One of the reasons I like your videos is not having to listen to inane, irritating music. The bird song and the rhythmic chugging of Aslan's engine are just perfect. Glad to see you're free again.
allow me to add mine to the chorus of voices expressing the joy of reunion, at again hearing the long-absent pulse of Aslan's diesel cycling...what a pleasant and calming sound!!! here's hoping for many more days of you and your sturdy vessel exploring the canal system without interruption...
I grew up in Lancaster, and still visit family there when I can. Really appreciate your affection for the area - your vlogs have made me quite homesick! Spent a lot of my youth walking and cycling along the length of canal between Glasson Dock and Hest Bank and sunk many a pint at the Water Witch. I equally appreciate your understandably hushed views on the 'Rona' and 'totalitarian tip-toe' we are experiencing with which I fully concur. Keep up the fine work Good Sir!
Hi John. Yes I've always had an affinity for the area, having lived in Cumbria for many years. Look out for a future video travelling along the Glasson Branch and fingers crossed for the 'other' stuff. Cheers ☺
Can you believe this eighty-year-old soon-to-be 81 lady happened to catch one of your videos. I was so intrigued that I went back to the beginning to see how you got started doing this and have slowly been trying to catch up. I'm not very interested in the mechanics but the scenery is amazing. I especially remember seeing the swan in the little babies with her. I find this so interesting thank you for doing this
So glad to be back to Lancaster canal with you and Aslan! The views of the see and Lake District are priceless, especially knowing what a long waiting it has been for you. Happy for you and grateful you let me join you! PS The filming of Lune Aqueduct is brilliant! Outstanding place indeed.
They should give you the Keys to the City you've been on that canal so long :) Lovely to hear Aslan and see all the lovely views mixed in with the modern day bustle :)
The best part of this channel is the quality of the video and not too much talking --just enough so we can tag along for the ride. I have looked at other Narrowboat youtubers and they frankly talk too much. CHG: keeps calm so we can all enjoy.. Well done as always..
Thank you Michael. Agreed, I've never been a huge fan of music in any travel films or documentaries - I think there's enough natural 'music' going on already in the areas being explored.
Found your show on Prime video, started watching and absolutely love it! I never knew about the canals in Great Britain until watching. It looks so relaxing and fun. Such beautiful scenery! Cheers from Missouri! Keep doing what you are doing, I’m sure many of us wish we were there doing the same.
Thanks for such a relaxing beautiful ride with my coffee. I love seeing how the homeowners decorate their garden behind the homes, some are really funny
Since discovering your videos several weeks ago I have done nothing but watch them every day. Talk about escapism at its best!!! From the gentle chug-chug of Aslan to your wonderful cooking segments (and yes I've tried a couple of them), I just can't get enough. Thank you for sharing your wonderful canal world all the way to Indiana, US.
Kevin, bring at the top end of the Lankie, I’ve found you being in Garstang so reassuring close during lock down . Almost a friend … don’t underestimate what your Vlogs mean to us all in your community. Lock on!
Great filming Mr Green Man 🐲 your glee shows! Thoroughly enjoyed the Lancaster scenes, and the quiet, steady tick of Aslan thru the countryside. The travelling map was v. useful ~ Hey, great Shoes 👞👞!!
Aslan is back on the move, Kevin is in his happy place and (almost) all's well with the world. It was a lovely day cruising along with you, I appreciate seeing the landscape, urban and rural, through your photographer's eye for composition and interesting elements. Thank you 🙏
Hi Kevin nice to see you out and about Doing what you love and the weather WoW! Ain't we lucky But still cold in the morning and the night still more to the point where are you going ah Carnfourth Nice job. Aslan engines so unique and sounds absolutely perrrfect ! And you are bang on with the Neighbours? What Neighbours. Oh what a life each day I'm getting a little nearer to my own Narrowboat 1 procedure down 2 to go so like you I'm onwards and upwards. Hopefully it won't be too long before I can join you Canal lovers Take care and stay safe. 😁
Hi Kevin great video 👍 you and Aslan are a refreshment to my eyes and ears ,nice to see all the folks out and about smiling and laughing along your journey the mood has definitely changed from lock down ,thank you for sharing with us it definitely makes me happy and many others I’m sure ,safe travels be well my friend 😊
Great video Kevin. Blossoms, bird song, wildlife, great scenery, lovely old bridges, beautiful homes and gardens, it had it all. And best of all, the chug, chug, chug of Aslan. Good to see you looking so relaxed too, and I’m pleased you found a mooring. 👍
So incredibly happy that you have sent us this lovely video. Reminiscent of the first ones which made me feel so calm and worry free. Thanks so very much. I cannot wait, as always, for the upcoming travels!
