Great to see you and Aslan again. No contest, the narrowboat wins hand down for me. Nothing can compare to the gentle gliding along in the water enjoying the beautiful countryside. Well Kevin, I think you are a treasure on TH-cam (cruising or more recently camping)-loved all of it. The pattern I’ve seen with most cruising vloggers-(Dave, Robbie)- hitting a wall-eventually trying new endeavors. I think your fans have spoken -we’d watch Paint dry with you, so no worries. Enjoy your holidays and cheers to a better 2022-hopefully with more of you😊👍
Continuous Cruise! Absolutely! So peaceful... Beautiful Countryside... You do such an Amazing Job with your Narrowboat Vids! I have watched em all 2 times through now! Peace! Be Safe Out There!
Kevin, yours was the very first narrowboat channel I found. I fell in love with narrowboats through your adventures in leaving the rat race behind for a simpler life. I was so relieved to hear that your Aslan is not for sale. There is no chugg chugg as lovely. I’ll see you when I see you.
Living in the US I've thought how a contemporary here could replicate your canal series. Besides the excellence you personally bring to it , the uniqueness of narrowboating would be very difficult if not impossible to do here. The scenery , relaxing nature of narrowboating and travelogue are most compelling. Thanks

You nearly had me going with the Aslan story but I had watched cruising the cuts vlog that the other Aslan was on . Anyway keep up the great vlogs Kev whatever it is bike , hike or cruise they're all great. 👍👍
I was just going to say well done for walking on the correct side of the road when you said it yourself. I live in a semi rural area and the amount of times I see people walking on the wrong side! Only discovered your vlogs in recent times and now addicted and binge watching! 🌞
My Mom always told me "never underestimate a typical day". So good to hear Aslan again and enjoy each day. See you when we see you. Cheers from Seattle! :-)
Aslan’s Roof looks great! I honestly think you’re in the winners seat either road you choose. However, I enjoy motorcycles myself, but the peacefulness the cruising seems to offer would be quite hard for me to set aside. Just watching settles the soul, I can only imagine how that feels in reality. Have a Merry Christmas too, Kevin.
My thoughts seem to be shared by many people kevin judging by the comments, it's like finding an old favourite jumper in the back of the cupboard and feeling all cosy and warm when watching one of your vidoes, great to see you again
I quite enjoyed the trip, Kevin! Being a denizen of the USA's hurricane zone, I know just what you mean about mass media hyping the normal problems of life to levels of absurdity beyond all known philosophies! With no other information upon which to base a guess, I'm tempted to think that the popularity of vintage diesels on narrowboats is due to a great extent of your videos of you chugging along in Aslan. It's such a happy sound!
Excellent all around. As an across the pond viewer, this lifestyle was so refreshing and bizarre to me at first, I was instantly hooked. I truly belive this is something you were born to do, as you do it so well. The continuous cruises are a remarkable adventure. An excellent example is the Llangollen. Not your favorite, I'm sure, but and adventure with a climax, none the less. With you as our guide, there are weeks of quality entertainment with the obvious amount of investment you put in. We'll be waiting with bated breath for your next installment to the wonderful world of Kevin and Aslan. Thank you for what you do. A safe and merry Christmas to you, brother.
Glad to see you and Aslan back. Miss the travels on the canals. For what ever reason I find it very relaxing. Could be the two cylinder engine sound which reminds me of my old John Deere tractor. Stay safe my friend.

I found you in early 2018, caught up on Narrowboat episodes, and have watched ever since. Your videos are soothing, warming, friendly, inviting, and entertaining. All things we need in this world right now. I think no matter what you choose to do, as long as you are happy doing it, we will all keep tuning in. Regardless, a Thank You is in order. You have brought joy to viewers by sharing your life on Aslan. I think it's safe to say that most, if not all, of us are enjoying what you share and will be with you as long as you will have us. Peace, Joy, and Warmth Kevin.
It was wonderful hearing the putt putt of Aslan"s engine again. Enjoyed the video and hearing from you again. Thanks for the videos through the years. Hope to see you again on the water.
