Only those people pay attention to these incidentals---whether true or imagined---that are disregarding the content of what is being said. "One of the most influential man (that) ever existed?" I'm assuming you mean in the world of Urdu poetry? Right in the front row, in the middle, is sitting the daughter of Faiz Ahmad Faiz. Akhtar himself mentions Ahmad Faraz, whom he considers to be a greater poet. In the world of post 1947 Urdu poetry, the poets that Javed Akhtar himself would regard as much greater than himself, would include: Josh Malihabadi, Jigar Moradabadi, Faiz Ahmad Faiz, Firaq Gorakhpuri, Ahmad Faraz, Majaz, Noon Meem Rashid, Ada Jafri, Zehra Nigah, Iftikhar Arif, Kishwar Naheed, Fahmida Riaz, Parveen Shakir, Jon Elia, Munir Niazi, Nasir Kazmi, ... Please read these poets if you truly want to understand Urdu poetry.

Pakistani here. First time I am seeing a host on rekhta who can actually speak urdu. Her questions are also amazing and not the usual run of the mill stuff. Her presenting style and smooth non delivery. Amazing
Bada sahi bola hai ant mai, "ye kohinoor hai and inki badi ijjat kijiye". Honge legends Urdu (pure one) me bahut but Javed Akhtar Sir is one of the rarest gem and honour for me who explains everything in the language of common man in simple and complex way at the same time.
I never read books or novels other than my CA course but will definitely read Sir' literature, filme to dekhte hi hai kabhi na kabhi.

I like the way you described Maa . For thirty fours of my married life I always was saying same thing to my husband that if we have to respect Maa, then why not give the respect to my children’s Maa ? This is our culture that men knows to respect mother but mothers are not respecting the new woman who comes in the family . That’s where the disrespect starts . ( I have very successful married life . It’s just I believe in equality.)
