Summary (tips) 1. Meal eating order: first non starchy vegetables, then protein and fat, last carbs, starchy vegetables and sugars (desert) 2. One tablespoon of vinager (apple cider, white wine, rice...) diluted in a tall glass of water, up to 30min before a meal 3. Have a savory breakfast (best mix of protein, healthy fat, fibre) 4. Use your muscles for at least 10min after a meal (a walk, cleaning the house, walking up the stairs, dancing, squats...) 5. Never eat a carb or desert on an empty stomach, leave it for the end of a well balanced meal and/or drink 1 tablespoon of diluted vinager in water before eating it and/or use your muscles for at least 10min after you've ate it. 6. No naked carbs/sugars, put some clothes on them - pair it with some protein, healthy fat and/or fibre ( e.g. chocolate cake with some greek yogurt, piece of sourdough with some avocado or butter, rice with some eggs or salmon or greens, cookie with 10 raw almonds...) 7. Eat whole fruits, no juices (even if it's mixeds with some vegetables) 8. Avoid dried fruits, oat milk, coconut water, rice cakes (treat them all as a dessert) 9. Well balanced smoothies (PHFF) with no fruits or very little fruit (best berries) 10. Better choices: Sourdough over white bread, steel cut oats over oatmeal, starchy vegetables over white bread/pasta... 11. Grapes, pinapple, banana - higher fructose levels, always put clothes on them or eat as dessert 12. Eat more healthy fats - avocados, avocado oil, olive oil, fish... 13. Stress and poor/lack of sleep spikes glucose levels and the body's ability to properly function 14. If you wake up tired, eat savory breakfast, 10min high intensity workout shortly after you wake up, then coffee or just skip coffee, to feel better and reset your body *PHFF - protein, healthy fat, fibre
I’m type2 diabetic. Last night I eat veg+salad first ( dressed the Italian way, olive oil balsamic salt pepper), then small portion of red bean soup with beef ( organic) pieces, 1 small glass of red, to finish home made ball of sweet potato coated in grated coconut. I mesured my blood sugar level. Hugely surprised to see no glucose spike. It’s a first. Haven’t sorted the breakfast yet as it spiked yesterday and this morning. I will avoid certain foods to see what triggers the spike. Thanks very much, this is life saving advice
I have to say that I am amazed how much better I feel by eating my food in a particular order. I feel more satiated and calm. It is remarkable. Thank you 😊
I love these suggestions & was familiar with some of them. The one thing I always object to is the notion that we can stop aging. We age. We are nature. There’s no way for the leaves to stay on the trees, avoid autumn & not die. Aging & death are part of life. I am 61. I smoked for a score. I lived in a sunshine climate for 22 years. I take no pharmaceuticals. I have been learning these hacks over my lifetime as a yogi & a wellness coach. I had a relatively easy menopause journey. I’m not overweight. I walk 3-5 km/day, practice yoga every day, have 1 drink almost every night. Look after yourself & enjoy your life. Learn to pay attention to your practices mindfully so you can stay in charge. You are worth it. 🙏🏻💕💃🥂
Hi thank you for your video I'm archie from the uk I'm a type 2 diabetic I've had it 16 years not one doctor has ever told me about sugar I'm so proud that you have helped me I've only been on the life changing way for 11 days not long but I feel better and thank you from all my friends with diabetic take care all archie
I have pcos and suffered for over 20 years. No help from doctors at all. Gaining weight even though i wasnt eating much...I thought i was going mad. Starches and sugar literally have me sedated. I feel so much more in control now. This is so empowering. Ive been doing this a while before even hearing about Jesse. Hearing the science behind it from Jesse, i have decided ro continue this forever. Thank you so much Jesse. The way you explain it is so easy to understand. Love you.
Spoiler alert : Science is shit and the microbiome already tell you what's food and not, you just decide to not care about their signals. Can you tell me how to make paper wall glue ? Also stop dairy.
