  • Learn how to quickly calibrate visual sensors of the DJI Mavic Pro & Platinum Drone. The process can be extremely difficult see step-by-step
    1:07 Download/install software, 2:45 Launch software,
    3:00 Plug in Mavic Pro, 3:36 Initiate calibration, 4:00 Calibrate front sensors, 4:59 Calibrate bottom sensors
    Watch every time you calibrate it and see step-by-step how to do it properly. Saving you time and heartache. This is required after repair, Small crashes/bumps and large crashes, or you get an error message to calibrate on your computer. Vision sensors.
    Calibrate Drone:
    1. After a repair
    2. You get an error message to calibrate on your computer
    3. Small crashes/bumps and large crashes
    4. After you have not flown it for awhile
    5. It has been bumped or transported roughly
    6. Right after you receive it from the store
    7. Or anytime you have not done it in a while or if you like to be cautious then methodical do it every 10 flights.
    8. If Drone isn't showing up when plugged in with USB. Disable all firewalls and antivirus. Then plugged try plugging it back in. (comment and input made by @POP202)
    This video works for all Dji and phantom drones: Phantom 1, Phantom 2, Phantom 3, Phantom 3 advanced, Phantom 3 pro Phantom 4 pro, Phantom 4 pro+, inspire, Mavic pro, Mavic Pro Platinum
    WORKAROUND
    A user @dmillerjr7 found a workaround here are the instructions:
    DJI Assistant 2 keeps asking me to reboot drone when you try to calibrate the Visual Positioning System (VPS) on my PC
    1. Disconnect all external monitor/s
    2. Change display settings to 1280x720 resolution
    3. Shift + Restart: Hold down the “Shift” button and Restart the computer at the same time.
    a. Select the “Troubleshoot” tile on the Choose an option screen that appears.
    b. Select “Advanced options”. - Click the “Startup Settings” tile.
    c. Click the “Restart” button to restart your PC into the Startup Settings screen.
    d. Select option “7” in the Startup Settings screen to activate the “Disable driver signature enforcement” option.
    4. You are now ready to calibrate.
    5. Make sure not to move drone around - keep the drone in the center of the screen and angle toward the boxes as you calibrate - it will have you calibrate the front sensors and then have you calibrate the bottom sensors
    1. Other issues include plastic wrap still left on inspect the visual sensors/cameras
    2. dirty camera/visual sensors
    3. Calibrate in a well lit place. The sensors only work in the light.
    4. If the drone has been crashed the sensors could be damaged
    5. There could be a manufacturing issue.

    Hi there! We use a DJI Mavic Pro and recently had the visual sensors calibration error randomly appear from nowhere. First time this has ever happened since owning the Mavic and we were completely baffled! Just want to say this was a massive help in getting it fixed, thank you so much for the video and I can safely say it's still helping others two years down the line!

    Thank you X 4 - I have struggled, sworn & nearly pulled out what hair I have left. First get a cord (micro usb to standard USB) long enough. There is one provided by DJI but it's 1 ft. - My tower was under my desk - so I had to revise locations of my screen and tower. So, Thank you again - This is a very frustrating experience.

    I was able to do FINALLY able to do the calibration on my new replacement from DJI! I run a MAC computer but for some reason, it would not work but got it to work on my new HP Laptop and said calibration has been completed. I think before I go fly it on the beaches where I LIVE I MIGHT want to test it at this large field by my house, just in case. What a nightmare at first when you don't know how to do it or before you review this video but I got it!! Many thanks for the tips mate.

I was able to fly but in the air the mavic recocnized obstacles which aren't there and stop during flight. the good flightmodes wasn't working anymore. I did the Calibration on the remote but that didn't fixed the issue. Now I did it on the cimputer and it worked just fine (Win 7) thanks a lot for the video :)

  • @SteeveeDan

    Maybe you can help. I can calibrate the front sensors but when I start the bottom sensor calibration, assistant freezes after the second or third box. Tried different displays and 2 computers. Can't get it to finish ever. Any ideas?

