For liver, as an algerian, it is a delicacy, but it tastes good with garlic rather than onion, it goes in this order: oil, minced garlic, tomato paste, salt pepper chili if you like it hot and caraway is a must, some water to cook the tomato paste well and bring it to a simmer then throw in the liver and cover until it's well cooked. It shouldn't crumble in your mouth or be overtly sticky. If it is, it's old AF.
Liver is really yummy, especially when cooked correctly. Liver tends to be bitter if not cooked correctly so for those who don't know how too cook liver straight from the packaging, i suggest you soak it overnight in some milk to seep most of that bitter out and then add it to a hot pan with onions and garlic to help break down the liver further and then you want to make sure your liver is a 100% cooked through and how to check is by simply pushing your wooden spoon on a piece and it should break in half without a problem. I'd also sugest adding small amounts of water or stock to the liver to keep it from drying out because liver does dry quickly when being cooked. The rest is all up to you and how you want to use it afterwards, i enjoy having my livers cooked in a type of chilli curry sauce but you can make it anyway you like.😊
Also make sure to go through it and trim it first, if you buy it from a butcher at least, often times it still has a lot of connective tissue on there that can be quite chewy and it doesnt break down when cooked. Or you can ask the butcher to clean it up for you but they may nto do it every time

After reading comments about a panettone incidente, and going back to see what people are talking about, and after watching it and as someone that is in fact born and raised in italy, and as someone that is in fact Italian (even tho most of them dont consider me Italian...) My best go-to with liver is frying it, add tomato sauce, mix in chopped parsley, sliced onion, tumeric and served with flatbread

@@gavincotter9326 nah fr bro, I'm from Bangladesh and over here we cook Liver _fresh_(this is SOOO important so that the texture is perfectly soft otherwise it's so bad), and cook it with a FKTON of spices. I kid you not, it comes out tasting outrageously good.

In Germany we have something like spam or rather it’s the same just you can buy it not canned and house made from a butcher. We call it „Leberkäse“ which literally translates to „liver cheese“, and if you just put a slice of that in a „Semmel“ which is like white bread with a hard crust and slap some mustard on there, voila you now have something that many bavarians would call an „LKW“ (short for „Leber Käse Wecker“ (Wecker being another Word for Semmel)) and let me tell you it’s the meal of choice for a break at work, it slaps so try it.

As someone who eats liver frequently: You HAVE to eat it fresh (like, really fresh, within a day of the animal having been killed.), it just tastes... Kind of rusty, otherwise. I also prefer cow liver