My advice . . . stop eating processed foods (flour, sugar, seed oil, etc.) One ingredient fresh whole foods (including lots of meat) is the key to keyto vore! I switch to Ketovore lyfestile over a year ago but wish I had done it decades ago. Lost 40+ and long time high blood pressure now normal, gout gone too.
I have cardiac sarcoidosis, inflammation in my heart. It has improved significantly since I've been on this diet, now for about 2 years. I followed this to the T. Did exactly what she says. I also just about eliminated alcohol. Never eat carbs as a snack, only at the end of a meal. Snacks are mainly nuts, cheese. You have to be very disciplined . Listen to what she says.
Thank you for doing this video. Wish all doctors would know more about how what we eat affects our health. My dr. told me at my last visit to eat oatmeal every day and it will bring down my cholesterol level when it is doing the exact opposite and causing me fatigue on top of it. How wonderful it is that you also explain so those of us without medical degrees can understand it. Keep those videos coming for us.
This is one reason why I no longer put faith in 99% of Doctors - they have NO training in nutrition - yet, want to tell us how to eat. Listen to Dr. Ken Berry on youtube and other social media - he gives sound advice.
I was eating oatmeal, even tho I don't like it very much. I gained 10 lbs from it. I had cut the recommended serving size half, because I can't eat a lot of it.😢
I actually enjoy the CONVERSATION between Dr Hyman and Jessie. He is a practicing doctor with years of experience, while she is a researcher, a young one at that! I think they complement each other well!
@@josephpchajek2685 She holds a BSc in mathematics from King's College, London, and an MSc in biochemistry from Georgetown University. Lol, she hasn't performed more researches than I had, I did 0, trying to be humble.
I went to an avocado and coffee for breakfast, some days an egg too. Has changed my whole day. Sardines for lunch, greens. For a chocolate craving use 85% cacoa pieces.
Hi, just a fair warning....dark chocolate is proven to have LEAD in it! I got a heavy metals test, and found out I had high lead and cadmium in my blood! :0( Narrowed it down to chocolate after a friend told me they saw on the news about lead in chocolate. Now there is all kinds of info about it on-line and consumer reports. I never thought I'd EVER stop chocolate, but there's like 217% in one chocolate bar and I was only eating .5 oz. each night... I ate fair trade, organic and all that stuff and those are some of the highest lead counts!
This young Dr. Is so realistic for many of us who can’t cut off carbs and sugars, so refreshing to hear these hacks making it easy for us to still enjoy some treats from time to time, Dr Hayman, I appreciate your knowledge but sometimes because of where we live and what we can afford it’s difficult to attain all these organic and grass fed foods, it’s quite expensive on our side of the world so it’s great to hear that someone of us still have some hope in keeping our bodies healthy by doing these inexpensive tricks
In one of her talks, she said that her target is really the people who can't cut carbs because of budget and good availability. As a Filipina, this is soooo helpful. Our diet is not as healthy as I'd like and I live in an island where it's not easy to grow vegetables so it can get really expensive.
Totally agree. We are sharing the place where I cook for our housemate. Since he takes reasonable rent i buy all the groceries and cook for him without sharing the cost. So, in that case not easy to get everything organic, I do get it when it is in sale broccoli and other veggies but mostly it's so expensive and the housemate eats alot 😂😂🤣... I cook for four to 5 PPL portion in place of 3 person... Your point is great.. wish biodynamic grown veggies are more affordable....
‼️🎴 1. Vegetables ( Arugula, broccoli, Swiss Chard , kale, Cabbage, parsley, Carrots, Beets, Okra, alot, a big bowl ) 2. Protein ( eggs , beef, poultry, fish ) 3. Sugary stuff last ( Pizza pasta , breads , potato, chocolate , candy, donut, ) so actual maybe , to really keep the last one to a bare minimum, if your young. older people do have some issues so stuff like the last one is not recommended for older people , and based on health conditions.. i Sounds fantastic‼️ can't wait to put it in this order ‼️ However I may not able to eat anything on 3. Did I get this correct ? 🙆🏾 🌄🌄🌄🌄🌄🌄🌄🌄🌄🌄🌄🌄🌄🌄
YES!!! Dinner for breakfast, I started doing this last month and following this regimen that Jessie outlines - I am sleeping better for the first time in 25 years! Not hangry so much anymore....
