The Obi Wan Kenobi show has decided to rewrite Revenge Of The Silth just to try and make Reva's story make sense. And it still doesn't. Apparently Anakin is not to blame. The Emperor is not to blame. In Reva's eyes Obi-Wan is the real problem. And boy does she have a lot of screaming to do.

It’s best to think of this as non-canon, because if you think of it as canon, it irreparably ruins Obi-WAN’s character.
I really don't care, I'm taking everything the mouse gives us with a grain of salt. Yes I wish they would leave these characters be, but there's no sense in getting too worked up about it. They're gonna do what they're gonna do. I'm gonna keep hoping they start to understand the source material better, and support the tiny bit of Star Wars content they do get right.
After you decide to not accept the sequel trilogy as canon, it's easy to do it with the shows too lmao

At the end of the day, I feel like Reva was completely unnecessary to the story. You could have cut her out entirely and had Vader been the one doing everything she was doing. The focus should have been on those two the entire time and If this was just a movie and we had way more Ewan and Hayden I think the praise would be unreal, Ewan and Hayden did amazing and I'm just grateful that they returned and for their performances like Hayden and Ewan really showed up for this show. Hope to see more of Hayden!
But then the show would not have been about a woman of colour. The sad part is Star wars is such a big universe that they could have easily made Riva the star of her own show about a youngling turned inquisitor that didn't involve obi wan but really was just about her biding her time to get revenge after discovering who vader was in the first episode and it would have been interesting.

The absolute worst part of this is that they show Vader being Vader, Force choking Reva for her failure and killing those random people as he walks through that village. At the very end though, he just can't seem to kill Reva. He stabs her with his lightsaber, and she survives, again. 🤦♀️ That was 100% Grade A bull 💩.

@@mustang6599 She knew he was Anakin. She failed to bring him Kenobi. She tried to kill him. Vader has killed people for each of those things and for even less. Plus, it's came out that in the original script he killed her. It has also come out that the show was supposed to focus on Kenobi and Luke but SOMEBODY wanted it to be about Leia instead.

Best example of this probably is the Grand Inquisitor at the end of Rebels S1 where he is defeated by Kanan and ultimately decides to commit suicide instead of returning to Vader because he knows if he reports his failure to Vader, he'll kill him. That's why he tells Kanan ''There are some things far more frightning then death"

By the way, in the original script Reva and her friends faced Anakin alone and she escaped, while he killed the others. She saw from behind that clones were killing Jedi and decided that all of them were killing kids like Anakin. She didn't know he was Darth Vader and that's why she worked for him and hates the Jedi, until Obi-Wan told her who he is. Then she stopped pursuing him, returned to Vader and said that she killed him, Vader finished her after that.

When it was revealed she survived a lightsaber wound as a youngling while Qui-Gon (A Jedi MASTER, mind you) quickly passed on from his wounds, that right there was the moment she hit Rey’s level of plot contrivance BS.

Grand Admiral Thrawn is a good exception for you. He was in Rebels near the end and we're likely to see him in the Ashoka show. A cold, calm and calculated strategist who is never flustered even when he doesn't have the upper hand. He was a great baddie!

As I expected, Reva's motives make no sense. She saw that Vader killed her friends, therefore...she is angry at Obi-Wan who trained him for not saving her? (Why didn't he just say "I was on Utapau, attacked by clones"?) And therefore she serves Vader, hunts all remaining Jedi, tries to kill them, chops hands off and tortures a child to find the Rebels? She is a horrible person and I cheered when she was stabbed...but then she lived.
Because the writers have absolutely no clue about Star Wars. One of them hasn't even watched Revenge of the Sith.

Who ended up an Inquisitor serving Vader. She fell to the dark side. Also believe the dark side twisted her motives along the way. I assumed she eventually came to enjoy what little priviledges she gained an inquisitor. Just my reasoning lol

So, REEEE-VA was able to make a drone into a tracker, but several Bounty Hunters hired by the ruins of the Empire can't do so with Grogu in the Mandalorian.
And they actually have fobs tracking him, but just forget they exist...

