Unpowered stuff will de-spawn after a while, that's probably what happened to all the junk you wanted to suck up. As for the proto-tech stuff the assembler uses proto-tech scrap to manufacture proto-tech components, everything but the frames which you can only obtain by looting them from Factorum bases, and the frames are needed to make any new proto-tech blocks. Scrap is obtained either as loot from bases or from destroyed proto-tech. Generally speaking you wont be manufacturing a ton of proto-tech components so a single proto-tech assembler is all you really need, I usually grind down any extras I find for proto-scrap. Proto-tech panels are the only thing you can grind off of proto-tech blocks and also the only components that can be built by the assembler without scrap. So that's how the loot loop goes, steal tech until you get more of something than you need and grind the extras for scrap to make other proto-tech stuff you want. Different encounters can have random proto-tech, but most have a guaranteed block, for example one of the random bases always has a drill, another will always have a thruster but then they will also have a random piece of proto-tech as well.Hope that helps and good hunting.
@@PandemicPlayground NP, Also just a heads up but few of the Factorum encounters are straight forward. Most have a mechanic you have to figure out to win, or in some cases keep your prize. Fortunately there is only maybe half a dozen different encounters and once you get them figured out you'll be farming all the proto-tech you can handle.
Im just posting this after many game resets. The self destruct warhead on the factorum warship that spawns in is in the jumpdrive room underneath the console.
