Not a hard decision in my opinion.
The “borrowed” dress….. the remake of her mother’s dress…… is absolutely Stunning!
And it has what no other bridal gown has…… sentimental value.
    First…. It’s a custom original
Second….. it’s her moms dress….. which her grandmother purchased.
That’s a win, win, win…… in my opinion.
    Love it❣️

I loved the re-imagined 80s dress because it was different, and I thought it incorporated new elements on the design, too. The sentimental value was big for me. I liked the first dress but it wasn't unusual. The bride buy both - wear one at wedding and the other the reception.

    • @ksmith8360

Well said. The new dress IS basic. The way that the new dress is viewed today is the same way that people viewed the mom's dress in the 80's. In other words, won't stand the test of time. It'll look dated in a few years. The borrowed dress was stunning and with meaning. Reminds me of Grace Kelly style.

It's a beautiful dress she chose and her borrowed dress was stunning as well. Her mother knew that it would be changed and doesn’t change the fact that it would be stuck in dam storage most likely forgotten. Once in awhile they will choose it but the mother knew the risk. I mean It’s your choice to hand it over or you can keep shit but you shouldn’t let it control you. Cherish the moment and memories move forward. She made the wrong choice; a wedding is not a “sexy” event. A marriage is a forever commitment between the husband and the wife but it ALSO combines families. Carly’s grandmother chose Carly’s mother’s wedding dress. This beautifully re-fashioned gown retains essential elements of the original dress and would be a way to include her deceased grandmother in the wedding. If she wants her husband to cry as she walks up the aisle, this would be the right choice. I, too, hope she re-considers. Here’s a thought. She could be married in the elegant gown (which cost less than 1K in alterations) and buy the new gown for her reception and party. A win-win!
