YES! I really truly and honestly and utterly appreciate Kevin's determination to bring us new episodes every week. I look forward to Fridays like never before. Thanks, Kevin!
That was so enjoyable, thanks Kevin. You had a lovely day for it, and the tunnels were a breeze. Some lovely scenery too, and I love seeing the ducks. 💕 I’m doing catch-up on your videos as I have been preoccupied with painting my outdoor chair, trying out my new Rollator and knitting a jumper for my own Kevin, who turned 62 recently. Being 87, one has to pace oneself! 😂 Oh yes, and editing my poetry book, ready for the printers - well, nearly! 📖 See you again soon.
Kevin, my wife and I enjoy your videos. It is obvious that you take pride in your work product. Thank you for taking the time and care to ensure we are able to share your exploits as though we were there on Aslan with you. We are looking forward to being whisked away on this new journey. Fred and Sandy in Ohio.
Yay CHG! I loved the bit where you wrote, "Scrub that" when you found that mooring. I couldn't agree more. When you find that mooring, it's 50/50, stay or go, and then that shot with those beautiful taut mooring ropes. Lovely. Perfect cup of tea time. I think you're gonna have a bumper 2022. Good. Why not. I think you have a lot of people who are thinking of you and care about you. That's a treasure. Big love.
Indeed Peter, he who hesitates and all that and rarely is there something better around the corner. Very true, feels different this time round and a definite buzz in the air on TH-cam.

Pure existentialism at its finest, Kevin. There’s something extremely satisfying watching you enjoying the simple things in life, aboard the time machine that is Aslan As you travel along at “walk-speed”, life reverts from a blur to a tranquil water colour of nature and history, with a good dash of humour. Just perfect 👍🏻
Love house cleaning day…when it’s done! We got into our car and drove a mile to the sports complex to do our 30 min power walk around the soccer fields. You get to get your exercise shopping, topping off water, empting trash and toilet. Ihope after that kind of day you treat yourself to a good meal, cup of tea, and put your feet up and recall thel lovely sights of cruising down a beautiful canal.
Thank you for sharing your adventures, and for teaching me something new (wich meaning salt). It sent me down a fascinating rabbit hole regarding the history of salt production in that area. The different methods for extracting the salt that were used throughout history etcetera. I’ve learnt about Lumpmen and Wallers and Lofters. This canal is one of the most perfect places for yourself and Aslan to be - near the Lion Salt Works 🙂 The Lion the Wich & the Waller - a very salty tale. Ok..... i’m going to shut up now. 🤣 Thanks again and all the best. 🙂🐿🌈❤️
Omg I love your klaxon, it has to be the best horn on the whole canal network I want a C.H.G style klaxon for every day working life when I'm being pestered 😂 😂 😂
I really appreciate Kevin's ability to capture these kinds of details in his videos, it makes me take the time to reflect on life, including the kitties I have known.
What a differance 14 days made 336 hours little hours and now it's ruddy (no pun, rudder!) cold !!! Having a pasty (homemade/baked) have switched to shortcrust pastry as my dear Dad used to make them along with the apple pie, but that's a different story. Oh the memories of a latter time (not the apple pie nor the pasties) but the memories of your trip so far. Preston Brook tunnel many memories and visiting the pub at Preston Brook which is now a spar shop and walking the length of the tunnel albeit on the top of to the next pub. I Recall your first tunnel experience and I was very anxious even though I was watching it and not actually physically being there but the claustrophobia of it did have a nervous effect on me, so well done with the tunnels Kevin.
Like everwhere else, some places on the canal are lovely and others not so much. The little RIP painting of their cat was so sweet. Thanks for showing it.
It’s always FriYAYyy when Kev posts another video! Great job as usual! It’s about Time for another cooking segment “Cooking with Kev” don’t ya think?!!!
Good morning from Florida Glad to see you again. Gals you learned from last tunnel to be more prepared so you can have a great experience. Half you didn’t hang around the Marina for 3 more months. Really enjoy the scenery in your videos, they show so much history. Keep up the life. I look forward to the next one 👍
I think I would get nowhere quickly on a narrowboat...every time you chug past the odd branch in water, I want to 'pull to the side, get out and lug it out of the way for someone else!" That dog made me think of a sports practice where you tap a spot and then run, tap and then return...except no idea what the dog was chasing after!
Good to see your vlog again Kevin. Good camera shots and the chug chug of Aslan is great. Hope your keeping well. Take great care. Keep safe warm dry and virus free.
Hi Kevin. Great to see that you’re up in the Northwich area. It’s amazing that some of those salt mines are so big that they use them as underground storage of documents and even as Gas storage. Take care. Nick
Just great to see you back travelling again Kevin. You met a mate of mine Lee who insisted on a selfie with you, thanks for being patient with him! Good luck and safe journeys matey.
I love your sense of humor - especially that you can laugh at yourself. Thanks for making me LOL at work - I'm sure my team thinks I'm crazy. If they ask - I'm blaming you! :D
Hi Kevin 👋 just us 2saying hi and thanks again. Enjoy this video so peaceful 👍 den and sue keep safe say well and safe travels den and sue 👍👍👍🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🚌🚌🚌
You are getting close to my neck off the woods Kevin , on the Trent and Mersey spent my childhood playing around the Trent and Mersey and the Macclesfield canal where they meet up at kidsgrove , we used to call the Trent and Mersey the orange canal as kids owing to the iron oxide that leached into it mostly from the original Harcastle tunnel . I will keep my eye out , it would be so funny seeing you . Anyway if you need anything when passing through Let me know Staffordshire oatcakes are always a winner . Glad you are back on the move mate . Ps there is now a very handy Lidl shop at the intersection of Liverpool road and second avenue , if you tie up just before the lock that is between the canal tavern and the bluebell public house , that’s the last lock before the harecastle tunnel , it’s just a 30 second walk from the bridge if you look left with the tavern in front of you .
Wow-Kevin-just really enjoying your travels again, your weekly new vlogs are such a source of complete relaxation. Thanks for sharing-you’re a treasure on TH-cam!
Another super vid Kevin, and great weather for traveling and filming , as always superb quality, nice to see you on the T& M, thank you once again and keep safe.....mike
Me thinks that Moorhen was actually a Coot. Moorhen has an orange beak with yellow tip whilst the Coot's beak is white. Here in Suffolk they tend to get called Water Hens 🤔
Back out again. I love it, and I would move aboard a narrowboat just to hear the sound of that engine. I don’t think there are many boats like Aslan out there. Until I find one like him that comes with a reasonably content roommate that knows how to work on an engine and the boat like you do, I will continue to live vicariously through you.

