As I write this, I’m sitting on the porch listening to you. I broke my ankle in three places Monday, surgery was on Tuesday. I’m not far from being a vegetable. My wife brought down my Grado’s from the listening room yesterday, my headphone amp, my iPad is now my Roon music jukebox. It has been such a blessing to hear the music. I listened to some Chicago and a lot of Steely Dan. It encouraged my heart so much. This is truly a life changing event. My wife is amazing. She’s a nurse and she’s been such a help to me. My oldest daughter is in nursing school and she too has been such a help through these past few days. My family is such a blessing by God.

Its fantastic that you have a great and supportive family, that's truly a blessing, I'm sure that you are a blessing to them too. I am sorry about your ankle injuries and I pray that you have a speedy recovery 🙏 ✌️

Brother Kenny, I had to view this a second time! I hope you and your family live on the same block in heaven as my family and I do! I know Father God and His Son are going to have amazing music too! Thanks again for your testimony and how you relate your musical interests with this. (Matthew 10:32-33) Things in this world are certainly changing, and I definitely want to be on that winning team! Thanks again my brother and God bless you.

Thank you for sharing. This video is just a testament of your kindness, sincerity and gratitude. You, Sir, are an example for young and not so young generations. Wish your video was an hour long. And I absolutely agree with you: music was always a very, very important part of my life, a friend to count on in highs and lows, but people and events change lives. I remember the music I was listening (sometimes in my head) when life changing events ocurred and what I've sung to my kids on the day they were born, but the life change came from those births, not the music. Music, for me, is just the Soundtrack to my life. Thank you again. I was deeply moved by your video.

@@kennysaudiophilerecordreviews Caroline, No is on of my father's favorite songs. When I was a child my dad would point out interesting and unusual popular songs. He played the drums and still does. I really appreciate how musically sophisticated my dad was throughout my childhood. My father is pretty old now. I could lose him any day. He's not in any particular jeopardy
He's doing pretty well for his age. He still walks 3 miles a day. You may ask why. The answer is: after his heart surgery the doctor told him he can't run it. So he walks it. He's an inspiration. I'm grateful to have a father like him.

The Grateful Dead and Keith Jarrett changed my life, and I was lucky to see both of them live! To paraphrase someone, they showed me that well of joy in myself no one else told me was there

There are so many different things that can change your life and I can understand how music might not be that. There were four times in my life that I have had direct contact with God and three of those were through music. One of those times was at the lowest part of my life when I was young and lost a lot of close people to me and felt alone. There is a chance without that I might not be hear today. Music has been one of my main connections with God and at least once a month there comes a song that confirms that connection.

My first Grateful Dead concert (and several thereafter) changed my life.
The first time I rode a wave 🏄‍♂️ where I was in control changed my life.
Those two, one music and one sport, changed the course of my life from directionless and self-destructive to purposeful. The effects were far-reaching on who I became.
Actually, every second of our lives changes our futures, even if to imperceptibly miniscule amounts.
In the words of Robert Hunter in the gorgeous song Stella Blue:
    "It all rolls into one
    And nothing comes for free
    There's nothing you can hold
    For very long
And when you hear that song
    Come crying like the wind
It seems like all this life
    Was just a dream
    Stella Blue"
Keep on keeping on Kenny. 👍👊✌️🤙👍

Interesting discussion indeed. I usually think of music as a big part of my life but not so much as life changing. I would think it’s probably the same for serious music fans. Now for the artist themselves, they are most likely to say the words “life changing”. BTW Kenny, I’m a big sports fan as well, you’ll be happy to know I saw the Lakers in the 1980 NBA finals, game 6 in Philadelphia. Magic Johnson wins his first Championship and for him that was definitely a life changer. Thanks Kenny!

That was huge win for the Lakers. I was watching on TV, I remember it as if it was yesterday. It was a big game for Magic playing without Kareem.

I agree with you Kenny(no disrespect to your wife) that music and sports aren't life changing, though they can bring great enjoyment to your life. There's nothing like being a little down and putting on that certain album that lifts your spirits. To call them aspirins I believe is a very good term, because they do give you a period of relief. I really enjoy your videos and hope you continue to provide them to your subscribers. In their own way, they are little aspirins for the enjoyment that they provide.

Hey Kenny I understand you completely...for me music has been a medium that has added immense joy and happiness to my life and it makes me feel good on a physical plane if you will. However some or all of the things that you mentioned that have had such a profound impact on your life, changing it for the better, are those things realized on a higher or shall we say spiritual level which I find enhances everything...peace brother!

Hey Kenny 🙌 😄 How are you?
I don't really think a song or an album can literally change someone's life. But i do think music in general can give some kind of direction to someone's life. I say that because im 22 years old and nowadays is very easy to be an empty head guy here in Brazil where i live. But i found that not just music but also movies are perfect ways to fill your heart and mind with sense since life sometimes doesn't make any.
God Bless You And Family! ✌🙌🙏

Hahaha I've saw the title (Albums that changed my life) affixed to many online videos & wondered if in their head this was true? I think you're right, listening to music or albums can shift your taste of music or change your view in that type of sense, but something that if life changing is totally different. Your child being born, losing a loved one, or getting hired at your dream job can't be topped by a shift or a add on in musical taste. I've probably at this point heard about every musical genre there is, but these listens were no where being close to being life changing. Good call.👍

@kennysaudiophilerecordreviews Hahaha. You may be right? I want to give you something to checkout. Rick Beato video (How the collapse of C.D. sales crashed the music industry with Jim Barber). If you go back a few months on the same channel he had a conversation on a similar topic with Jim Barber titled (Music Mafia) Enjoy & keep up the good work.👍

I feel the same way about my son. I often tell him that he's every man's dream son. Is he perfect? To me he is--although YIKES.
