SHooting, clears and mechanics are much more important at your stage. i didnt even air dribble until i was in champ because i thought my car control wasnt good enough. neglecting it hurt me in the long run, and since ive started training double taps, ceiling shots etc. my overall car control has sky rocketed

In low ranks I learned most of my advanced mehcanics, which is why I believe this. I learned flip resets and celing shots in silver, and air dribbling in bronze.

Keep it up dude. I started not too long ago and was struggling with wall shots. I did wall shot training packs, then eventually started trying wall to air dribble (when I first started, I could not air dribble at all) and after figuring out how to air dribble reasonably, I moved to ceiling shot training pack and finally hit a solid ceiling shot last night

Started at 12pm, played a normal day of rocket league ie. playing trios with friends, the tournaments and being in free play while waiting for them to eat or something, and I made my first shot at around 5:30. By 12am I could do them *almost* consistently. I’ve only been playing rocket league for 4 days, and I’m really excited to see what else I’ll be able to do. Thanks for the amazing tutorial!

I was doing ceiling shot training packs and was able to get the basic ceiling shots down but he’s absolutely right, the hard part is the SETUP, not necessarily the ceiling shot itself. If you’re totally new to ceiling shots, consider doing a ceiling shot training pack first, THEN implement the setup by doing it in free play.
Can you make a video on the power of a flip cancel. Going over how (different cancels and how they affect the car), when (angles and post ball hit car positioning), and adv. usage at the highest level (i’m looking into the “physics” of it now and how pro can cancel into a catch).

ive been trying to improve at ceiling shots for a while and I was always messing up the setup, but im now getting 7 or 8 out of 10 setups and scoring maybe half of them, when I previously would be happy with 2 or 3 good setups tysm
Really glad you did this video! The 100hrs one left me wanting so much more, so I'm glad to see this. A cool follow-up video would be integrating air-roll left with the ceiling shot. For example, is that a reverse tornado spin to land on the ceiling, or just regular spinning? When are you using a normal tornado spin vs a reverse one, etc? How much up and down motion with your thumbstick is integrated in these spins?

I’ve only been playing for five months, and I’m still only platinum, and yet after this I hit a jump from wall to ceiling perfectly, and got a ceiling shot after 2 hours of practice. This was a great tutorial, hopefully I’ll be hitting ceiling Mustys soon thanks to this.
I'm a plat 2 and have definitely a long way to go before I need to use ceiling shots. But hitting them in freeplay is just like a fun mini game in RL and sooo satisfying :)

For those who are struggling, try practice the setup without the ball first, cuz from what I see most people struggle when landing on the ceiling, and then when you have that covered try going for the execution

This actually taught me how to do it man. I didn’t know how to set it up right and I still suck at it but from your tutorial I’m able to get me car up to the ceiling and get my flip and I’m getting more consistent at putting the ball in the sweet spot in the air. Great tutorial
My problem is that when I jump onto the ceiling my car just stops and I don’t have the momentum to get to the ball any tips? Or is it the way I’m jumping to the ceiling

I just cant get under the ball I always end up on top of it. And a key difference that I saw when you were going for celling shots was you would air roll once you jumped of the wall. I cant do that I just jump off and tilt slightly. Maybe that's why I cant get under the ball?
I’m so close to doing my first ceiling shot... I’m on PC playing KBM and it’s so hard to have ball control. So that’s the only part that I’m having trouble with, and I’m also trying to get better a tapping the roof so I get that second jump to tap it in!
