Best tip for new players. Don’t boost up the sides taking every boost pad, work on boost reservation and also take a minute to see if your teammate has a better clear
Tip #1-20 for new players: Don’t ballchase; trust your teammates; get in position to receive a pass; don’t back up into a guy behind you when he says, “Defending”.
@@BillyOrBobbyOrSomething If you have Kobe’s talent, that’s fine. Most don’t, and need to play like a tight end, I.e., get into position, don’t chase your quarterback around, trying to take the ball away from him.

If you have an accessible extra button, binding it to air roll l/r is great. I have an extra bumper but using X is hard to hold when you want the perfect, fastest sideflip flick or to learn the Jzr meta flick. If you haven't tried either, I recommend it
Having played this game for 5 years and only reaching Champ 1 at the highest...these are solid tips. I'm aware of most of these, but 2-3 of them were eye opening for me
I feel like a big tip is to not using both jumps off the wall to hit into the ball. Space it out. One jump to get off the wall (while trying to line your car up with the ball) and using the second jump to flip into the ball. A lot of people make that mistake and I'm finally getting rid of that habit.

I will use this as a guideline for improvement. yes, I have been playing the game a while now so most of the early tips in the vid I already know, but it is good to know there is a simplicity to the approach of how you should focus on certain gameplay points that you made. Thank you!
Pro gameplay has helped me learn how to air dribble and recover very well. I always look at their first touches, or how they play a 50/50, or how they land. Sometimes they'll mess up but nobody is perfect
I played about 340 hours over a year or two, now those hours were nearly all drinking with friends, and I did not get any better during this time. Now for the past 10 hours of the game has been training packs and freeplay and I'm already ridiculously better than I was

Another I would add that is on my list of things im working on is catching clears. Ties into your first touch combined with planning your landing after a touch because sometimes you cant do a perfect catch and have to hit, recover and that will be part of your catch.
Other tips for new players. Learn to aerial and double jump Learn how and when to use the brake. Playing against bots in custom match is great for practice and you can scale the difficulties and eventually try 2v1 or 3v1 Play 1v1 as it helps you learn how to defend better. Rocket League. It’s a sad game when you really sit in my shoes (or headset). How about a tips video for de-rusting after not playing for a while? Rocket league is getting pretty old now, and many people havent played regularly for these past few years.
A tip i use myself is, when you are defending and the opponent is taking his time, rush into him backwards. That way, when he wants to speed up or get past you, your nose is already at your own goal and you are closer to your own goal. If he goes to the side for an air dribble, use a wide angle to your own goal so you can defend more easily
This video made me think about what I am good and bad at it in the game. Mostly bad. Lol. I am good at long distance shooting and goal keeping, and if someone hesitates and doesnt move at kick off I am curling the ball past them into a free goal. That said my positioning m, needs work, and I can't dribble on command or air dribble at all. Though I can hit some good aerials. I also have a tendency to ball chase and rush sometimes under pressure. Your video made me realise I have a lot to work on in training to get better. I will use the training.

this helped me a lot. thank you Thanovic
The most important thing for higher ranks is to think about where the ball will go. For example it bounces off a wall you need to know where it will be in a few seconds
Thanovic really helped me learn to air roll ariel very quickly and double tap like 3 days later and I'm only plat I'm not saying I should be diomind but I've been improving and maybe I will, but thanovic thanks your so goated
came back and i realize why i don't like this game i forgot how stiff it is when you lock into the ball. But i realize it is helpful to not lock on at times. As i'm trying to learn when and not to lock on to the ball. Like i'm getting the hang of not locking when near the goal and it helps scoring goals to.
There’s literally a setting to change the stiffness on ball cam