I have enjoyed all your cruising canal videos because it has taught me how people just want simpler lives away from the hustle and bustle of cities. Thank you for showing how beautiful England and the rest of the UK is through all the Long Narrow Boat series.
What a pure delight to see a notification on my phone that you had posted a vlog! Oh how I love the marriage between you and Aslan, your dry humour is a breathe of fresh air in a world that has become 'you can't say or do that!' From the start I saw a broken man setting off on his new lifes journey....years on i see a happy man making more decisions in life, I wish you well wether you turn right or left, I hope that we, the followers of your journey can come along with you in whatever you decide to do. Stay safe Kevin, stay well and its tara a bit from me x
I have missed your cheerful smiling face. Please keep making your videos as it is an escape for me. I love the canals and the scenery and the wildlife, as well as your commentary. Maybe someday i can visit England but until then I visit by watching your videos. thank you so much for making them.
🤗 I’m so glad your not selling Aslan I love to hear you talking and her purring in the background as the beautiful scenery goes by. You have made it all seem as if you were meant be together.
Thoroughly enjoy any videos you post. Personally I love living on the canals through you. Inspired by your choices and what you have done for your life and how you look at the world around you. Keep chugging.
@@CountryHouseGent Amazing ... we came back early and went along the leicester branch to pay homage ... a photo on facebook as we past yelvertoft and where aslan was launched. Will post some more photos over the next few days on facebook. 88 locks between Weedon and Warwick - that was tough.
Thanks for the update Kevin. Glad to hear that you are doing well. I hope what ever you decide to do brings you joy! Happy Holidays until we hear from you again.
Whilst I don't watch constantly - I do love your videos, your style and thought process. You're a person after my own heart. I prefer the cruising videos over the biking videos but as others have said. You do you.
You appear happier than i've ever seen you, and i've watched most of them... more than anything, i felt you to be a more balanced person. The past covid business has caused many of us anger, loss and frustration... yes you ranted a bit at first, so did i... but the respite from our 'normal' lives has helped some among us to begin to see a new paradigm,.. looking forward to your next vid, whenever is okay. Thanks for opening your narrowboat life to us...
I'll go out on a limb here and bet the overwhelming majority want you to be cruising and filming again, but if you're happy, I'm happy. Thoroughly loved this vlog. Thanks.
Found your videos at the beginning of the pandemic and they always manage to take me to a comfortable state of mind. I live in Austin, TX/USA, and the beautiful scenery in your videos captivated my attention and let me forget about the craziness going on around the world. Since this video highlighted your fork-in-the-road quandary over motorbiking vs. continuous cruising, I thought I would share my two-cents' worth from a viewer's point of view across the pond. I am an old Harley Mama of sorts, so I share your love for keeping your knees in the breeze. However, no amount of hi-tech equipment can make a video from the rider's point of view that will take me to that comfortable, calm state of mind your continuous cruising videos ALWAYS manage to take me. My vote: continue sharing the beautiful world of canal life from Aslan's point of view. Safe travels, regardless of your mode. God speed.
Kevin, it was great to see you back on the water with Aslan. I enjoyed accompanying you on your walk too. I for one, would be very happy to see you back continuous cruising, but that’s because I’m not into motorbikes and love the peace and tranquility of the canals. It just felt so right to see you and Aslan chugging along again. Thank you for the Christmas wishes. I hope you have a good Christmas too. Looking forward to more from you when you are ready. All the very best from Connie.
I for one have really missed the chug chug of Aslan and your chats. I really love the way you capture the countryside and the canal side in particular. Of course up to you, but I vote please for more continuous cruising. I don't think - speaking for myself - that you need to do complicated vlogs, I just like sharing being on Aslan with you and your comments as you slowly meander along over the water and occasionally stroll around villages.
Greetings from Louisiana USA. So happy to see you back cruising on Aslan! My wife and I love your slow and easy style and videos. Retired now, we are RV motorhome cruisers and appreciate your canal meandering and nature vids. There is no better way to deal with the stresses of our world than solitude and meditation in the midst of God’s natural beauty and sounds. Blessings and peace.