Fascinating conversation. I would like to get the book “Glucose Revolution” and understand more about the Insulin spikes and how I can prevent this. I am 66 years and doing everyday 16/18 hours intermittent fasting and twice in a month 34-35 hours dry fasting. My HbA1C 5.6 %. I have reversed my diabetics and now no medication at all.
I read her book and it makes a very convincing case. Much of what she says is well covered there and I recommend reading it. I have besides her advise practiced intermittent fasting with regular workouts and started losing visceral fat which had been stubbornly clinging on to me no matter how hard I put in the cardio hours. It has solved a vexatious issue with many benefits. I have in comparison to my earlier active lifestyle even more stamina and I run faster without getting tired. Feels great.
I agree with the order of eating if you’re concern of the glucose absorption plus the taking of acetic acid (best vinegar to take - apple cider vinegar). I will add also if you want to lower your cholesterol take lemon water (with lukewarm water) every morning. I learned this in my Public Health Nutrition and Food Molecular science course during my MPH degree. Absolutely right, sugar is the culprit of metabolic diseases.
Finally, someone that gets it. You don't hear this message very often. People just endlessly blabbering about keto, eat this and don't eat that. Food ordering is actually more important. Indian ayurveda already talked about this for centuries. Certain food combination should also not be eaten at the same time. Like fruits and meat. Because stomach acids get messed up which increases bloating and irritation, leading to all kinds of problems. Anyone interested in health and longevity should research about "Advanced glycation end product".
I’m a Type2 diabetic and eating a salad before a meal makes a huge difference to my BS levels. My diabetes doesn’t allow me to indulge a dessert afterwards. Her hacks are not for ppl like me who have hyperinsulemia & diabetes. Fruit or any sweets will increase my BS regardless if I “dress” a carb. Her counsel is mostly for those that absolutely cannot be without carbs & starches, so it’s just a work-around. Not recommended for ppl like me. The continuous glucose monitor is essential to know how foods affect ppl. In my case, zero starches & super low carbs is necessary. This is great counsel for my adult kids.
I’ve watched several videos with Jessie, and I think she is fabulous! However, I was glad to hear Dr Hyman say that those of us with metabolic issues shouldn’t jump into her ideas fully! We need to heal our underlying issues before we can enjoy what she recommends! I look at it as something to look forward to after I heal my insulin resistance! Thank you both, very encouraging video!
Eating protein and veggies first won't hurt anything..it'll just help. Same thing with the ACV before meals...that will actually help in increasing insulin sensitivity by opening up the absorption of the glucose by the muscles.
@@betsyfortenberry8964 understood…. I was referring to eating sugary foods, deserts, and sweets. Those will never be great for those of us with IR or predisposition to diabetes.
‘A message of Hope’. Thank you both for a wonderful message to help all of us with our health. Without this info we will surely not have the tools to handle these problems, because the medical doctors don’t know or have the time to help us. ❤
I like her approach. It is much more doable for people who cannot do Mark's restrictive perfectionistic food advice for whatever reason. I can feel him cringe when she says she eats cake. Ha! There is his food police right there! Most people cannot do what he suggests for long usually for time constraints, financial limits, psychological, emotional, or trauma reasons, which takes more money to get the support to heal. If you can do it, don't think that everyone else should be able to as well and be so judgemental, you have no idea what people have learned to do to survive. Most cannot be so restrictive with their food as the wellness gurus suggest. Although most people are concerned with weight gain or weight loss, many have realized how that is not a wise focus. They realized they are suffering from disordered eating and poor body image fueled by media and industry, which in itself is traumatic to our natural selves. We are not machines and industry treats us as such and expects us to perform like them. So if you are tired of trying to eat like Mark and other health through diets coaches suggest, it seems much more doable to do what this woman is proposing. Plus, this whole health issue has gotten so myopic for us. It is concerning these people who don't seem to take into consideration how expensive it is to try to eat healthy all the time, all the meat and veggies can be very cost prohibitive. They also seem to suggest we should be eating a mainly meat and veggie diet which is not right for everyone. Plus all the time it takes to cook all this stuff when you are just trying to get by with a few jobs. I am wondering who actually succeeds with this advice and what their income level and time availability are to do this stuff. Not saying it is impossible to improve but I am speaking for those of us with lower incomes, less time and trauma who have a pattern of disordered eating and poor body image, no thanks to commercializing our bodies and lives by modern industry. Again, what she is proposing seems a little more doable for many people and I applaud her efforts.