I watched the first episode and I was out. The prequels are some of my favorite movies ever. Trying not to let one lousy show ruin it but it's becoming increasingly hard to not let it

Reva was originally invented, apparently, so that someone in the Empire that is Force sensitive would be hunting Obi & they would not be using Vader much. That was the original plan. But they changed their minds & decided to use Vader a lot more, & that is not a bad thing. The bad thing is that they decided to STILL keep Reva AND to also keep some of her original motives & blend it with brand new ones. Originally she saw Anakin kill everyone, yes, but was allowed to live to serve the Empire & she fell for the propaganda that the Jedi were evil & she was grateful that she had been rescued from becoming a Jedi. That was all the realistic motivation she would need to hate & hunt Obi. But they decided to make her sympathetic & all that shit. Originally, Reva had no idea Vader was Anakin. And how the bloody f***ing hell could she ever know anyway? Robot Head is absolutely right, she wasn't there to witness his transformation after Mustafar! Reva knows that Vader is Anakin - & also that Luke is his kid - because WE know, the audience! She pulls the most secret info of this galaxy out of her ass, when no one else can, just so that she will have a "bond" with us watching, that she knows what's gonna happen in the OT like we do long before the timeline has reached it. Mother of God, save us from this travesty! And while they try to push this fake non-sympathy of hers on to us they still allow her to be a horrible person, a war criminal indeed. And, funny enough, her story is still incomplete. Unlike the original idea that she was forced into the Empire, we still now have no idea when or how she joined the Empire. Did she join them as a kid or as an adult? Don't know, but it sure had helped a lot with that fake sympathy they try to push on us. How long has she served the Empire? How much time has she had to commit war crimes against her OWN people? When the writers don't care about anything but skin color & gender they kind of miss the far more important pieces of a character's story that would make the audience give an actual shit.
Then there's also the not so little fact that Reva did not just survive against all f***ing odds, remember that she is a human being with a gaping hole & just eating would be impossible because she has nothing left in her body to process food & turn it into poop anymore, she now walks around the galaxy knowing the most hidden top secrets of both the Empire & the Jedi. That Vader is Anakin should only be known by very few people. So is that Luke & Leia are his kids. It's a freaking miracle that Reva didn't just have a moment & realize that Leia is Vader's kid as well while they were at it, she did spend some torture time with the girl after all. But for the OT to work at all NO ONE but the key people can know a damn thing! But Reva, out of f***ing nowhere, a character no one asked for & gave us nothing at all of value (the opposite in fact), survives against all odds & is allowed to live knowing what she knows! Obi!?!? Why is this woman still alive!?!? Why do you let her live!? What's to stop her from running back to the Empire, telling all she has learned, only to gain favor & be allowed back in to the Empire? Or they capture her & she talks under pressure? Or she just has a big mouth & tells someone that tells someone else that tells someone else & so on & so forth & such like!? Why Luke is allowed to remain with the Lars' on Tatooine is beyond stupid now. That couple have proven they have no defense plan for Luke if any shit hits the fan. Obi doesn't seem so keen on protecting him. And Reva somehow lives & knows who the kid is, where he lives, everything. WOW! Besides TLJ, I have never seen such a massacre of canon ever. And that is ONLY the Reva character & not all the other f***ing BS of this show. These morons have no plan, no judgment, no love for SW. They even contradict themselves. Just make them stop already.

And I have absolutely seen the Prequels, I watch them regularly. They are full of flaws, no denying that. My sister and I talk about the show, and she was fine with obi not killing Vader because of they were friends. I countered and said “yeah that why he would spent time to convince Vader’s son to do it for him. She gave me the surprise pikachu face when I blew her mind.
That's the difference between people who actually watched the movies and people who are fans of the brand.

I hate people who say they are a fan of Star Wars and when asked when did they became a fan the answer is "Oh well I saw the movies growing up, and I liked them but I wasn't into the story, then in 2015 the main force user was a woman and that made all the difference." By that logic I shouldn't be a fan of Dragon Ball and Naruto, and yet I've spent hundreds of hours talking about them. Part of being a fan is knowing the story to the point that for the most part you wouldn't want it changed. that doesn't mean you can't disagree with it, or in some headcannon fanfic sense you would write it different. I think the ending of Naruto was shit and Madara should have stayed as the final villain, but canon is precious. That's what the EU star wars understood that they can write around the films but they couldn't alter the films.

