The smurfs are my favorite part about rocket league. Nothing like jumping in a game to play with similar skilled people just to get decimated. So good

Yeah it sucks but you can't stop it so I just try it as an opportunity to test myself against someone who's higher ranked and see what they do differently. The next game with no smurfs usually feels easy after that. Lol

If you played someone who had a RLCS regional champ title and they played like a diamond, you'd probably question it as well. It was just a funny banter comment about coaches lol.
@@Torpid6441 I would be wondering how they got the title but I wouldnt say stuff like "you have to be GOOD to do THAT" and I CERTAINLY wouldnt say it outloud, I would just think "hmm maybe they just got it for free or smth, or maybe they just had a bad day or game" no need to say that stuff outloud to make myself feel better. finally, an edition of this series that actually makes sense lol. smurfs are infinitely more abundant in the ranks below GC where the majority of the player base actually is. love seeing stuff like this. more of this please.
There are so many more smurfs in gc than the lower ranks.

@@Thaitan15 There's plenty of smurfs in GC, GC1 is pretty mad compared to GC2/3 but its also relatively easy to get to within a day of playing on a new account if you're a GC2
Who cares if someone’s smurfing? I used to literally try and get my casual mmr as high as possible (I got it to 2800) so I could play harder comp.

I have a mixed feeling about smurfs. When I started playing I got smurfed on and it actually really inspired me. Seeing my opponent move through the air like that made me want to learn.
Then when I started encountering them in gold/diamond I felt completely unimpressed…
just wait until you hit GC and learn you can still be smurfed on in gc2 :,(

At first I hated the toxicity in Rocket League but now after 2 years in champ, I was submerged in the toxicity, I came to appreciate it. There is nothing better than a good "GET OUT OF MY GAME!" after winning.

It isn't punished at all. You can't even report someone for it.
@@frosthammer917 technically, "XP Farming" classifies as Smurfing. But, there's no REAL confirmation for the Report Bot, so the reports go unnoticed unless something absurd happens
@@swizzamane8775 Idk about that, but the correct report is "intentionally throwing matches" because if theyre a true smurf, they're throwing half their matches on purpose to stay at that rank. Otherwise its not smurfing, its just a brand new account that's ranking up. It sucks, but its not smurfing.

@@OsrsNooby tell that to the diamond smufs. they don't care and will win every match then HARD derank by not even trying. had a smuf on my team that passed into champ then the next game it was like he'd never played before. not just inconsistency game play, he didn't even use boost. then the game after i was his opponent and the same thing, won 10-4. that poor tm8 of his.
I'm new to this game and the ammount of smurfs in silver/gold is insaaaane! Thanks for going after smurfs, I hope people one day will think more about how they ruin games for many people during their few hours of ego-inflating fun.

Sunless, it'd be hilarious if you played ranked and purposefully made the most embarrassing plays, but making them look like an accident. You'd get some great reactions. And you can always add toxic players to the takedown list for later, of course.

I’ve encountered this it was pretty fun. I haven’t rly bumped into that much toxicity in general. The only thing that bothers TF out of me are people who intentionally idle for absolutely no reason

The reason I enjoy RL is the challenge. Getting better and grinding to rank up. Smurf’s honestly ruin the game for me. I don’t want to “clip” on silvers lol. Takes the fun out of it. Go play casual guys
RL coaches: Always blame yourself and never your team or the matchmaker or smurfs. Smurfing isn't an issue.
RL YTbers: So I'm going to go smurf to find the smurfs so I can tell them they're not smurfing well enough.
Ty for putting some of them in their place in a private match. I hope that doesn't inspire them to try smurfing harder and instead sends them back to their own rank.
Every other RL youtuber does a smurfing series, I mean "road to gc/ssl"

Literally only seen the intro so far and I am loving it!
That kids idea is actually good. Have a pro go from 144hz to 120, 90, 60 etc to see the sweet spot. I started on a 60hz monitor and after a few years playing switched to 144hz and I swear flip resets got 10x harder. Idk if limiting the frame rate in game is the same thing though, when I was using a 60hz monitor I was getting 300 fps in game so it still felt smooth. Still interesting to test.
Yeah, ik that low FPS is a disadvantage, but it would be fun and legitimately interesting to see just how much of a handicap it is.
@@theheir7264 In RL it might not be a disadvantage. Mechanics felt way easier at low FPS. I have also ran into several people in game that said they recently switched and couldn't do things like flip resets anymore. I think because at low FPS each frame is slower so you have a bigger window to make adjustments. Like I said in the initial post, idk if artificially limiting the frame rate in game is the same thing though.

From a guy who spent 2.5 years clawing his way from bronze to a peak of C3(in two's)...smurfs were very frustrating to encounter as often as I did. I could never understand it.
...until now...
Rocket league has consumed me for 2.5 years. I am nearing 40, work full time shift work, have a family...but dropped my hobby of chess and other video games, to grind and climb rocket league. I got into making my own montages and saving clips. Live and breathe rocket league (in my spare time anyway). And it has come with a cost...no game can tilt me like rocket league. The thought of improving has consumed me. And when ur on top and killing it, no game compares. But when you are losing and crapping the bed...no game compares. Lol And it has got to a point where this game is literally going to give me a stroke or a jammer lol.
And i began to ask myself...why? What is my end goal? The game has become a competitive skill based endeavor for me...it isn't a game i necessarily play for a fun time. And for what? Gone are my days of getting lost in a single player adventure game with a good story.
So getting back to my point...
I feel inclined to fire up a fresh account. Hop on with a buddy, have a few drinks...and screw with people and have some laughs. You know...have fun. And not take a video game so seriously. And sure...maybe some of you can accomplish that at your own rank in a very competitive match. But goofin off and dancing around some gold 3's is it's own kinda fun too. 😜
I understand now why i ran into so many the past 2.5 years. Like, i finally get it.
Morally, part of me feels bad. But then i remind myself...it IS just a silly car soccer video game at end of the day.
I have to let it go unfortunately. I will have fond memories of the game...probably more than my goldeneye and MK64 days even. And that is saying something
But smurfs aren't evil people. They are burning off steam and having some fun

one of my first ever games was against a smurf. in 2018 i got the game and won my first 5 matches thanks to the experience i had with SSARPBC, 6th match was a dude that was flying around the stadium and doing ceiling shots on me, he kept saying what a save and i kept answering thanks! because i didnt know it was a toxic thing back then and just assumed he was being encouraging for being close to save it a few times, even wrote "but i wasnt close this time, why the compliment" on one that i wasnt near the goal

This is probably the most satisfying video to ever come from this channel. As a Plat-stuck player, it's super discouraging when 1 in 4 games involve going against someone who is obviously far more skilled than their rank would imply. It seriously makes me want to stop playing RL sometimes :/
