Don't care for the product but this commercial was actually pretty funny.
Had to come here to see what the comments would be like. This is one of the funniest and best-produced ads I've ever seen. The dialogue, the setting, the production values, the acting - hilarious. I still keep watching the full ad almost every time it airs.
I'm not so sure about crypto - that's a separate issue. But what an ad!
Hahaha so you are the guy saying “ponzi scheme”…. This is hands down the best ad I’ve ever seen. It 100% nailed all the noise in the space. I’m all in on crypto and I’ve been telling everyone to get involved (not just by throwing money at it). Spend some time researching it.. it’s a game changer for sure. Watch videos by Cathy wood (arc investment), Raou Paul, Keven O’Leary, Michael Saylor (he is an absolute animal in this space)… Don’t be like the guys on the sidelines shouting at the innovators.. @@cg7942 Rich people investing in it? Like they don’t have enough money already. And what is crypto? It’s not regulated by a government or anything, it’s anonymous, this sounds like a dream to them! They’re not looking to benefit the little guy, they only care about profiting for themselves and their rich friends.
@@robo_t I understand your skepticism. I had the same doubts. It’s not about getting “rich” (but there is an opportunity to make money). To me, it’s about the changes that are coming. And true, they aren’t looking out for the little guy but when have they ever?? Governments are starting to regulate it. Some have already made it legal tender, El-Salvador, Brazil and Mexico soon. Even Ukraine, in the middle of an invasion, made it possible for its citizens to accept bitcoin (this is actually one of the biggest arguments for Bitcoin). And I don’t think the “rich” would risk everything (their companies, personal wealth, reputation) if they didn’t understand what they were investing in.. Have you put in some time to study and understand Bitcoin, Crypto, web3 (serious question)? If you do/did and still think it’s a scam I’d love to talk about it with you. Either way, I hope for only good things for you and your family.

Don’t know if this bot is still around but if there was any mention of Bitcoin, a bunch of bots would make a fake conversation about how great Bitcoin was, it was obviously just a bunch of bots. I was honestly enjoying this commercial when I saw it on TV, then learned it was for Crypto, and lost all respect.
When it started getting into “ponzi scheme” and “fad” it became obvious. You already see NFTs are losing interest, the only people who are pushing this are rich people who trade it amongst themselves, and get more wealth out of people that they don’t need

The rich people are using that to make it seem like it’s for everyone. But if you look at NFTs (close enough to crypto anyway) it’s rich people trading with each other, selling to themselves, making it seem like there’s interest in them because of these transactions, but it’s all crap. Also, the actual use of this technology could be better, but instead people are using it only for profit, and they don’t hide it, they’re greedy people. Don’t think the rich are on your side, they aren’t, at all
I remember watching this ad over and over again and thinking "what an arrogant, asinine way to sell an obvious scam". Now I actlvely search for this ad for all the feelings of schadenfreude it provides me. I would like to offer a belated "thank you" to whoever made this ad for the (very much unintentional) comedy it gave us *chef's kiss*.

This commercial has aged like fine wine. It turns out cryptocurrencies, which seemed dumb to the casual observer, were in fact dumb. This was by design; their obvious flaws presented a litmus test for sifting out anyone not credulous enough to believe that unregulated blockchain technology could be at all trusted.
Sometimes the truth's right in front of your, if you're ready for it.

I still love this commercial. Considering BTC is up about 70% from a year ago, I wonder if people that laughed back in 2022 will change their minds. They are the detractors laughing in the ad at others learning to use the wheel. The next bull run has already started.

while the ad gave me a good laugh, and i don't deny that crypto can work as a currency, it's what they allow that grinds my gears: NFTs. crypto isn't the fad, NFTs are. if a server crashed, a physical painting wouldn't just vanish from circulation. not to mention, most NFTs are ugly as heck, do you seriously think Bored Apes, Axies or Crypto punks would look good as paintings? they are just another "rich get richer" scheme, and if people would just stop buying them, the whole scheme would crumble.
NFTs are weird right now, but there is a lot you don't understand, which is I guess the point of the ad. NFTs are not just about the rich getting richer. They potentially provide new pathways for artists of all kinds to make money without middlemen stealing profits or dictating things. NFTs are stored on decentralized storage so there is no server that can go down. As long as the internet works, you're good. And NFTs don't have to just be jpegs. They could be virtual environments, or deeds to (real life) property, or a membership card, or things we don't even imagine right now. You have a lot to learn my friend!

@@mdoerkse While the intended use for NFTs does seem better, it really seems like it’s the Bored Ape type NFTs that are thriving, and that it can really be exploited. You see a lot of art being stolen as sold as NFTs, you see a bunch of scams, rug pulls and such. Some of the intended uses on their own also don’t seem that good tbh, people are pushing for NFTs in video games, but really it just seems like glorified microtransactions and skins that don’t add much value, except cosmetic. And besides NFTs, crypto seems exploitable too, it can be hacked too, exploitable too, though it’s more practical than NFTs from what I’ve seen
@@robo_t To me it makes a lot of sense to use NFTs for in game items, because you can actually USE them in that virtual environment, whereas what are you really buying when you buy a jpeg that anybody else can also see. If owning the NFT gives you some intellectual property rights then that makes a bit more sense. For example, I heard that if you own a Bored Ape you own the rights to that particular ape to be used anywhere. And Coinbase is actually developing some animated series for the Bored Ape Yacht Club. 🤷🏼♂️ Or imagine if you bought an NFT of a song and you were able to earn a portion of the revenue for that song wherever it is played.
Sure there can be scams and rug pulls and stuff. Isn't that just life? Buyer beware. It's the Wild West out there right now. Sometimes there are even hacks, but that tends to be for exchanges or particular wallets or newly developed crypto projects. It tends to be the smaller and newer stuff. Bitcoin itself has never been hacked. Most cryptocurrencies have never been hacked.
I've been using crypto since 2016 and I only got burned once. Perhaps you heard about the QuadrigaCX exchange. I had some Bitcoin on there but nobody realized how shady that exchange was. I shouldn't have left my crypto sitting on the exchange, I was lazy, and it was the Wild West, like I said. But I'm grateful now that crypto is available through companies like Wealthsimple that are completely legit and backed up by insurance, and now you can transfer the crypto from WS to your own private wallet.