None of what you said here, in your lengthy diatribe, is Dr. Hyman’s fault. He is merely the messenger of what is the BEST way to eat. Do what you can do, but don’t blame him if you can’t! I live on low SSI and live in my car….but I follow his advice. I make it work.
Ninety percent of the issue is changing one’s attitude. We hate giving up our addictions. No one has to buy expensive items from a health food store -there are many options at the market. Simplicity is key. A few changes to start, like buying more vegetables to mix with whatever protein (that’s why our ancestors invented stew😋), and -most importantly- stop wasting money on processed junk loaded with sugar/inflammatory oils/refined starches. It’s not food. Also, anyone can incorporate time/restricted eating into their current diets. (Give the body a rest from flooding it with glucose all day long.) And it’s free. Btw, eggs are an excellent source of protein and fats, and more economical than most meat.
I loved this. Not DNA - it's your Dinner; and being inquisitive of my own body and what is going on with glucose spikes and how I manage stress, eating in patterns, etc. Definitely going to buy the book! Thank you.
I went to the ER with my first ever panic attack on a sunny, happy morning with my friends. I woke up with panic attacks in the middle of the night for a week, had tachycardia and palpitations. It took two months, 7 doctors, and a last ditch effort to find a source to realize it was related to my blood sugar and cortisol. I'm disciplined about detoxing, eating "super" foods, and avoiding toxins, so it was a shock to myself and my family that I had blood sugar issues. I've worked with a naturopathic doctor since then and am getting to the root cause, and fixing my gut health, but this video was so insightful beginning to end and encouraging. I was so nervous I could never even have honey again, and this has helped me feel like it's just a now problem that has a clear route to healing. Thanks for sharing!
This is so helpful. I have eaten paleo diet/ keto for years. Worked great for a long time. But at 49 with high levels of stress add in I have high cholesterol-don’t feel well at this point. I need to change things up a little. I am going to try this.
I think I love you! Both of you have reminded me of how I kept my A1c low 3 years without medication. I stopped doing some of the things you mentioned here. Thank you both!!!!! ❤❤❤❤
What a great talk! I’m definitely going to start doing some of the things Jessie spoke about. I love the idea of dressing carbs! I eat way less bad stuff than I used to but still have a way to go. Thanks guys for such useful information 💕
I find Jessie fascinating and I've recently bought and read her book. Much of it makes sense, and plan to try some of the hacks. The exercise, in particular. Bu, I am in confusion over the "stacking." I totally understand the principle, but I very rarely eat a meal that consists simply of veg-protein-fat-starches-sugars that I can "stack," easily. Most of what I eat is "mixed" and can't be "stacked." For example, dinner might consist of a "Kiev," chicken coated with breadcrumbs, veg and potatoes, followed by dessert/fruit. Or, more likely, a casserole/stew/one pot dish, consisting of meat/chicken/sausage with plenty of veg and pulses in a sauce, or a chickpea/veg curry with Nan bread/rice and yoghurt on the side, followed by fruit/dessert. Does this count, if I eat it altogether as "putting clothes" on the carbs. Also, much talk of "Greek Yoghurt," the full fat version, is not readily available, but I've been making my own with full fat milk for years, so I assume that's fine? I also assume that eating a dessert with double/heavy cream counts as "putting clothes" on the carbs? Any advice, gratefully received. Cheers 😉😉
38:25 Being overweight, I switched to a plant-based diet more than five years ago, I can prove you wrong about gaining muscle mass. In the first year, I lost more than 8 kg just switching to plant-based, with absolutely no physical effort. And I kept the same weight until last autumn when I started to put some effort into the gym, and surprisingly, for the last 5 months I gained 4kg of mass. No protein shakes, no supplements, no crap, just the same Whole Foods every day.