Great vid Kev, love the effort you put in to show all the practical stuff that needs to be done i.e. elsan, water etc. FYI that water bird was a coot that you called a moorhen. Remember that if it has a red nose it's a moorhen, and a white nose it's a coot. I used to make the same mistake, just saying :)
Thoroughly enjoyed riding long the K&A, seeing the sights, listening to Aslan and your commentary, plus bits of wry humor, going through the tunnels with the light on, and thinking about your cup of tea as I ready my next one. It is fantastic how good you feel about cruising again and that you’re sharing it with us! Thank you so much!
😃 great vlog just cuz you and Aslan are under way again. Life is just a little bit better. I enjoy your humor and can't wait till you cook again. Safe travels and Godspeed. Tx 🇺🇲
Fantastic Vlog ! You are the only one that I watch who actually slows down to tick over when passing moored or other boats . I commend you on being a real boater . STAY SAFE
Thank you for that Michael. I do it cos I know what it's like having someone tearing by - and I kinda hope the courtesy will be reciprocated. Still waiting. :D
Yea! I remember you had to go through a tunnel and a lock for the first time back to back. You said it was nerve racking, but not in those words. Ha! My wife and I still love watch you go though the English Canals just as much as the first we watched you. We are big fans. ♥️
Very nice seeing all the scenery and the interesting architecture along the way. I'm sorry some people haven't picked up on why you did what you did. It seemed perfectly clear and reasonable to me the first time you explained it. 🙂
You were pretty nervous in your first tunnel, the Husbands Bosworth Tunnel. When you exited I believe your words were " I didn't enjoy that one bit, but I've done it. What the hell, did I just run over someone" Classic CHG.
So glad that you are back to cruising! I discovered the various narrowboating channels here in early 2020...decided there were 3 vloggers that I wanted to follow. These videos were my zen moments throughout lockdown and the year and a half of working from home. Imagine my surprise to learn in this past month that you are the only one of the three who will still be cruising...the others are both selling their boats! Thank you for having the grit and fortitude to make it through the past two years and get back to cruising! Happy trails!!!!
Kevin, it was so nice to be cruising, again! I love the pace and the diversity you capture in your videos. Especially the pace!!! At my age I'm no hurry to move on.
YAY another video from Kevin and Aslan!!!!! My soul is once again at peace. I get to listen to that beautiful chug.
It is very calming!

You were born to do this. You have found your calling and (once again) found yourself. Very fortunate to watch from my chair in Michigan. Ta.
Spent the last 3 days in bed moaning with the man flu lol. Today I feel much better, and there is a new episode to watch with my coffee. Happy days!
Oh I can sympathise Bryan. I don't care what the opposite sex says, Man Flu is a menace. Great to hear you're on the mend.
Thank you for cruising without musical accompaniment....love the sounds of the boat and what's going on around you. Your opening song is just fine👍👍👍👍
Cheers Diana. Yes, I never put music with the travel videos, with one or two exceptions and of course, the theme tune.
Why is it that the chugg, chugg, chugg, of the motor just makes me relax ?
Zzzzzzzzzzz !
Er, Wot ? Nearly dozed off there and missed a bit !
Casual Happy Grafting, down the cut, to a ..... Whoops, nearly missed it, mooring point.
Loved every minute of it !
See you next time !

That one dog looked like he was herding Aslan along the canal!
Aslan’s song is beautiful, what an engine basically, great tune.

A person who travels solo on a narrowboat must be reasonably fit and healthy. You do a lot of physical work!

Ah too kind Tony, but I shall accept the honor nonetheless. 👑😁
I got to hear your ooga horn several times in this vlog. Just can't get enough of it.
16:14 wow that kitty had a long life. Quite the array of boats in this vlog! As always thank you so much for sharing with us.
Yes he/she surely did. Made me think at the time of my old furry friend, god rest his soul. 🙂
I really appreciate Kevin's ability to capture these kinds of details in his videos, it makes me take the time to reflect on life, including the kitties I have known.
Noticed that as well !
Love it, totally addictive viewing. Nice one Kev. Keep 'em coming mate.
A pleasure, TC. Cheers,
YAHOO YOUR BACK IN THE CANAL
Chug chug chug. Ahhh... If you fancy a river, you might like the Nene - it's sedate pace would suit Aslan I reckon 👍
