If you use a "50" tier gpu or lower and a cpu that's not power hungry, you'll be fine. But if your power draw is anywhere in the 400s then I'd look into a new PSU. Get *at minimum* an 80+ bronze from a good brand and be sure to get at least 100-200 more wattage than you need. Gold or modular PSU would be better obviously but that'll depend on your budget.

To select proper PSU you need some literacy and common sense. First, find out TDP of your CPU and GPU and sum them. Then check +12V current rating of your PSU , and multiply them (i.e. 12 V x 30 A) . This result should be at least 25% higher than aforementioned sum of TDPs.

@@itmkoeln That isn't the point he's making. It's very well documented that Windows 11 will run on older hardware. His point is that someone is selling (what I assume to be) a licensed copy of Windows 11 on unsupported hardware. That raises concerns ranging from Windows 11 refusing to update itself at some point in the future, to and/or excessive future support calls if/when Windows 11 stops working on that class of hardware. Unsupported Windows 11 on old hardware is a great choice for end users, but it's a very questionable choice for an OEM.

People even ask 200€ for 4960x and 100€ for 3960x those are X79 CPUs… Based on Ivy Bridge and even Sandy bridge…
That is why you would normally find a E5 v3 or v4 Xeon paired with these Chinese X99 boards. Back in the Broadwell and Haswell Days Xeons shared the socket and would work on desktop 1150 and enthusiast 2011-3 boards. With 6th Gen and the Arrival of DDR4 with Skylake Xeons were microcode locked out on anything but Workstation boards…

Hah, this video looks like you had a hell of a lot of fun doing it; this is absolutely the sort of kit I love playing around with; everything works great; with just a few minor tweaks this could still be a very capable machine, even if not top tier anymore. Was recently using a 5930K, and with a cheap 240mm AIO that sits 24/7 at 4.2/4.3 GHz (I would absolutely feed the machine some higher quality memory if I had any lying around also, but alas 2400MHz, some 2993/3000/3200 with the better latency and quad channel would be a blast), so this CPU almost certainly has at least another 20-30% to give; hopefully eliminating the CPU bottleneck on the GPU (Haswell at 4GHz plus is still good if not top tier, until recently Intel didnt actually bump the IPC much, they just improved the efficiency so they could attach more cores, ramp clocks higher and higher, without it needing 500W to do it...!) which along with the RAM should turn out a very very capable RGB-puke machine; but the best sort of RGB puke; the ones that actually turn out to be capable and not just living by the RGB.
An overclocked 5960X though is likely to kill that unsuspecting Gamemax PSU, the 5930K at 4.3 consumes something like 200-250W by itself :D

the motherboard code readout "19" is most likely a DIMM error. When enabling "overclocking" it's probably looking for a dual or quad channel memory configuration so it fails. Also the 5950x supports 2133MHz RAM maximum, so could be a problem there. You may need to enable overclocking AND configure the memory in the BIOs before rebooting. Finally, you should check out Miyconst for a BIOS version for that motherboard that actually fixes the Intel Turbo Boost.

In terms of the memory, on these motherboards you sometimes need to manually set dual channel/quad channel memory in the bios. That may be why you didn't see a performance increase from the ram. Some of them don't actually support quad channel even tho they say it so it depends on which board you got.

One down side to these OEM brand pre builds is the bloat ware obviously, which can at least be removed & cleaned up. The bigger problem is their use of Proprietary motherboards, MB stand off mounts, CPU cooler brackets & other connectors & components that aren’t easily replaceable with standardized PC parts ATX, M-ATX, AM4 or newer Intel compatible components ect.