Love watching you & Aslan. I stay away from the news because they are ridiculous. Oddly enough they make the US situation sound as dire as the UK. Prices are up on a lot of stuff, but that's what prices do - they go up and down and back up again. (FYI the only candles lit in my house are the kind that smell wonderful.) The new paint looks fabulous by the way. Thanks for another episode 🙂
During the lockdowns & craziness of Covid I discovered your videos on Amazon Prime. Your continuous cruises were a bright spot, especially as I nursed my 93 mom back to health after a bad fall. Like others have mentioned, your vlog was a balm to the soul, and the sound of Aslan’s motor is so comforting. Anyway, FWIW, I think you should do your motorbike cruise-but without a camera, just for you! You deserve it. The complexity of riding a motorbike is enough on its own. Sending all the best. Glad you’re happy & healthy, stay safe. Merry Christmas! Cheers!
I surely enjoy your content, but understand that you may need to change things up. I find it hard to believe it has been 4 years. You have introduced me to something I find fascinating and SO very enjoyable. Good luck in your future endeavors and thanks again for sharing. 😊
I was so excited to hear the sound of Aslan's engine again! I can't explain why, but I find his chugging to be very soothing. I had to press pause to make a pot of tea so I could settle in and enjoy it properly 😃☕
I’d personally love to see more continuous cruising videos. Watching your videos are a great escape for me. And Aslan’s putputput is a perfect reminder to slow down and experience life. Best wishes to you, whichever direction you decide to turn.
You must make your own choice, but I hope you choose narrow boating. There is a joy and unique perspective in your narrowboat videos that I find inspirational. Best wishes.
Oh my! So Happy to see You and Aslan again. Watching you is so charming, Calming and Peaceful in a world filled with Chaos! Aslan's sound and your voice is Very Comforting! Thank you for sharing again. Please please do more videos! My favorite thing is to take a candle light bath and watch your videos, Restores my soul. ❤❤❤
Good to see you again, always a pleasure to watch- if indeed we don’t see you before, have a very merry Christmas and wishing you a happy ,healthy new year 👍👍👍
So nice to see you and Aslan! I’m sure most of us would like to see you cruising.....but the important part is seeing you and following your adventures.......Enjoy the Fall and early Winter.....see u in December.
Nice country around Garstang and Lancaster, ‘know the latter well, met my wife at St.Martins college in Lancaster. Good vlog, good to see you and Aslan out and about again; marina life I am sure gives you a sense of home, but narrowboats were meant to move continuous cruising gets my vote. Regards Simon
We miss the continuous cruising too, but "Mama always said you’ve got to put the past behind you before you can move on and you have to do the best with what God gave you.”
Kevin, great to see you out and about on Aslan again. Came across you videos on Amazon Prime last year and truly enjoyed your commentary with the chug, chug, chug of Aslan in the background. Have been following you on TH-cam over the last year. Just watched this video and am amazed at the number of comments. You are a phenomenon! Good luck and merry Christmas.
The only thing better than continuous cruising with you is going for a walk with you. You are looking very good (like the hair cut) and glad you are healthy and happy. Been at those cross roads many times in my life. I am sure you will do what is right for you. Aslan looks great too. Wishing you all the best❣️
Completely agree with your comments about the media. Their role is to spread fear and negativity and where there isn't any - to create it ! That aside...does it have to be all or nothing between cruising or biking ? Would it be possible between marinas, garages and trains to find a way of enjoying the best of both worlds? All the best for your future endeavours...and for Christmas 😃🌲
Not sure you'd need to worry too much about finding new things to film -- it's the sound of Aslan, your chats, and the countryside I think we all love the most. Not trying to sway you either way, and you should follow your heart, but wanted to throw my 2 cents in...
I love your continuous cruising content. I'm not sure if I would be interested in motorcycle touring as it's not relaxing like the cruising for the viewer.
KEVIn!! You really had me going there when you said Allan was up for sale ! So glad you’re keeping the boat and will probably do more CC in the future. Yes there’s nothing like it, do it while health and mobility allow!! MEANWHILE, the same goes for your bike! All of us that watch your videos just your company and point of view, so whatever you choose for your next project, please do it because YOU enjoy it! TTFN. Stay safe on that bike, see you when we do. And THANK you again for taking the time, and trouble to include us. 🌟👏👍☕️. Joan
Glad you are well- if we don’t see you, please have a good rest of the year and Christmas period. Those that know you, or feel like they know you, understand and get it. Do what makes you happy, zero regrets.
