Never realized Javed Akhtar had such a deep understanding of India history and politics. It is very unfortunate that today an attempt is being made to slowly transfer India into a Hindu rashtra.

Did he mention Agumbe Ghats? Now, there's a blast from my past.
Almost every summer, we would travel by car from Bombay to my father's farm in a village in Udipi, South Kanara--yes, the very Udipi that gave the world Masala Dosa. In those days, the coastal Konkan route (I17) via Goa wasn't formed. So, we had to take the inland I4 route via Poona, Kolhapur, Belgaum, Hubli. on to Bangalore. You punched through the Western Ghats (the Sahyadri Mountains) in Lonavala--a treacherous climb--and then punched back into South Kanara after Hubli through the Agumbe Ghats.
The Agumbe Ghats held my childhood awe and fascination. There was this menacing mountain looming in front of us like a mighty giant, wondering if it would let our car pass without incident. My father would make an offering at the roadside altar to appease the ghat gods--we did the same at Lonavala.
I wonder what route Javed Saab's entourage took to cross Agumbe Ghats--they must have stopped in Goa and then proceeded to Bangalore. Thank you for indulging my rumination.

U r talkin 500 years back... No boundaries no countries
Kings used to attack and conquer
In 20th century point of view is totally wrong.
Like britisher came to India to rule
And we trashed them out of India
But I don't hate a britisher individual. Why should I
      Is called secularism

Hindus do not consider other's religion absurd. Because hinduism is diverse anyway. It is the oppressive and separatist and anti idolatry stand of other religions that worries us. Because we have suffered loss of intricate temples, lives, land. Its not imagination.

Akbar the great is a chapter in school. What does he mean it wasnt taught? Also if they were all so benevolent why are temples in ruins all over the india. India being wealthy was its default setting, not an Islamic creation.

The mountains and the Himalays belongs to Nepal not India. They should give those stolen land back to Nepal. Indians don't showcase any behaviors that is common amongst folks who live in the mountains.