I just had for breakfast coliflowers carrots spinach and added 1 egg I AM 85 fascinated of your research. I will continue to learn from you guys. I know both of you thank you very much for sharing. I swim almost everyday but less than previous length of the 25meter of the pool. Today I'm going for a walk at the beache. Lake Ontario. Six month ago I weight 140poind at present time I weight 117.more or less it fluctuate I'm 4'5 should I worry.👍✌💜👍🇨🇦
Dear Mark, i love your work literally, i mean the way you own the subjectyou talk to and how you get all those supposedlly hard info about science and human healt. across i just wanted to clarify one thing about that Jessie said. she said that she had dinner for breakfast with leftover foods from dinner the night before. Now Mark, as you probablly know too, every single item food or object as humans and animals have a significant and unique bio energy which they contain. for example, apple can stay fresh and vibrant as long as it stays on its pit on the tree but once you take that apple off, it starts to degenerate or pale. same thing is valid for cooked food... food must be consumed within 2 hours after it was cooked to get the benefits. after a long time of not consuming that food and reheating it will eventually and gradually hurt all systems inside you.. thats why, you shouldnt crack the nut of a walnut if you wont eat it soon, for example
Drinking apple cider before a feast, really helps digestion. Thank you for all your suggestions, changing the order of foods makes so much sense. Blessings to your channel and all your faithful TH-camrs.
When I was growing up I remember a doctor telling me that what I ate had no impact on my skin. I knew from first hand experience that this was wrong. Whenever I ate candy my skin got worse...Good to hear an acknowledgement that foods have a much greater impact on not only skin but other areas of health as welll.
Great video and shared with others. Jessie, looks so young it’s amazing and this speaks volumes that she practices what she preaches 😊 In the UK oat milk is the most popular thing to drink with coffee , hot chocolate etc. it’s amazing just how many people don’t realise how bad it is. They think it’s the best thing. It’s like drinking fruit juices and smoothies with fruit in the morning. There’s this false assumption that it’s healthy because of the way in which it is marketed. Even simple things like protein shakes is so common because a lot of people, particularly men, want o bulk up so drink it multiple times a day thinking they’re getting a lot of health benefits. It’s actually the, opposite. Most have a load of sugar, even artificial sugars which spikes insulin although less than sugar and I know Jessie confirmed this but both things we need to avoid regardless. Some guys I know live off protein shakes and they don’t even read what’s in it. Check the ingredients as a lot of supposed healthy items, like protein shakes, also contain maltodextrin which is literally rated the worse carb you can put in your body. One thing I learned as well is that eating in general causes inflammation so I do intermittent fasting. By body is so use to using ketones, I can literally work an entire day with out eating but I might occasional have some nuts during the day. The good ones like roasted almonds, pecan nuts and macadamia nuts and occasionally walnuts. Roasted almonds because they have less oxalates. I tend to have kidney stones otherwise. The heart association in the UK actually, for example, support cereals with wheat. In fact, the heart association claim that eating porridge or oat meal or what in cereals is very healthy and actually reduces cholesterol. I don’t support these charities because I know they are funded by massive companies to promote their brand or produce and they make millions from companies in the form of donations. This is actually a massive issue in the US as well with companies brain washing us with things that are not true because they get hand outs. Another example is drinking cows mil. This has always been promoted as being required for healthy teeth and bones. In fact cows milk is not that great. It often has chemicals in it like hormones or antibiotics. I realize we are more strict in Europe than the US regulations though. However, that calcium causes heart disease. In fact calcium supplements should be avoided at all costs because studies show the calcium gets stuck in the arteries and leads to heart disease and stroke. The solution is taking vitamin K2 and vitamin D3 combined to move the calcium from the arteries to the teeth and bones. No one teaches you this stuff and it’s down to us, the people, to stop relying on what these big companies tell us what’s good for us. GPs are also trained on drugs and support pharmaceutical companies and rarely get to the cause. There are exceptions as you find in this video as some are experts in nutrition as well but this is not common and a massive shame. Concerning the lack of protein and vegans. I believe we need a minimum of 50grams protein per day. I’m not a vegan but I’m sure we can still get this from things like soya. Tofu, lentils, etc. The is was a very informative video. I learned a lot. I had a serious heart issue in 2015 and I have been studying nutrition for years now, learning from different sources. I’ve also had a fatty liver snd the good news is you can reverse the effects of a fatty liver with the correct diet and with things like milk thistle and other:factors which I have managed to do. I would suggest you buy yourself a copy of the books suggested in this video and others. I’ve read them already when I was on holiday in Spain and actually put them in use when I had the buffet each day at the hotel. I was also walking after every meal and it really does help. We need to listen to these experts. Don’t trust the government or marketing of brands. They often tell us lies.
