    BIG THANKS! I crashed my drone inside the concrete hall (because of compass error?) After that drone was giving "forward vision sensor calibration error" and I actually thought the sensors are broken. I was searching how-to video to replace the sensors but I found this video. After I did this calibration (and replaced the propellers ofc) it works like a charm again! THANK YOU!

    I did my procedure for my mavic pro 2 just following your instructions I must say that first of all I don't find a double window like you in dji assistance 2 for mavic then once I finish the calibration procedure of all the sensors at the end of the construction of the log file the procedure rikane stops at 0% and is unable to close the procedure I was wondering if you could help me understand why this ever happens and possibly how I can solve it I state that like you I have both an imac and a notebook with windows 11 and on my imac I also installed windows 10 but with both the problem remains thanks for everything and I look forward to your info

    Due to sheer laziness on my part, I neglected anti-collision sensor calibration on all my Mavics, thinking that because I fly all my drones with the obstacle avoidance sensors deactivated, I shouldn't have to bother calibrating them. That logical presumption of mine turned out to be dead wrong because even with all the sensors always turned off my Mavic 1 Pro confounded me for months by stopping randomly during waypoint missions, often with the result that the battery came perilously close to draining low enough for the drone to force-land far from home due to battery charge levels dropping below that critical 10% level.
    By finally biting the bullet and laboriously calibrating the anti-collision sensors on my DJI drones, the stuttering stop-and-go flight behavior of my Mavic 1 Pro ceased immediately and the drone has flown smooth as silk ever since, while also filming sharply focused footage that was inconsistent at best before the obstacle sensor calibration I belatedly carried out. I simply had no idea that failure to calibrate obstacle avoidance sensors is ESSENTIAL regardless of whether those sensors are toggled on or off during flight.
    In trying to calibrate the sensors on my Mavic 2 Pro for the first time, the main problem I have encountered is that after completing the calibration of all sensors front, back, and sides, the calculation phase of the process remains stuck at the 0% stage, and does not budge thereafter. I'll give it another shot but now that I know how absolutely VITAL the calibration of obstacle avoidance sensors is to preventing the loss of the drone, I won't dare fly my Mavic 2 Pro until I succeed in this calibration process and see that calculation indicator scrolls up to the full 100% completion status before I power off the drone and disconnect it.

  • @coltenquackenbush23
    @coltenquackenbush23 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    DJI needs to fix this process, it seems way too complicated, on the rare occasion that I am able to get through the process without countless error messages it stays on 0% calibrated forever, and the only way to get out of it is to quit the app, I need to try on a friends windows computer because on the download for the DJI assistant app it shows you a message that it is not compatible with macOS 11 and later, really disappointing as I have noticed many errors with my drone due to the fact that it hasn't been calibrated.

      Thanks for your question, and as I mentioned in the video, DJI assistant can be very tricky. My suggestion is to plug it in, and walk away from your computer. Go distract yourself with something else for max 1 hour and then go back and check. Sometimes it just takes time to show that it’s connected even though it already is

    • @edwardfigura

      I try to look for dirt particles on top of the cameras as well as poor performance on the app display. For example- sensor detecting object that aren’t there, and viceversa. DJI gives a warning sign on the top left corner “Recalibrate the vision system”.

  • @DLMVegas

    This has got to be the most stupid thing DJI has come up with. I got through this once after an hour of trying to get it to work. Now it's several months later and it wants me to run this again. Not going to happen. The drone works fine and my still shots look fine also. Thanks for this video though. I wouldn't have gotten through the first time without it.

    • @edwardfigura
      @edwardfigura  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Interesting. Maybe try turning your computer off and turning it back on after a few minutes. Sometimes the DJI assistant app can be thrown off by an overloaded RAM. See what giving your computer a rest may do for you. If it doesn’t work, keep doing it like 3-4 more times. If the problem still persists, contact DJI.

    I couldn't calibrate the side sensor because of the usb cable. The assistant can't detect the calibration image. The usb place is totly wrong. What can I do. There is no way to properly fold the arm

    • @thumper8128
      @thumper8128 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      it calibrates just fine with the cable plug in placement. The only issue should be if you dont fold the arms in as the arms, or the props if not removed, may get in the line of sight of the sensor, as long as they are folded in, just up to the cable, it works perfectly fine. Now once you are done with the complete screen follow through, if like me, you get lucky and get a sensor calibration issue, even though every screen was done corrrectly

    • @edwardfigura
      @edwardfigura  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great question. And this is exactly why recalibrating the vision system is so crucial. It’s times like these that you realize you may need to contact DJI and get a new drone. It’s good to catch sensors not working the way you have instead of crashing it first!

    • @jamesedwards8085
      @jamesedwards8085 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have a literally been messing with this for about an hour and a half and I have probably done it seven times and it just won't calibrate it takes forever on a lot of them just to get the sensor to move around the screen to match up with a little green squares it's almost like it locks up in the upper right hand corner and if I do make it through once I get to the very end one where I have to do the left side sensor that's a no go it just will not work at all and it keeps saying to make sure my arm is up which it is so I put it back down and flip it back up And yes a little screen on the lower left-hand corner of my computer is just black instead of showing the little rocks that it would be showing through the sensor screen or camera lens whatever you wanna call it

    • @edwardfigura
      @edwardfigura  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Your best bet is to contact DJI. However, I think there’s one more thing you can try doing. Try wiping your sensors with a safe material. Try to get rid of any dirt or interference with your sensors. Also make sure your battery is over 50% and make sure you are away from metallic surfaces

    • @jamesedwards8085
