- A nurse's step-by-step guide to swaddling a baby 3 different ways. Swaddling wrapping will help your baby feel safe, secure, and cozy. It may even soothe a cranky or colic baby and help baby stop crying. We learned these swaddles in the hospital on day one from the 3 different hospital nurses we had. Each nurse taught us a different way to swaddle.

Oh thank you for sharing that serious information with me. I hope & pray that your doctor can help you treat it and to get you to a place where you are able to get pregnant. Just to hopefully give you some hope & make you feel hopefully better, I don't usually share this information, but it took us lots of years of trying to get pregnant also. I think when we go through this journey, it just make us that much more appreciative and better mothers if the blessing of motherhood comes to us. Make it loose at bottom part so that the baby can fart and poop, I mean don't even wrap the bottom part. Imagine yourself, can you do that if you are wrapped tightly?
Thank you so much. Congratulations on your pregnancy. What a blessing. May all your children always love happy long healthy lives. I found my daughter to love the swaddle in the first few weeks. As she got to a few months, she didn’t want her arms in. The swaddle in general helped her feel safe and secure while I was sleeping and in between feedings & cuddles.
Hi. I understand what you are saying. Many babies like it secure though as it give them a sense of still being in the womb & helps calm jerking body movements that they don’t do on purpose. Those movements often wake them up and scare them. Secure safe Swaddle is a great way to help baby feel comforted since mommy can’t hold baby 24/7. (Mom has to sleep, shower, bathroom, etc) swaddle works great in those times.
Please check other videos or ask doctor. This doesnt looks right.

Thank you for posting this video. I am anFTM (First Time Mom) and I was having difficulty getting my baby to sleep in his bassinet without hollering and waking the entire neighborhood- lol. Another mom suggested swaddling and after doing some research swaddling is actually recommended for newborns especially since they need to sleep on their backs. THE PARENT WRAP was the easiest to do and IT WORKED!!! Thank you Thank you!!!

I noticed that right away the baby calmed down after being wrapped up. It feels to them as if they are in the womb again and they calm down.
Yes, definitely helps the babies feel more secure. Plus they have lots of uncontrollable reflexes that scare them, so it helps calm that too. I was so grateful that the nurses took the time to teach us these three methods. Thanks for watching. xoxo

that is actually NOT what happens to swaddled babies.
they don't calm down or feel like they are back in the womb, they are dissociating and are under heavy stress, hence they don't make any noise anymore and are "calm".
this is not good for the baby at all and this is not my opinion, u can look at this article:

not only does swaddling increase stress levels, lower breast feeding and lower baby's weight, BUT
it can also result into hip issues down the line.
again not an option, but based on scientific studies and articles.
also, u can try to use logic and empathy here:
how would u feel, just having been born and now all your movement will get completely restricted, u can't move your hands and legs, everything locked down, u don't know what's going, u may not even be on mummy either.
that would be a horrible experience.
and if that is to much for u to imagine , imagine being against your will thrown into a whole body straight jacket against your will.
swaddling harms the baby, that is the reality.

Not at all advisable to wrap and lock down the kid....I think its really a illogical trend with few people.

When you swaddle baby make sure their legs can stretch and bend☺️
Swaddling isn’t necessary after 6-8 weeks. Just remember that swaddling is to help them feel like they’re in the womb, safe and secure, but can still kick.😁

This makes me cringe and feel claustrophobic. This should never ever be done. Have you been lying in bed and get an itch on your face...Can you imagine not being able to rub that itch away??...All you need to do is put mittens on a baby...so as not to scratch. This is absolutely terrible. It is cruelty beyond belief!!
Wrong. Babies stay curled up safe and comfortable in the womb for 9 months with limited movement, they don’t even recognize an itch on their faces when they are just newborns so that’s a bad example. Also if a baby is uncomfortable they would cry and when they’re this young they don’t really cry bc they’re swaddled. Babies also have the Moro reflex when they’re newborn and that can cause them to wake out of their sleep and cry but being swaddled helps prevent that. That’s okay if you personally don’t like swaddling but stop comparing a grown human to newborns

