think the biggest problem is one that plagues so many things: people are sheep. They go wherever everyone else is going even if it sucks balls. Companies are always cashing in on them regardless of whether the trend actually has any legs to it or is good for anyone.
I don’t spend money on online only dlcs like destiny 2 dlc or the dinvsion because all that money is going be for nothing when the servers shut down and you can’t use the dlc content you bought once it’s shut down
I skipped TCM cause I saw what happend to friday the 13th, evil dead and home sweet home so I was not hyped like some of my friends were, dbd has the luck of being 1st of it's kind on the market thats why it's still kicking, but even so I found dbd more fun when there was broken things in it cause that ment fun but also back then people played it to goof around and nowdays everyone seats like I get flamed all the time for not using meta perks as survivior, deleted that when alien dropped and ohh mannn like I was removed cancer from my body.
I actually we're long time to opposed this whole "always online" practice ever since Ubisoft decided to announce The Crew 1 will require internet connection to even get past the "connecting to servers" nonsense, same goes to Need For Speed 2015, and later Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown that'll coming up this September and since Ubisoft shuts down The Crew 1 servers, that's it, one pretty much screwed either way whether they're own it physically or digitally, and it doesn't help Ubisoft would later shamelessly took away that game from people's libraries of Ubisoft games shortly after, which only giving more power to this whole "Stop Killing Games" movement
I’m still gonna play tcm since I already brought it but as soon as the servers get shut down once the game starts losing more and more players the game will probably barely be playable anymore since you’ll have to rely on the small amount of people who would still play it in the first place especially since the game would most likely become peer to peer since the servers would no longer be available so unless you have a friend group who still would enjoy playing the game after it’s inevitable demise, or if you can find others who still play. Tcm will become nearly unplayable and this is just one of the many reasons why online only games are crap. If Devs can just add a bot mode or any kind of single player functionality, then this would at least make the game still playable after the player count starts dropping. Hopefully tcm devs will realize that soon