My only comment is most people treated droids like property but by the end of A New Hope Luke was concern about R2 same with Anakin during the clone wars. I guess the Skywalker family is different
Luke and Anakin went through quite a few adventures, including near-death experiences, with their droids - the kind of stuff that breeds attachment. Likewise to people like Han and Leia bonding with C-3PO, although they spent overall less time with them so it was less of a bond.
You see it in other characters as well. As for Obi-Wan and whatnot, I can't say I recall him spending THAT much time with R4.

Making Legends look better and better with each series they release.
Padme understood Anakin better than anybody, she saw him as a boy with his mom, and she saw he regrets of his actions that he did in affect of rage. Also, the raiders tried to kill him during the pod races, they killed many people regularly, chopped leg to husband who tried to save her, they are actual terrorists. And yes, kill Jedi children is different, they lived 3 years in love and she didn't know his motives.
The Boba Fett show tried to make us sympathise with the Tuskens. They just haven't got a clue.

Modern day cinema has a hard on for destroying beloved characters in the name of strong female characters.
I'd love to see them remake Aliens, and try to 'fix' Ripley.
The thing that disturbs me about this series is:
It makes Obi-Wan responsible for every single death that Vader brings about after this series. Like I get he's broken up that his "friend is truly dead" now and all that, but he literally just walks away! It sucks the nobility out of Obi-Wan like a leech!
Obviously Vader had to live, but probably would have been better if something actually prevented Obi-wan from finishing the job, like some stormtroopers running in to save the day, or like in TFA where the ground literally tears apart between them.

Well yeah, he had a chance to kill Vader and end his wave of destruction and death…but didn’t, and the blood of countless lives is on his hands.
1:06 that was actually really good attention to detail on their part. Obi-Wan did not have his iconic lightsaber until the revenge of the sith era. That lightsaber was his second saber and was made during the clone wars era which those flashbacks are set in. Same with Anakin’s lightsaber

When the show dramatically zoomed in on the captured youngling in the Jurassic Park amber stone, with the “whaaaaaat?” look on his face, I burst out laughing. It just looks so ridiculous 😂
Literally just slightly change a few things and suddenly this show works way better. The pacing of scenes, dialogue, just ever so slightly, like have obi-wan be about to kill Vader and then Palpatine shows up and forces him to leave
It still would be an absolute mess. The Organa Family would have been dead or imprisoned for the rest of their lives, Obi-wan would have still been tracked back to Tatooine and Luke would have still seen a lightsaber and had the force used on him.
The only way this show could have been saved would have been to make the entire thing some elaborate nightmare.

Whats the problem with R2D2 having jetpacks? He's an astromech droid, it makes sense he should be able to maneuver in a zero gravity environment. Being able to fly like he did in Attack of the Clones is a stretch I will admit.
He got so much cooler when he could fly.

The in-universe explanation for R2 not using jet pack legs in the OT was because those were banned from astromechs by the Empire, and that fact was established before Disney bought Star Wars.
Good thing I gave up on this franchise 20 years ago.

I had the same feeling about the robots in this that you had. I've recently come across an interview where George Lucas revealed that in his world that he created, discrimination has gone away in this space opera. But the only one that remained was mistreatment of droids.
Now, I was lost about what he was saying, because that NEVER translated from the big screen onto the viewer. And, I'm not sure if he was talking about a draft, or if Disney was asking him to say something positive about Ron Howard's bad Star Wars movie. George Lucas wanted Ron Howard to originally direct his Star Wars films. Ron Howard is a successful Director. Willow (1988 which George Lucas worked with him on), Backdraft (1991), Far and Away (1992), The Paper (1994), Apollo 13 (1995), How the Grinch Stole Christmas (2000), A Beautiful mind (2001) won loot and awards including best picture, Cinderella Man (2005), The Da Vinci Code (2006), Hillbilly Elegy (2020) which is the story of JD Vance who is now running for Senator.
The guy does good work, but NO ONE CAN DEFEND Solo: A star Wars Story (2018). And I just look at that comment by George Lucas as a made up story to try to make the film look not as bad, as it really was.
