My aunt was born in the 1890's and lived to 100. When she was in her 90's I asked about the changes she has seen in her life. She went from horse and wagons delivering ice blocks, dirt roads etc... to the space shuttle. What she said sticks with me to this day and I am now 57 and it is this.
Things are moving in a too fast pace and it will get out of control. Technology took years for people to adapt to, now as the good doctor stated you learn something and it is useless in about two years. I seen the beginnings of this when I was a volunteer grief counselor. The older generations had a thought process, means of accepting, going through the process of human emotions. The younger ones seek a fix, a reboot if you will. The human experience and interaction coupled with the break up of the two parent family etc... Therefore embracing technology and false "friends" such as farce book to fill the void in my observation has produced Narcissist emotions.
Just wonderful interviews. Thank you Danica. Subscribed and liked indeed!

I had never thought about the concept of “truth” explained in quite that way, but as a scientist I see the validity of that definition. A story is true if the lessons it teaches create the results it promises. This is such a powerful way of looking at it. I listen to young people talk about the “truth” of socialism all the time, but they focus on the claims, not the results. The results demonstrate that socialism does not deliver on its lofty claims. If our students were taught to pursue truth, rather than social justice, our world would be a much better place because we could focus on more effectively on improving the lot of humanity, rather than wasting resources and creating misery by chasing after false promises.

    • @MasterOfMisc
      @MasterOfMisc 3 ปีที่แล้ว

I am also with you. I am empirical in nature. I love the scientific method. (Hypothesis, Method, Test & Result). The result you get back is empirical. Actually observed with your own eyeballs. And so that's why I really like the way JP explained that we as humans love stories. Its in our nature to tell and listen to great stories and we can take so much away from them. And following from that, that when reading the stories from the bible, the truth we should be taking away is the core message. And not focus too much on the the actual specific actions that happened throughout the stories. Anyway, intriguing.

This is one of the most amazing interviews I have ever seen and listened to.
The hostess is truly interested in her guests answers.. She obviously deeply admires and respects him.
To watch her ask questions of him is like joining into an around the fire, deep conversations.
It doesn’t feel like an interview.
It feels like she asks the question because it came out of her heart on the fly, in the spur of the moment.
There are honest questions. She follows the conversation, like watching a wheel on an upside down bicycle and taps the wheel with a question to just keep the momentum.
She is beautiful to look at, there is no doubt, but her mind, her interest and her thoughtfulness are her most beautiful traits.
She even makes him look handsome, because he is able to express his thinking freely…. As if he were thinking these things through on his inlet and in his own time.
She thinks his answers through and asks about the next idea that came from the previous point.
It’s the first time I’ve listened to her, or even seen her. But I am hooked.
They both inspire me. Thank you both. God bless you.

Especially someone whos helped thousands of people (realistically more) alp over the world. Ive followed jordan closely since he first went on Joe Rogan and ive watched 90% of the videos featuring, hosting, hosted by etc etc Jordan and i have 0 clue what youre talking about in claiming he said "i have ghosts in my trunk" or that "ancient people painted dna molecules" and obviously when one is in a state of sheer terror/anxiety brought on by a crazy reaction due to a chemical in the cidar he drank (which to give it context, hes on a meat only diet and the only time he deviated from basically meat and water was with the cider which threw him into a terrible state) and clearly he believes it, and its likely that he may have slept an hr here and there for almost a month but didnt realize it due to the terrible reaction he had to a food/beverage he introduced into his diet and since it was the only one thing he changed its safe to say that something in the cider was likely the culprit. Everything you said except the least fantastical claim is 100% bullshit designed solely to hate on a truly good human lol. Why dont you add some context to your ridiculous slanderous claims. Well, no because with context one must actually add detail and when adding details one must be thorough in laying out what was said, why it was said, who it was said to, what was the conversation about and was it said in jest, seriousness or as a metaphor for example. You made some crazy stupid ass claims that anyone who follows jbp minimally would immediately know you are lying and speaking without an ounce of integrity or honor whatsoever.

When I was about twelve years old, she said, "You may do anything you want, but do not bring shame to the family name." This is the type of wisdom that has been lost, with people fighting to gain the most sympathy, which is now rewarded by popular culture. So what happens when everyone is crying, and unwilling to carry a burden because of the perceived injustice? I think the answer to that is obvious, and clearly visible in the cultural discourse.

Law is a necessary precondition to salvation, so to speak; necessary, but insufficient. Law provides the borders that limit chaos, and allows for the protected maturation of the individual. Law disciplines possibility, and allows the disciplined individual to bring his or her potentialities-those intrapsychic spirits-under voluntary control. The law allows for the application of such potentiality to the task of creative and courageous existence-allows spiritual water controlled flow into the valley of the shadow of death. Law held as an absolute, however, puts man in the position of the eternal adolescent, dependent upon the father for every vital decision, removes the responsibility for action from the individual, and therefore prevents him or her from discovering the potential grandeur of the soul."
“Meaning is manifestation of the divine individual adaptive path”
“Meaning is the ultimate balance between… the chaos of transformation and the possibility and…the discipline of pristine order”
“Meaning is an expression of the instinct that guides us out into the unknown so that we can conquer it”
“Meaning is when everything there is comes together in an ecstatic dance of single purpose”
“Meaning means implication for behavioral output”
I don’t know, Dad, but I think I have discovered something that no one else has any idea about, and I’m not sure I can do it justice. Its scope is so broad that I can see only parts of it clearly at one time, and it is exceedingly difficult to set down comprehensibly in writing

Hello from Saskatchewan. I was surprised to hear, that you have relatives in Canada.
Great interview Danica. I have followed Jordan for many years now. He is very intelligent, very deep and sensible, in his thinking and a tough person. Which makes him very tough, to interview for a normal person. The interviewer needs to be able, to keep the conversation going, with intelligent questions, to reply intelligently, etc. and you preformed in spades. You are a beautiful person, in mind, body, ability and intelligence.
I am a NASCAR fan, and miss you, not driving anymore. I have always been a fan of yours and I respect you for being able to preform, in a male dominated sport. I wish you could have went further. I have a new found respect for you. Keep up the good work. Thank you for being who you are.

As I watch more, I'm impressed with Danica's handling of this enormous intellect. Notably letting him speak and her knowledge embedded in her questions. I see that she was just trying to make friends with Peterson as part of how she does interviews. But I stand by my take on eh and aboot.

I have been a follower of JP for a few years but I have now discovered a new dimension of Dana!! The image of her as just a race car driver and now as a young intelligent woman. Great interview. Her strong concentration and focusing while he speaks can't be faked.

I've listened to a ton of interviews with Dr. Peterson. You took a unique approach to this interview which allowed me to understand how he thinks. Definitely the best Peterson interview I've seen!

A unique approach? Not adding anything and letting your guest talk for the entirety of the interview is not, in my opinion, unique. I would describe her as inexperienced.

Could not agree more that Jordan
Peterson is the greatest thinker in the world at the present.
Wishing him, his family, and faithful followers a much happier, healthier, and more prosperous 2022. May God Bless us all.

You drive questions like you drive a race car. Very smart and well informed questions. Been watching Dr. Peterson for awhile now. He' s my replacement for Dr Joseph Campbell. He knows so much about all aspects and connections to his field of interest. Thanks so much for your podcast and for having Dr Peterson as a guest. Loved every minute.

This was excellent to watch! Big kudos! Also it's great to watch a genuine chat without the interviewer spending the whole time trying to shut him down or trip him up. The both of you were great!
Edit - I just realised Jordan looks like a Sith Lord in this episode. xD