So pleased to see you cruising again.... and glad your keeping your boat!!! We sold our clasic working boat and was told the same think.... that it would takes ages to sell as they are a niche market.. however it sold within 48 hours!!!! Now got another boat...!! Moving onboard for good in the spring.... hubby has made your right hand turning in the road and has sold his bike after 25 years of biking so that we can cruise constantly... a hard decision to make but as you said you never know what life will throw at you round the corner and you definitely dont know what you are going to get.... Stay safe, until next time Xxx
Hi Lynette and smooth sailing on your new 'course'. Can fully appreciate the pain of your hubby selling his pride and joy (removes hat and bows head). It's suprising though how a major change of direction can often only require disposing of a few significant choice items, in order to be 'good to go'. xx
A nice relaxing autumn break sounds perfect. We’ll see ya when we see ya. Thanks for sharing the beauty and fun of the canals through your personality and vlogs. Maybe cruise for the winter and spring and pick up the motorbike trips in summer? Who knows what the future will bring🙂. Happy holidays and a wonderful new year CHG.
A great, thoughtful, video. If I had Aslan I would go back over the Ribble Link and visit more places in Yorkshire and Derbyshire. I hope you have good times whatever you decide to do. Keep well.
Take a break and enjoy yourself! Whether on your bike or on Aslan, I'll find you and continue following you. It started out being about going along with you and seeing canal life and places I'd never see otherwise. I've enjoyed that and am now more interested in seeing whatever you do as long as you care to share with us. As you know, you have a big family out here.
Hey man, you, like me recently, remembered how much you enjoy something. I started walking they countryside again, mapping footpaths on a map and just going on an adventure, seeing things you don't get to see elsewhere even on my motorbike. Id love if you could continuous cruise and do motorbikes for fun, even if it means no cameras, maybe rent a garage and have a few cheaper bikes dotted around the country, moor up and go for a ride! Whatever you do, enjoy it, but don't lose that sense of adventure... We're not here for long, you can rest when you're dead (or very old at least).
I've been watching your videos on TH-cam and Prime. I find them absolutely fascinating and peaceful. As someone who lives in the desert region of the Southwest USA your adventures are almost beyond my imagination - so much water. Thanks for all your hard work and take care during your much needed break.
That caravan floating in the winding hole looked ill at ease. As did the fibreglass bath tub screaming down the cut. I think the reason that historic boats are flying out, is down in part to your wit and repartee and general good charm. Loved the video, Keep it up as the actress said to the Bishop.
Great to hear from you Kevin.......Aslan is looking awesome........great to have a lovely walk in beautiful countryside.........stay safe.......thanks for sharing
I never get tired of seeing the sights you share while slowly cruising on the canals and hearing the sound of the steady engine mixed with your commentary. When you get tea, I pause you and I get tea! Cheers!
Thanks Kevin for doing what you do! I love it! Like many others Aslan’s engine note is music to my ears. I enjoy your commentary and am always interested to listen to what you have to say. It’s great to know you are fit and well in mind and body. Best of luck in you decision making.
Hi Kevin. I just wanted you to know that watching travels by narrowboat is the thing that got me through this past year of the covid stuff. I was alone at home as well as at work as I was the only person at my office building for many months. as others have stated, your series is a peacefull, entertaining, informative, and funny series that helped me fight off my horrible depression. you may very well have saved my life.. Thank you sir and I look forward to more soon!
Just settled down watch your latest installment, and I hear “Aslan for sale…” (popcorn drops to the floor) Relieved you were only playing a practical joke. Thanks again for another episode. You know you must be talented when hundreds turn out to watch you wash your dishes!
I wonder how much your videos have created a buying frenzy for narrowboats, Kevin? I’d never even heard of them before I stumbled onto your channel on TH-cam. Fascinating, relaxing, interesting, etc.