It is funny but in France for a proper meal for the entrée (1st plate) we always take some vegetable like a salad with a vinaigrette then we follow the main meal which his meat/ vegetable/ carbs then the cheese and dessert. There is quite a Some similarities
So funny because one of the first thing I thought when I heard of Jessie is the fact that she is French. The French are general skinnier/healthier than Americans and Brits.
Thank you Dr. Hyman. I have no glucose spikes at all - I eat no sugar(s), hardly any carbohydrates, or starches which are also carbohydrates. Also I eat only One Meal A Day. I've used the Freestyle Libre 2 and 3 Continuous Glucose Monitors to understand and verify my response to various foods. Never feel that hungry. Doing sports or going for a walk after eating seems to have no effect on my blood glucose level. I'm a 56 y/o man so I can obviously not get away with eating like the 24 y/o woman in this video. I can easily spike my blood glucose with sugar, cake, chocolate bars etc and it doesn't matter if I had vinegar before, ate fat or yoghurt or protein before during or after. My recommendation is to get a CGM and find out how your body responds.
She is amazing . There are so many health video in you tube but the way she speaks is hypnotising and logical . But she should make the video small and focused on one subject . As it’s not possible to listen to such long video all the time
I found this whole conversation interesting - with the exception of her comment about potatoes. I no longer eat sugar - grains, etc. This is because I worked hard to reverse Type 2 Diabetes and I do not want to have to fight that fight again. Not only that - but sugar/carbs cause additional cravings and hunger.
The breakfast that always keeps me full until lunch is: sprouted multi whole grain toast covered with lots natural peanut butter, chia seeds, and 1/2 banana cut into slices. Not sure what to do now, change it or keep it... Also, I also eat mostly plants and, after Dr Hyman's comment on muscle mass, I have searched for research on this and found nothing. I would like to know more.