The baby is so cute and healthy. I can hold a baby like that for hours.
One purpose of swaddling is to soothe the newborn by reminding her of the womb. However, a fetus has freedom of movement in utero that is not possible when swaddled. Her post-birth freedom to wiggle toes and fingers (and put them in her mouth) and wave arms and legs is part of the developmental process and helps develop both muscle control and the nervous system. Recent studies have shwon that movement helps improve cognitive functioning in people of all ages, and infants are at a stage of rapid cognitive development. They can't explore how their bodies work when swaddled

My eldest daughter is five now, she was born 8lbs and my second daughter was born via c-section at 10lbs lol she's three now and my third was born naturally at 7lbs (thank god) and she’ll be 1 this September.

There's an updated way to swaddle babies. They updated to have the babies arms up like t Rex arms because then you can read what the baby is communicating with their hands and arms.

I love your cute big baby (I love all babies) but I just want to mention that not all babies like being swaddled. They are all different. I got concerned when your baby fussed the second and third time that she got swaddled and didn't seem too happy. I remember my mother telling me that I hated it and she gave up. I acted like I was tied up and started screaming because I was restricted of moving my arms and legs and couldn't suck on my hands. I was 8lbs 6oz and had 2 brothers born after me weighing over 9lbs who also hated being swaddled but we turned out OK. Just thought I would share this with you and wishing you all the luck in the world with your beautiful baby

December 22nd, 2018! I get to meet my little baby boy! Its exciting because it's a guessing game with what he will look like. His dad is white with blonde hair and blue eyes. I'm black with brown eyes and curly hair. Their is a 50/50 chance of blue or brown eye color. Cant wait to see how he turns out after hes done cooking 🤣🤣🤣..

Bobbi Smith I was due the 20th but my water broke and I had her on the 10th! C section cause she wouldn’t turn lol. But also these swaddles are bad for babies because not being able to move their legs can cause hip dysplasia

Neither of my children were ever wrapped up like they are in a Straight Jacket and both of them are 100% normal today. Neither one has any back, leg, shoulder, wrist, or hip problems. I think whomever thought up this Straight Jacket routine
should have to be tied up in one also and see just how freaky it seems and feels. Common sense tells you that it's not normal. Some Female down below stated how it makes the baby feel like it's back in it's mothers womb again. Well, That's all wrong!!!!!! If the baby need to feel like it was back in it's mothers womb, God would have made the growing period in the womb 11 or 12 months instead of 10 months minus 14 days.
All this NEW AGE SWADDLING bull shit is another way for the LAZY ASS MOTHERS to stop from holding their babies and patting them instead they are wrapping them up like MUMMY's just not to hold them. I think it's Inhumane and it will cause major joint and mental problems in the child's life. Just pick up your baby /Infant and hold the poor little thing and pat her back gently like a mother is supposed to do. Stop following this NEW AGE HORSE SHIT !!!!!

I always love to see these types of baby video, these little divine blessings baby face make me joyful. I feel like to cuddle them after seeing their cute, innocent & chubby face🤗. But I'm not married even I don't have any plan of getting married in between 2years.
In my opinion, this swaddling which would like to reproduce the posture of the baby protected in the mother's womb does not convince me very much. I find this bandage equivalent to a constriction .. and then for how long? I would opt for something softer !!!

Agree. While I don't agree with swaddling at all, I've watched too many videos of the blanket ends being crammed behind the baby and cringed at the thought of the baby, trapped against the wadded blanket for hours

That’s very sweet. I still hold mine so tight & shes 4 years old now. The swaddling worked for us though while I (mama) & daddy slept. Too many risks of holding baby while parents are sleeping. Although it would be awesome to hold baby all night, that can unfortunately be very dangerous. So that’s when swaddling is very comforting. Thanks for visiting our channel.