Actually, we enjoy your narrow boat travels the most. Wishing you a wise decision and a lovely next few months through year end! Thanks for your videos!
Ahh, Kevin. Your narrowboat vids are such a balm to my soul! I love the sounds of nature, the commentary, just listening to Aslan chug away contentedly, and looking at the world around you. I wish you didn't have to choose. Is there no way to balance the two? Maybe a season of narrowboat, and a vacay tour occasionally on the motorbike? I don't know what the answer for you is, but do know these narrowboat rides bring healing, and i suspect for you too. I don't think in life it has to be one or the other. Following one for awhile and then having a season of the other would keep life interesting! I wish you the best in whatever you choose of course. And i'll be always grateful for these armchair travels with you on the canals.
Never give up anything you love, I like all directions you go, do a little of each, No need to rush into any direction, The eclectic nature of your Chanel’s is my voyeur trip. Be as happy as you need to be. And stop caring what the trolls spew. They have as much of my respect as the “news” does.

Yes Yes Yes ... another log from CHG. (I just come back from our week on the grand union). Good to see you back Kevin.
Cool. How'd it go Allan?
You do you.
A big warm hug as someone just said is exactly how viewing this blog felt.
Thanks.
Best videos ever to drift off to sleep to. Now I can nap soundly again.
I miss continuous cruising as well. I’ve never done it, but I feel like I have by watching your videos. Thank you!
Cheers Kev!! Glad all is well... Be good and see you and Aslan soon!
I work a very stressful job and when I need to destress, I just watch an episode. 😁👍🏼
Fabulous to hear that. The perfect therapy. 🙂
The beautiful tranquility of solitude. This is your art Kevin. Thank you.
Your cruising sure does brings lots of folks peace. It has really blessed me Kevin, lots of love from America! PS I love England.
Oh so good to hear Aslan's engine and your comments as "we" cruise the canal once more. Cheers to you both!
Regards
Simon
We miss the continuous cruising too, but "Mama always said you’ve got to put the past behind you before you can move on and you have to do the best with what God gave you.”
Glad to see some honesty once an a while. The so called news media needs to be stoped.
I’ve watched some of the others narrow boaters but none bring to the experience your flavor. Good to have you back.
Awesome Brad, many thanks. 🙂
Glad to see your ok enjoy what ever down the road
The problem is I'd run out of new things to film amd do on the Lancaster Canal with it being so short and relatively devoid of towns and features.
@@CountryHouseGent - Well, we love your cooking videos, so there’s that?❤️
Not sure you'd need to worry too much about finding new things to film -- it's the sound of Aslan, your chats, and the countryside I think we all love the most. Not trying to sway you either way, and you should follow your heart, but wanted to throw my 2 cents in...
I love your continuous cruising content. I'm not sure if I would be interested in motorcycle touring as it's not relaxing like the cruising for the viewer.
Yes not enthused by motor bike rides, I keep waiting for the crash.
That chug-chug-chug… audio soul food. Absolutely love everything you do Kevin, thanks for all the wonderful videos.
Great to see you back CHG!
Many thanks Michael. 🤭

You’re most welcome Kevin 👍🏻
Thanks for the update. Love too hear Aslan plugging away. Enjoy the box of chocolates!
Glad to see you back on your boat yes you hit the nail on the head about lies media and more lies causing chaos
So goood to see you both again!
100 percent agree with you on all points . Fellow boaters , staying away from the BS . Great vlogs sir . (Love the sound of your engine )
Loved your Continuous cruising videos they helped me through Lockdowns and the general madness of the world.
Come out in the middle of the night to have a smoke, travels by narrowboat was playing when I woke up, and here is a new video to watch. Yeah!
Never give up anything you love, I like all directions you go, do a little of each, No need to rush into any direction, The eclectic nature of your Chanel’s is my voyeur trip. Be as happy as you need to be. And stop caring what the trolls spew. They have as much of my respect as the “news” does.
Good to see you back Kevin, I love to hear Aslan chugging along and seeing the beautiful fields along the canal. Thanks for sharing!
Nice to see you back. Best of luck on what ever you decide on what to do next.