Love watching your vidoes Kevin, I have always fancied a boat and after watching you from the very begining, in the camper I finally bought one. 60ft trad buy the name of Kernow. I have only taken her a couple of times, (Due to the lockdown) but am hopeing to get some trips out this year. Cheers, Clive.
I found your videos on Amazon prime first. And now I've find my way to your channel. Thank you for doing these! Your videos are so relaxing to watch. I keep them on while I work and it's so nice to see the places you visit and the people you meet. Also, hearing Aslan's gentle chugging as an ambient background is very calming. Thanks again!
So love your videos Kevin. The sound of that engine, your narration and the English countryside slowly drifting by is soothing balm to my soul. Cheers mate🍻
At first, winter in England brought me down. I'm here in South Carolina at the end of spring and everything is plush green. But I loved your venture into the cathedral of St. Margaret, as I always enjoy your ventures. Good hope
The Bay Gateway has been a game changer got Lancaster. For years, during term time, Lancaster has been gridlocked. Now it’s bearable. Lovely vlog Kevin.
It's an impressive achievement and especially Junction 34 from the M6. The old junction was built originally for emergency vehicles only and was never intended for heavy traffic. Massive improvement.
Cheers Kevin! So good to have you back. My family and I love watching your videos. We especially enjoy your dinners. You're a hero to us and keep on keeping on! Your friends in Indiana.
I find your videos so relaxing, you are the Bob Ross of the cut!
I have to agree. His HD Quality is the best. Right down to the bird poop. Ha!
Thanks for the reminder Ben. Must get and clean that off. 😁
@@CountryHouseGent I wouldn’t change it for the world. It comes with the territory. Lol!
Yes he is! Instead of happy little trees he’s got happy little ducks and the engine sound is very meditative!🦆😃
This video's been up for about 3 hours and all ready over 3500 views. We've been missing our Aslan. Thank you for making my day!
A pleasure. Cheers,
What is that beautiful chugging sound? Oh wait! It’s Aslan and Kevin back on the tour! Great to see the smiles!
Great drone footage pf the aquaduct!!! Crystal clear!
Thanks Wesley
Ahhhhhh! Regular service has been restored. Happy cruisin'!
Glad you're back at it. Greetings from Lancaster County Pennsylvania.
Ha yes Kathy, greetings from Lancaster, to Lancaster. ☺
Your narrowboat videos are the best of the bunch. Great observational humor, relaxed, and visually appealing. Thank you
One of the reasons I like your videos is not having to listen to inane, irritating music. The bird song and the rhythmic chugging of Aslan's engine are just perfect. Glad to see you're free again.
Thank you Connie. Yes I feel the same about background music.
I very much like your adding drone shots to your videos...specifically at the aqueduct. It adds a nice texture to the story.
allow me to add mine to the chorus of voices expressing the joy of reunion, at again hearing the long-absent pulse of Aslan's diesel cycling...what a pleasant and calming sound!!! here's hoping for many more days of you and your sturdy vessel exploring the canal system without interruption...
Thank you Larry
Loved to hear Aslan chugging along again.
Love the opening song that goes with Her too.
@@Yorkshiremadmick Yes! Boom Boom Boom could be a hit. That little intro sounds a bit like 'If I Needed Someone.'
@Rocket Rose Yes it does but actually the intro part of the tune is a thinly veiled homage to She Sells Sanctuary by The Cult. ☺
@@CountryHouseGent Keeps me alive
Love the sound of the engine chugging
My boats go boom boom too, love what your doing.
Keep moving on!
Cheers for that. Keep chugging. ☺
Thank you Kevin for taking us along on your travels! So relaxing and beautiful country side!
I think living along a canal would be great. Sit in your back yard and watch narrow boats go by. What a life.
Yes I would love to live next to a canal with a garden leading to it (if I didn't already live on the canal that is).
OH SWEET! loving hearing Aslan once again..welcome back to the cut..and us of course! 😊
Glad to see you moving again. Fair winds and following seas to you.
Ah... Thank you for bringing a little bit of normal back into our lives
Beautiful, nice to see our wonderful England waterway:‐) Xx
