I agree with you 100%. Using a different analogy, there's a guy on another site you may know who he is, I won't mention him, but he went crazy about having to have Pink Floyd Dark Side of the Moon , the blue label version of the very early rare copies that people are paying as much as $8000 for. He got one through a contact that was not that much, and he acted like he just won the lottery or something so special. There's so many copies of that record, just find one that you can afford and enjoy it.

I agree with you Kenny. Although some of us are vinyl junkies, even though we may not get a certain recording we desire, I think we'll manage to survive.Let's all enjoy the music that we have., for I really can't imagine a world without music.

Brother Kenny, had to watch this a second time! Flippers do not break any laws or violate any moral codes! Great point! Oh Kenny, but you have 7000 records... then you commented and said, 'I would feel the same way if I had 20!' You tell him Brother Kenny! What I wanted to give you is a couple ideas for new videos! First idea, where to we put Smooth Jazz? For example, 'Heartstring' by Earl Klugh, classic! Same with 'Breezin' by George Benson. When does Smooth Jazz become New Age? Another good topic to debate. Second idea, International Jazz, I know youve talked about Cal Tjader, Jobim a bit, but lets get into the meat and potatoes of Brazilian Jazz too! For example, Marcos Valle, Deodato, Eliane Elias, Jobim, Flora Purim, Astrid Gilberto, Azymuth, The Ipanemas, etc.etc. Thanks Brother Kenny, Peace and Love!!

I collect records and I listen to records and I do not flip records. Like you said, I miss out on records I really want sometimes (like the recent Rhino issue of Black Sabbath) but that's part of the game. Thanks for this interesting video; it's great to hear opinions that are different from what everybody else always says.

Brother Kenny, thanks for bringing this topic up again as I am relatively new to your channel. I do agree with many of your points here in regards to the flippers. I think this is why Record Companies are trying to limit sales of high demand limited albums to one or a few at most. I feel flippers, and yes, they have been around since the beginning of time, but they actually do some good by increasing the sales of these albums. Do I like paying the extra for a hard to find limited edition album you may ask? Not really, that's why I'll go to the second or third best edition available. Flippers provide a service. Imagine not having any flippers out there. Sales would be down, prices would be down a bit, but production of high demand album editions would be down, and we don't want that. I'm not a flipper, never been a flipper. What I do is I take ten NM albums that I haven't listened to in five years and check to see if my local record store will give me a little money for or give me a little credit toward new purchases. Thanks Kenny!

You bring up some points that I never thought of when mentioning flippers, like they aid in increasing record sales. Thank you very much as always for your great comments 👍 😊✌️

I'll take flipping over more regulations from the nanny state anyday.
I think levying taxes on anything used is far more insidious.
    Well said Kenny.🎉. Greg

I agree that flipping records doesn't affect any aspects of my life at all. Even banks are selling our identities to other outfits just in case someone needs to know.👍

I have a couple recommendations for you. The first is the new Kamasi Washington LP Fearless movement, which is an incredible jazz-fusion album that will have you ascending. The next one is a neo-soul album called Lahai by Sampha. As a fan of your videos and music taste, I feel like these would be great listens. Thank you for providing me endless entertainment :)

I have no problem with flipping and do it myself when I have the chance. I finance my collection also with flipping, I call this free market. Every flipping you do has the risk of loosing money and the possibility of making money. My risk, my gain.

Great Video ! Circumstances may stop you playing all your records again (from Statting at A through to and ending with Z) ! .
In the 70s buying a Mail Order Record would be a "Want Record" but you payed a little more and you sold some of your collection so you ended up paying more for less Records. Like the Record term S.O.M.O.( Scared of Missing out) I expect to here somebody say "Flipper" maybe once in my Lifetime.

I remember a time in 2008 , I used to buy jazz cds and lps every week then lost some work but met a fantastic girl from Korea . We used to go out in London but she told me she was going home but via Spain . I sold a whole load of records and a vintage mxr distortion pedal and got about 200 quid , the next thing I knew I was in Madrid with her eating Paella and visiting the Picasso museum ! Wow we saw The Guernica . Then I found a great little record shop and bought a copy of White City a Pete Townsend solo lp . The music I had heard and enjoyed . She was a really lovely girl , we had a lovely time but she ended up going back home .

I have no problem with record flipping, it’s just the nature of the beast. Record stores that sell used records are big time record flippers. I shop for used records regularly so obviously I’m supporting the practice. In fact they are doing the work of finding and having records that other wise would not find in the wild. Interesting topic….✌

I may be wrong , but I suspect the profit generally available makes this more of a hobby, just another weird way to enjoy records.
Besides, it's not anything I can control , and what difference if you own an album for years or minutes until it is sold. The first time I sold a record, I was young and did it just to follow what I thought other's did , and sold a record that the counter man asked " are you sure you want to sell this record kid?" the few times I sold as an adult the money involved was hardly worth the effort to go to the store, because now I wasn't selling any good stuff for credibility.

If someone is willing to buy then why not sell at a profit, that’s pretty much life and any category for collecting anything. The craziest market right now is sports cards.

Flipping LPs never occurred to me. As long as the flipper has integrity and isn't out for a quick buck, I don't have a major problem with it. But it could be argued that they're taking advantage of people in some cases. If they're hoarding for the purpose of selling and regular collectors and music lovers lose opportunities to buy and listen to them, which is what an LP is for, then I don't like it.

They provide no service other than jacking the prices up for new collectors trying to enter the hobby in order to pay for their own collection.