I Love Scientist Jessie, once found her, addictive to hear podcasts. At my age, she is essential to me. So sorry for the accident she had at a young age 😔 Hard to express my feelings as a mother here. But now our metabolism will be better off & will be thanking Jessie. Love her first thought she was an artist etc. Jessie speaks about the microbiome etc. Also like to learn more about OMAD and the time of eating time for 50 plus or more people, according to our circadian system. Do we still need an early Cortisol B/ fast but "protein base only" says another chemist😅 before our main meal again Another Chemist Lady thinks lunch until 3 pm even 2 pm is best to finish the dinner? Then enjoy your tight blue jean by finishing your meal early, like 2 pm or even 1 pm 🙄 if you are trying to get in your fave dress for a party😅 Are you agree with this type of living style? Is it Ok with you? I finish eating around 3 pm or 3.30 if I'm eating a nice cake in a pretty Cafe. plant base & protein mix with some stir fry veggies &quinoa. Whereas I lived French-style meals with white sauce etc most of my life🍷 If a veggie won't go into the oven with a white sauce with plenty of cheese on it then that meal won't count for me😅 So back to OMAD, London summer nights are long, the sun sets around 10.15 pm in summer 😅😅😅 so Lots of love from London. I always follow Valuable Dr Mark Hyman a big fan of his this is how I discovered you💕💕 God Bless🙏🙏
I want to interrupt yourself because I ran into this talk show of yours as I've been following you I also picked up one of your reset whole body because I am a diabetic just been diagnosed this year in February and oh my gosh I never realized I've been doing things a little wrong I've been eating meats vegetables no sweets no sugar I exercise a half hour to an hour every day I take the apple cider vinegar in the morning with pickle juice not water I'll switch it up so I'm going to start doing the apple cider vinegar half hour before my meal and remembering to exercise after and thank you very much for explaining the way we really should be eating our meals I have been doing it totally wrong eating the vegetable last on my plate now I'm going to change that up thank you so much your knowledge is so wonderful and it is helped me with learning how to manage my body myself mind body soul I think you should make more shows so we can learn the proper way in consuming our meals not eating sugar first again I did not know there was a way now I do thank you so much again I appreciate all your information and guidance
I ate 3-4 kinds of sweet fruits for breakfast everday for 5 years and my glucose level remains normal. It made me believe that fruits are healthier than process foods. Going vegan helped me combat my clinical depression and anxiety. Fruits and vegetables are heavens made medication. It only takes discipline...
Don’t you think he probably asked her to call him that or they’re friends? I don’t address my doctor friends as “Dr.” , even those who have written many books.
I love all of the information provided by the glucose Goddess Simply appliable people are more apt to stick with small changes and see results to go deeper and feel better
For my Breakfast I eat three pieces of bacon two eggs and then a small potato with lots of veggies in it like onions bell peppers and avocado salsa stuff like that
I eat konjac noodles (or shirataki noodles); it's very different tasting from regular pasta. But if you know how to season it and add lots of veggies - it is delicious and filling!
I wonder, for those whose stomach already has issues/ulcers, would it be a bad idea to use the vinegar before meals cos wouldn't this burn the stomach surface?
Summary (tips)
1. Meal eating order: first non starchy vegetables, then protein and fat, last carbs, starchy vegetables and sugars (desert)
2. One tablespoon of vinager (apple cider, white wine, rice...) diluted in a tall glass of water, up to 30min before a meal
3. Have a savory breakfast (best mix of protein, healthy fat, fibre)
4. Use your muscles for at least 10min after a meal (a walk, cleaning the house, walking up the stairs, dancing, squats...)
5. Never eat a carb or desert on an empty stomach, leave it for the end of a well balanced meal and/or drink 1 tablespoon of diluted vinager in water before eating it and/or use your muscles for at least 10min after you've ate it.
6. No naked carbs/sugars, put some clothes on them - pair it with some protein, healthy fat and/or fibre ( e.g. chocolate cake with some greek yogurt, piece of sourdough with some avocado or butter, rice with some eggs or salmon or greens, cookie with 10 raw almonds...)
7. Eat whole fruits, no juices (even if it's mixeds with some vegetables)
8. Avoid dried fruits, oat milk, coconut water, rice cakes (treat them all as a dessert)
9. Well balanced smoothies (PHFF) with no fruits or very little fruit (best berries)
10. Better choices: Sourdough over white bread, steel cut oats over oatmeal, starchy vegetables over white bread/pasta...
11. Grapes, pinapple, banana - higher fructose levels, always put clothes on them or eat as dessert
12. Eat more healthy fats - avocados, avocado oil, olive oil, fish...
13. Stress and poor/lack of sleep spikes glucose levels and the body's ability to properly function
14. If you wake up tired, eat savory breakfast, 10min high intensity workout shortly after you wake up, then coffee or just skip coffee, to feel better and reset your body
*PHFF - protein, healthy fat, fibre
Thank you for doing this. Easier to take a screenshot. 🤗🦊
Thank you, have a great day ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
Thank you!
