you did a beautiful job! another way to help keep a dress up, especially with strapless dresses is to put a grosgrain ribbon belt on the inside of the dress. tack the ribbon at the seams and put a large hook and eye like you would find on pants at the back. make sure the ribbon is snug when hooked. The ribbon belt on the inside will carry the weight of the skirt at the waist instead of dragging the whole top of the dress down

You kept all the emotions intact in the return of Mums lovely dress . Sensitively done indeed . By the way I just loved that heavenly bridal bouquet. No clutch of tightly bound flower stems with the flowers jammed into a clump , but a graceful cascade of gorgeous colours flowing from her hands down that dress . wow !!.

Wow it turned out very nice, and that train is *extra*!. A wedding dress makeover reminds me of my prom in 2003. I bought a wedding dress at a consignment shop for 100$, it was similar to belle's in Beauty and the Beast with the bottom gathers, but had sleeves, etc. I just took off the sleeves and folded the neckline a bit to make a sleeveless heart neck line (it was already boned). I sewed the edges by hand in (and I'm sure I used a bit of hot glue too on the inside? I had not clue what I was doing)...But it turned out pretty good, especially when the fashion at the time was huge poofy skirt dresses costing hundreds of dollars. Even 4 years later in 2007 when my sister graduated, the style was already so much sleeker!
