    Im riding a street legal one around the uk. I didnt have to change the sprocket or anything to increase the top speed to get it registered. Its registered as an A1 class electric motorcycle which is anything over 4kw and under 11kw. This means you can ride it on a learners license as well as long as you complete a short course. Really really awesome bikes i particularly like the tech built into the battery as you can ride it in below freezing weather and you dont lose hardly any range.

    $100 a month for insurance seems like a lot for an around-the-city range bike, it's in the same ballpark as an all-you-can-eat transit pass. So much of government seems like a racket.

      It's about £50 a month for insurance on this Thing in the UK for me. It's not full comprehensive insurance though

    I'm glad to see there are some light electric motos in the canadian market. Now if we could just get some lane-filtering laws.

    I believe that you would have been better off attaching paddles to it so you can use the bike lanes.

    Does this bike have a label of compliance for Saskatchewan

    • @epiccycles9
      @epiccycles9  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It does not really come with any label of compliance. However, it has all of the right lights, brakes, mirrors and more to get it certified. We got it safety certified by a licenses motorcycle company in Ontario to get that label of compliance to be able to register and plate it. I'm sure the same can be done in any or at least most provinces.

      @@epiccycles9 Did you happen to know the place where you had the safety inspection completed? I was hoping you guys could start selling/registering the new EGO mini bikes like the Caofen F80. They fit the definition of an LSM in British Columbia, but just don't come with a Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (CMVSS) label.

    It looks like this would be perfect to be sold as an LSM motorcycle. Like the SuperSoco motorcycles. It would be just like a 50cc scooter. No need for a motorcycle license for adults. Just car license. Technically you don't need insurance, but if you get one , you can insure just one side so you save money. Caofen could still offer an offroad mode to derestrict the speed in case you get off the road.

    • @ferrarista27
      @ferrarista27 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I think this bike would sell more as an LSM motocycle. People with motocycle license don't go for these types of bikes. They will get a proper motorcycle which can travel safely on the highway. The Caofen in the city, like a scooter, would be more appealing I think and would most likely sell more, since it would be accessible to more people.

    • @epiccycles9
      @epiccycles9  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes it’s possible to max it out at 70km by adding a larger sprocket. It will give the bike more torque but also slow it down to 70km

    • @ferrarista27
      @ferrarista27 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@epiccycles9 Yes, but if it is not filed at Transport Canada as a limited speed motorcycle you cannot register it as such. I imagine that the manufacturer or the importer has to do it. SuperSoco and Tinbot/Kollter both sell the restricted and full speed version of some of their bikes.

    • @Aimaiai
      @Aimaiai 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      LSMs need a motorcycle license and insurance in Canada, thats the law in the united states. Also its an offroad motorcycle, the majority of offroad motorcycles cant sustain highway speeds. Dual sport trail bikes 400cc and below are usually what people drive if they want a road legal dirt bike, and usually the motor will blow up if you ride it at highway speeds for extended periods of time. This is why dirt bikes are the only vehicle that are successfully being replaced with electric variants, because gas dirt bikes are barely highway worthy anyways.

    • @ferrarista27
      @ferrarista27 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Aimaiai Limited speed motorcycles (LSM) are restricted to 70 km/h. They have the same regulations as 50cc scooters or mopeds in Canada. You are not required to have a motorcycle license. You can ride with a car license if you are an adult or scooter license if you are at least 14 years old. They have to be registered, but insurance is not required by law, but obviously recommended.
      I suggest you check Transport Canada website. All info is there for you to look up.
      The Caofen F80 has a proper Vin number. The street version has indicators and mirrors so could easily be registered as an LSM if the manufacturer limits the speed to 70 km/h. To be admissible, they have to send papers to Transport Canada so that it can be approved and included in the LSM list.

    Are you required to have a motorcycle license when purchasing that ebike?

    • @epiccycles9
      @epiccycles9  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Hello. No, you do not need a motorcycle license when purchasing an electric motorcycle. This one and only bike, Barry had modified and sent over to the MTO to get it registered as a Motorcycle. If you do the modifications and get it registered, you will need an M license in Canada.

      I saw that the bike is on sale now. Do I have to pay more for the street legal? I’ve got my M2 license. Or 7599 includes the modified?

    • @epiccycles9
      @epiccycles9  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@jasongao1352 HI Jason, there wouldn't be any additional fees for the bike itself. However, if you plan on registering it and have it plated there will be some expenses such as getting the bike certified. To certify it, we would need to modify and increase the top speed of the bike from 85km to 100km. We can get the speed up for you for an additional $250. Other expenses to expect if you want to legally ride it on the streets is the registration and insurance. Registration is about $100 or so and insurance is roughly $100 - $130 per month.