    • @LiquidLabStudio
      @LiquidLabStudio  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      That sounds like a tough one. If it calibrates the front just like in the video, that is a good thing. Not calibrating the bottom ones could be caused by things like the plastic packing covers being left on over the sensors. Dirt or debris over the camera/sensors. not enough lighting for the calibration. The cord not having a a good connection. I would try all four of these maybe a different cord/look at the micro usb port (hold the good connections in place when you flip the aircraft). The cord coming disconnected could cause a software crash. More exotic problems would be a buggy software or hardware issues.

    Hey man quick question how long did it take for it to calibrate and calculate after the visual sensor calibration, mine seems to get stuck at 85% and was calibrating for aobut 30 minutes at least and still didnt reach a 100%

    • @LiquidLabStudio
      @LiquidLabStudio  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The Mavic took a few minutes. Check to see if plastic is on the sensors. The Mavic Pro is buggy I had to do it twice. It may not hurt to do a factory reset and update it before calibrating. This can also be done in the software DJI Assistant. Can you do me a favor and Subscribe?

      I was having the same issue and I read that one way someone "fixed" the problem was to unplug a second monitor they had attached to their PC. While it could have of course been a coincidence in my case the next time I opened assistant 2 after I unplugged the 2nd monitor I got the calibration button at the end of the tutorials screen. Unfortunately while I got to that point now I only get a blank screen.

    • @LiquidLabStudio
      @LiquidLabStudio  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, I think the monitor thing was a coincidence. The problem is DJI is a Chinese company and they are not interested in digital security for the user and proving their products are safe by filing for the digital signatures software applications, to make their products compatible with windows. Only certain operating systems have loose enough security for them to work. The drone has to communicate from itself, the USB cable and port, the software, operating system, and finally the monitor. I have some instructions one user said works without using mac or Windows 7, I'll post it below.

    I can’t calibrate it said “please reboot the aircraft”

      The Mavic took a few minutes to calibrate. The aircraft is not communicating with the computer properly. This is because the program is in Chinese and not certified/digitally signed as safe. There is a list of workarounds other than Windows 7 in the description. I hope this helps. Can you do me a favor and Subscribe?

      here is solution:
      "Uninstall DJI Assistant 2
      Reboot your PC in maintenance mode (right-click Start menu, then hold shift key and left click "restart")
      The PC will reboot to a blue screen with options...
      Click Troubleshoot.
      Click Advanced options.
      Click Startup Settings.
      Click on Restart.
      On the Startup Settings screen press 7 or F7 to disable driver signature enforcement.
      The computer will take you to windows...
      Reinstall DJI Assistant 2.
      During installation, a command prompt window will appear and you'll be asked to accept some permissions. Go ahead and accept them. Nothing to be afraid of.
      Don't reboot your computer!
      Start DJI Assistant 2
      Plugin Drone and turn on"
      or simple way, find other computer not running windows 10

      Assistant Program is signed in Chinese ... restart computer, shift restart, troubleshoot, allow unsigned apps and programs, then install assistant and calibrate in Windows 10

    Keeps Telling Me To Reboot Drone Fix:
    DJI Assistant 2 keeps asking me to reboot drone when I try to calibrate the Visual Positioning System (VPS) on my PC laptop
    Hope this helps

    I’m getting the reboot aircraft error

    • @LiquidLabStudio
      @LiquidLabStudio  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      The reboot aircraft error, usually doesn't mean reboot aircraft. It is trying to tell you that there is no connection between the aircraft and the computer. Try disabling firewall settings temperately or like in this video use a windows 7 PC. This seems to be the easiest way. Can you do me a favor and Subscribe?

    • @LiquidLabStudio
      @LiquidLabStudio  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not really. They didn't pay to have the software certified it is safe. Can you do me a favor and Subscribe?
