hahaha
Did Falcon really just say "BASE" Pro Shops?
Lmao no it’s 🎸pro shop lmao
I don't imagine Falcon is much of an outdoor person. haha
I lost my shit. But maybe it was a music store?
They also say "Ta-key-she" instead of Takeshi.
Edit: Oh, just got to "Endy-me-on"
This makes me wonder where Falcon is from
One day I'll meet that character "N" that appears on the GTA minimap and no one can convince me otherwise.
Edit: much love from Brazil!

Much love from India
I seen that character once but no one believes me
I didn't get this at first but hopefully one day we can meet "N".

Add “takeeshee” to the list of things falcon pronounces wrong
Yeah...
And Bass.
How game journalists in this decade are still pronouncing Japanese wrong is beyond me. It's literally 1 sound per vowel and they're the SAME as Spanish ones.
@@DeAthWaGer I know. But remember that those, mates, speak only English. And that isn't a phonetic language
@@DeAthWaGer Seriously, I say this all the time. If I was a non-Japanese speaking game journalist, I'd make learning the pronunciation one of my priorities. It's like literally half of the video game market and development. Just make a minimal effort.
Find a finished game? We sure can’t do that anymore.
I remember soloing Crota's End and King's Fall back on D1. It was really hard both took at least 4 hours but it was worth it imo.
The way you pronounced the Bass in "Bass Pro Shops" made me die a little inside
when you're more used to the musical reference of Bass(base) instead of the fish Bass(b-ass) tends to do that
Yea because it’s easy to confuse a fishing game named after a huge fishing store franchise with music. Falcon just reads a script and doesn’t have a clue what he’s actually talking about.
good. stay that way. and not only on the inside
i that all the time because I'm a musician. 🤷🏻♀️ dunno what to tell you
@@ItsMe-zs3iy It's not about confusing two things with the same name - it's about your personal experience. When a word is spelt the same way & you've only heard one way of pronouncing it then that's what you're going to use. Billions of people know how to pronounce _'bass_ notes'... a _'bass_ guitar'... 'drum & _bass_ music' correctly.... nowhere near that number of people know that there's fish with the same name which is pronounced a different way.
Around the end of number 10, I was like "Number nine is going to be 'Playing Dark Souls' and then voila, Dark Souls got referenced.
I’m proud that I was able to go through the entire trilogy alone and only genuinely needed online help for the final boss in the final dlc for Dark Souls 3…

Many games also have accessibility options for total deaf, blind or hearing/visually impared people. Last of us 2 had such an advanced accessibility menu that blind people were able to play the entire game, without having to memorize or experience it before hand. They also won an award for those settings. Breath of the wild was also hailed for their acessibility settings. Obviously it's pretty massive to play games blind, but it's also something to praise that creators are making games that allow people usually unable to fully enjoy games, to become part of the gaming community
2:35 no disrespect but I love how he called it base proshops
I've gotten to a point where waiting for the days video from gameranx is a part of my routine.

I just have to say. With the amount of crazy stuff people do to beat dark souls, like the latest entry, a pizza controller, anything is truly possible
The sekiro blind folded run impressed me its been in 2 of gameranx videos the amount of times you would have to beat the game plus the amount of dedication it takes to remember all the sound cues only way blocking or parrying key parts in even standing a chance
At 2:43 “Base pro shops the strike”, ah yes “Base” pro shop, my favorite fishing and hunting store

Back in the day when 2 player games were played side by side, before online gaming, we would have stipulations like playing blindfolded or with one hand tied behind your back. Usually fighting games like Tekken or WCW/NWO Revenge. A friend of mine actually won an NBA Jam tournament with his back turned playing through a mirror on the wall! Ahh, those were the days.
Boy, the whole "Takishi" thing had me confused for quite a bit.
Yeah that pronounciation is just terrible...
I 100% respect people who play through a game while legitimately being blindfolded. Like that is...just wow. REEPECT!
Have you seen any of the speed runs done by people blindfolded? It’s actually insane how these people have the muscle memory of God
Throwback to when we all used to solo Crota’s end
Thank you for clarifying what it means to be blindfolded, i figured it was just a blind that folds in half when you're hunting.
@15:25 Talking about Dance Dance Revolution and you've chosen to use an image of a Pump It Up machine, lol. Anyone who knows DDR knows the arrows are in the cardinal directions and the people who play the non-DDR games with the inter-cardinal direction buttons are heathens.
I feel number 9 alot. I played Dark Souls with a digital piano and Sekiro with wiimote and nunchuk ^^ It felt soo good to overcome these challenges
I played Sekiro...
It did not feel good!!
As someone who takes on raid bosses by themselves it’s not cos I want glory it’s cos I have no friends to play with and communicating with strangers gives me anxiety
The way you pronounced Bass Pro Shop gave me worms.
Specifically night crawlers.
@Wish You The Best It's not usually kids who take issue with it. I care because I'm an adult and I expect other adults, especially those who produce content online, to have a decent understanding of how common words are used.
@@milkknife If you’re talking about the instrument, bass is pronounced like base. If you’re talking about the fish then it rhymes with ass. English is weird.
@@milkknife It's like brass the metal. Not like Baseball. Although the musical instrument, the bass or bass guitar, is like base.
When GDQ beat Sekiro blindfolded it was honestly the most impressive thing I've ever seen.
"defeating raid boss around their level solo in an MMO game" tell that to Toram Online players, some raid bosses like venena is a main source of exp for certain levels yet for some reason on lower levels (150 or so) rarely anyone ever raid there (there's a feature where enemies roughly 3 levels higher or lower than you gives you a lot less exp per kill),a lot of players literally grind a raid boss solo over and over again to get a few levels
But then again i haven't played in a year or so idk if it had changed yet
Gamers can't even finish a game bare bones. Any average "beat the game" achievement/trophy sits anywhere from 10%-20% rarity. What's wrong with all of you? Beat your games.