Thanks for the summary
Thanks a lot ❤️❤️❤️🙏🙏🙏
Balsamic vinegar has sugar in it. Be careful
She does not recommend this type of vinegar.

My sister who is type 2 eats oatmeal and a banana for breakfast. She thinks that’s good for her. 🙄🙄🙄

Jessie's Magic wand. Voila': all your troubles away..with ten easy hacks..feel good forever...lol...
She's not a doctor, but a biochemist & author.

I never knew about the meat and fruit thing! Very interesting. What can someone eat with fruit, instead of meat, to blunt to the sugar spike?

Yes, I tried the apple vinegar before food and that definitely worked, there was no subsequent flaking out.

Eating protein and veggies first won't hurt anything..it'll just help. Same thing with the ACV before meals...that will actually help in increasing insulin sensitivity by opening up the absorption of the glucose by the muscles.

This is exactly what I’ve been wanting to know for years! Gastroparesis sufferers need to know this.
Ugh. Like from Rybelsus.

(Give the body a rest from flooding it with glucose all day long.)
And it’s free.
Apple cider vinegar before a meal was such a huge game changer for me! Definitely recommend and limiting my sugar intake per day. Good luck
Keto was super stressful to my body (lots of bad side effects). I could do it for 3 months and had to quit. I think it's hard on your liver

I really enjoyed the commentary between the two of you, just delightful. And did I say informative!
I'm a fan.
Most of what I eat is "mixed" and can't be "stacked."
For example, dinner might consist of a "Kiev," chicken coated with breadcrumbs, veg and potatoes, followed by dessert/fruit.
Cheers 😉😉

First thing if you care about your health is steer clear of medical doctors
Medical doctors are not trained in nutrition. A few of them train themselves.
Great video and shared with others. Jessie, looks so young it’s amazing and this speaks volumes that she practices what she preaches 😊
In the UK oat milk is the most popular thing to drink with coffee , hot chocolate etc. it’s amazing just how many people don’t realise how bad it is.
2025 isn't here yet 😮

If a veggie won't go into the oven with a white sauce with plenty of cheese on it then that meal won't count for me😅
So back to OMAD,
London summer nights are long, the sun sets around 10.15 pm in summer 😅😅😅
so
Lots of love from London.
I always follow Valuable Dr Mark Hyman
a big fan of his this is how I discovered you💕💕
God Bless🙏🙏

Thank you for your best advice
I ate 3-4 kinds of sweet fruits for breakfast everday for 5 years and my glucose level remains normal. It made me believe that fruits are healthier than process foods. Going vegan helped me combat my clinical depression and anxiety. Fruits and vegetables are heavens made medication. It only takes discipline...
the Mastering Diabetes folks have the data on that. All good. I think it's the fiber and micronutrient package
I've done it for about a week my sleeps been much deeper fantastic thanks totally fantastic
I love, love, love this. Great conversation 👌
this is cool topic,thank you
Dr Mark is so humble she's calling him "Mark" & the number of books he has written on blood sugar yet he is asking questions & looking to learn 🤯🤯🤯🤯
Mark Hyman is a rare truly wonderful human being.
Don’t you think he probably asked her to call him that or they’re friends? I don’t address my doctor friends as “Dr.” , even those who have written many books.
Alright Joey mate
@@sarahterry2140EXACTLY!! 👏🏽 No need for us to be attached to our “titles” for validation. Oh geez! smh lol
Listen to the subject. Not the clothes, Dr etc. Cheese and ages get with the topic
I love all of the information provided by the glucose Goddess Simply appliable people are more apt to stick with small changes and see results to go deeper and feel better
Stop she's adorable!! And of course smart !
This was very informative, thank you so much! ❤
I love this tutorial. I try it now.
Great- thank you very much for these informations. So good to hear and see people who are talking about healthy food and showing so much joy...
I wonder, for those whose stomach already has issues/ulcers, would it be a bad idea to use the vinegar before meals cos wouldn't this burn the stomach surface?
