Thank you for the shout out and sorting the cable out for me
I've normally hunted around to get the correct cable, but as I mentioned, some are £50+ and that repair is so much cheaper for the customer and it keeps older machines running instead of scrapping because of 1 cable, while the rests is still good.
I'll be making a tool draw for cable making items from now on.
TBH, I'm just an enthusiastic amateur that made his enjoyment of fixing machinery his business.

Did some nice work mick on the cable to fix that mower getting to that point to make your own cables on the mowers we find that are broken

Awesome, a suggestion to keep the profile down on the z bend is to use two grub screws.

Exactly how to do it - cheap, fast and easy. Done so for many years, and it lasts.

I couldn't get a cable for my 1965 JP Super Power mower! I used a Vespa brake cable and the old outer to make one! Works perfect and you wouldn't know unless I told you.
I will keep it a secret lol

Good job mate perhaps not related to cables
but in my machines I’ve been running “liqui Molly friction reducer”
which is normally 500 mils to 6 L of engine oil and I work it out for 500 mils put it in the engine oil and you can feel its much easier to pull the starter
the friction is definitely less by feel
Would be a lot better for cold starts to my mind
Might be worth having a look at yourself or Your viewers might be interested in that option…….!!

I just watched Kenny (Ken's Small Engine Repair) make a cable. The dealer wanted 80 USD for a new one. Those cable crimpers are called swedges here in the U.S. Nice fix for a buddy!