I was #1 in the world in the batman Arkham game where u could first play as the joker for the survival/horde mode but that lasted all of 5 mins but i took a photo and shared it with my friends.
Congrats man, 1st in anything is great as it is, and that’s a well known game
Since the list seems more to be about things a few people did, but most could never do, I'd add "Playing single player games Co-Op". That was the main gimmick of Joel and Adam's "How to" series on achievement hunter. they would pick a single player game and see if they could do it with two people. IE two hands on one controller, or one on mouse and one on keyboard if it was a PC game without controller support. Sadly the show ended, but is still available to be watched when i last checked.
They played a ton of games and all were fun to watch but their crowning achievement was Outlast, which they nearly completed the entire game (sadly they never finished it. D:). and their QWOP video was just heavenly by the end.
I really hate raids because I don't have anyone that would play those types of games with me. If I can't do it alone in a game then chances are it isn't happening!
8 - I've been playing video games for 35 years, and I wouldn't even be able to die intentionally blindfolded. I would be lucky to be able to make the character I'm playing as walk 3 steps. I want to call bullshit on this one, but I don't think I can. I have heard of people playing blindfolded, but I've never seen anyone actually do it.
Watch the sekiro video. They just memorize their position like a dance. Makes me sad I cant beat it with both eyes.
Falcon literally said Bass (as in the sound, not the fish) Pro Shop, im cringing

I used to be able to beat Toxic Seahorse from MMX3 with my eyes closed, you just need the frost weapon. It was fun
I've taken down a major boss raid battle by myself before in the now defunct and deeply missed MMO called Defiance, which is a tie-in to the cancelled SyFy TV show. You were supposed to play the game and watch the show to get the full story, hence the tie-in aspect.
Love your stuff Gameranx!
Ah yes, English must be falcon’s third language
Before I watch the vid I'll say it:
Unlocking all secrets in an RPG without looking at a guide.
That is damn near impossible without a massive time investment.
Zero Masters run was a world record? The way they talked about it after uploading you would think it was a casual Tuesday or something. Legend.
Props for the Number 1 item being about music/rhythm games. After quite a bit of practice on Taiko no Tatsujin on Switch, was finally able to start hitting some seemingly impossible complex patterns, often with precision. Even now though, there are dozens of tight patterns that I know I'll NEVER execute, and many scrolling at speeds that neither the human eye nor brain could ever process. In game video shots are rarely capturable, so it would take both an outside camera to record, as well as an incalculable amount of memorization! whew....thats my two cents lol.
Maaann! You mentioning Takeshi's Castle gave me flood of nostalgia. The whole family would watch it with me when it comes on. We were all there back then, 7 of us; now only 3 of us left 🥲

@@seeker1287 the more comments, likes and viewer retention a video has the more likely TH-cam will recommend it therefore more people will stumble across the video. Deliberately misspronouncing words is a great way to get a bunch of people to comment on a video. A whole heap of TH-camrs do this.

My stepbrother and I used to play Everquest Online Adventures on the PS2. There was a raid area called Isle of dread and in order to get there, you needed a key that dropped off a monster called the Dreadnaught which looked like a skeleton version of a centaur. It was physically strong, had a lot of HP and also had a nasty AOE. It was a perfect trial raid mob for any guild to test themselves against. My step brother was able to solo the Dreadnaught with his druid by himself by rooting the mob and kiting it while healing himself. It took him almost an hour.
When I was young, my brother actually taught me to play the NES with an upside down controller. Now, being 34, I've since become more accustomed to playing with the controller the RIGHT way but I can still more or less play most games with the controller upside down.

I miss GTA from time to time but then I wait in a loading screen for fifteen minutes and go back to something else.
Shout-out to Summoning Salt. I had no idea the depth of the speed running communities optimization until I started watching his vids.
It's funny that during the DDR section you've got some song on normal difficulty, then it maybe goes to hard. Neither are terribly hard to complete.
On 20 January 2015, I was in volved in a serious head on collision while I was working as a courier. I then started playing GTA Online. I had nearly bought all the facilities in the game with out buying a Shark Card. I had been part of a crew and we did missions together, I had also done a lot of soloing. One day in 2020 I was on a solo mission and I had just bought the pilotable sub and I was going to cruise around in it, suddenly I got in invitation to someone's apartment, I declined... The next thing I got teleported to this hackers apartment, so I hit Escape and was loading into a new session. but while the screen was greyed out and I was loading this hacker dropped money bags on me. I thought that I was safe because my screen was greyed out. I then had to trek to my sub again which was on the other side of the map. When I finally got to the beach where I had to swim out to my sub I got a message that I was using hacks and I was banned for 30 day, and my character was to be reset. I lost quite a lot of in game cash... This made me so mad, because I don't want to struggle again for 6 years to get to where I was. As everyone knows... Rockstar games decisions are final and nothing you do will get them to reverse their decision. Thank you hackers and up yours Rockstar!
That's fucked up homie
Stopped playing for the same reason: Hacker hit me with duped cash and since he "shot" it, but I "picked it up," of course Rockstar banned me, while his character not "touching" the cash was free to do this to multiple people. The fact Rockstar knows this is a common hacker griefing tactic, and still doesn't do anything about, nor look at the pleas from players affected by it, is infuriating. They're too busy trying to sell you Shark Cards.
