Javed Akhtar's candid conversations are always a pleasure to listen to. Whatever topic he discusses, he speaks openly, without hiding his understanding or knowledge. From his religious or non-religious beliefs to his career in the film industry, relationships, failures, and successes-he shares his insights without holding back. His words resonate deeply, and perhaps there’s no other poet in modern India like him, who not only masters the art of Urdu poetry but also engages thoughtfully in discussions on various subjects.

When I get some free time, I like watching public intellectuals, especially those who share a similar background, like ex-Muslims who are now atheists. Because of this, TH-cam has started suggesting me a lot of videos of Javed Akhtar. I’ve been listening to him for a while now, and every time, I feel amazed by his way of telling stories. I remember watching him on Zee Classic’s program back in the day and being impressed even then.
Javed Akhtar would probably never imagine that someone from a small, remote village in the Karakoram Mountains would become such a big fan of his rational approach. But here I am, in the middle of these towering mountains, never getting tired of listening to him again and again. His thoughts and words are always so powerful, and they leave me thinking every time.

Can we agree that being a Muslim is religious identity and once you decide to leave that religion why can't you just identity as your new identity? Why can't Javed Sb. just say that he is an Atheist.

Christmas’s origin is the pagan winter solstice festival in many parts of Europe which was turned to a Christian festival. But it was Pope Julius 1 that linked the day with Jesus’s birth. So basically church leaders in their christianisation project just co-opted existing pagan festivals. Another example is Easter from the pagan festival of Eostre, goddess of fertility.

lett me break it down in simple words, if an extremist from another religion wants to burn down every muslim's house, Javed Akhtar saying, 'I'm not Muslim, I'm an atheist,' wouldn't save him. They wouldn't care, they'd burn his house down regardless. Islam is a part of his identity that he can't just dissociate from. And he’s fully aware of the paradox so you’re not exactly offering any intellectual breakthrough by pointing it out.

I found it unprofessional on the interviewer’s part that when Javed Sahib started talking about his past struggles with hunger and got emotional, it was fine up to that point as it reflected genuine feelings. However, he continued sniffling later in the interview and even asked for a tissue. This could have been edited out; what was the point of keeping it in the interview? Were they trying to increase ratings by showing that they didn’t edit out any parts to keep it "authentic"? They likely edited out many other parts, but here it was unnecessary to keep showing his visible distress repeatedly. It would have been sufficient to hear his story up to the point he shared his emotions. But continuing to show the sniffling, the teary eyes, and then making a big deal out of it felt to me like an unprofessional and unnecessary attempt to boost ratings.

I found it both amusing and intellectually intriguing when he identified as an Atheist Muslim. The term itself is a fine example of irony-akin to someone labeling themselves a 'Communist Capitalist' or a 'Rightist Leftist.' A Muslim, by definition, is one who submits their will to the Almighty God, while an atheist fundamentally rejects the existence of any deity. This juxtaposition of opposing beliefs makes the term not only ironic but a fascinating paradox of identity and belief.
Anyone foolish enough to call themselves an 'Atheist Muslim' is only revealing their ignorance of Islam's truth. This label disrespects Islam's essence by mixing it with beliefs that deny Allah, showing a shallow understanding of what it truly means to submit to the Almighty.

One can be an ex muslim, an ex Hindu or ex any other faith, but to regard oneself as an Atheist Muslim muslim or an Atheist xian means he or she still has a soft corner fot the faith he belongs to. Jeved Akhtar never speaks, he shuts his trap whenever a hindu hasbeen a victim yet his most Bullshitwood's life falls in danger when a muslim is involved as a victim. In rhat case even Barkha Dutt falls in the same catagory, a wind up merchant that she is. 🇮🇳🕉️🙏

Religion and religious beliefs are personal choices and connect that we hv with the almighty. In every interview, Javed Akhtar highlights that he is an Atheist Muslim. It is his choice to be an atheist, indirectly he is promoting atheism, and that too is also a way of influencing ppl to follow his ideology. If he is able to answer abt the source of his thinking and writing skills then we will talk abt his practices and their authenticity.

Following any faith is one’s personal affair but marketing same personal benefits is not correct. One should be stand for justice rationally.

every one worships someone, we worship Allah the true god and the atheist worship their hedonism, he is using islam conveniently for his benefit by not disassociating it completely while promoting atheism among muslims, we should push for removal pf javed akhtar as a representative of muslims in india in any talk show, podcast, or debate panel, cant have a murtad representing us

Not all atheists worship hedonism. Hedonism actually promised to Muslims in heaven hoor, wine, lot of strength etc. Actually it is Muslims ultimate goal is hedonism.

He is an expert in Urdu language but doesn’t know the meaning of Muslim. Being atheist and Muslim same time, I just couldn’t understand. If you don’t believe in Allah then how can you be a Muslim. Muslim means submit to Allah. I like his romantic poetry but his thoughts are questionable and not impressive.

Javed is poet and a writer, he is skilled to convey lie to be convinced with a sarcastic smile.
When asked about the origin of Eid al- Adha, The Prophet of Islam, Muhammad, is reported to have said, “It is a tradition that has come down to us from Abraham.” The Feast of Sacrifice originates from the historic event when Prophet Abraham was commanded by God in a dream vision to sacrifice his son, Ishmail.
This is witnessed by Jews and Christians as it mentioned in Holy books.
