    Srixon soft feel I wish were just a slight bit more durable because I hit one well for about 3 4 holes then I look and it has a hairline fracture through the shell never fails. I love the Bridgestone matte green e12 soft feel favorite ball

    I've just bought a box of 12 Srixon soft feel balls and I'm a 18 handicapper and the lovely to strike of the tee. I can't get away with a hard feel ball, I always top it or slice it. I know it's my head moving up but I cured that a while ago. But since playing with these soft Srixon my ball striking has improved emensley

      I'm a 2 handicap and I love the Srixon Soft feels. I hit them more accurate than any other ball. I can slow my swing off the tee and they still launch long and feel amazing. I find lots of premium balls, so I never have to pay for them, but even so, I think I prefer the Soft feel to Pro VI. The will miss due to side spin. I hit the ball high naturally and only rarely need lots of spin, so the benefit of straight flight, soft feel is a good trade off. Sometimes I hit an iron and think I missed the green and it ends up inside 20ft (if I had hit a 3 piece I might have?). The Taylor made TP5/X are nice too, but you can't go wrong with Srixon.

      I hated the Taylormade tp5x feels like a rock and I'm.used to vice pro and srixon Z star. But the tp5x feels way harder of the face. That's just my cup of tea. Gonna go for the srixon q star tour which is 72 in comp. Think that they will suite my needs and playing style.
      Don't want to soft a ball beacuse i loose the feel of the face when I go to like say 40-50 in compression. 3 piece ball is the way to go. I'm a 17 hdcp player.
      But I love the srixon Z star and that's the ball I'm gonna stick with when i nail my shots more evenly.

    I found that the Srixon ad333 gets some nice back spin. The soft feel also does stop nicely. Keep the costs low compared to pro V1.

    I've been testing a variety of golf balls over the last few months. I am 64 with a 3 handicap and I would rank Srixon in the top five so far that also includes Titleist ProV1, Vice Pro Soft, Taylor Made TP5, and Bridgestone.

    Wilson elite 50 and Wilson duo and dou spin are excellent golf balls they launch high and hold the green really well. it will fly mostly straight but you can get it to draw or fade on command. Distance off the tee is excellent as well. I have a driver swing speed of 92-96 mph and avg 225-235 driver carry when hit well. wedges spin great.

    Watch the video and found it very informative. I know that each of us have our preferences but i tried the SRIXON Soft feel and just was not impressed. Right now I play with Bridgestone (bxs) and love it. I am thinking I am getting the same or more distance than the PRO V1 that i use to play with. The other that works for me is the VICE Pro, again each of us have what work for us that day, so we stick to that one, but it is always good to see some other suggestions to get another's insight. .... Cheers

    Try Bridgestone e6. I have a good approach shot if I hit the green with any short iron the ball is always within 1 foot to 1 yard of were it hit

      Ross McBride I love the Wilson 50, but have been using the Wilson Duo Soft for about two weeks. They are soft off the irons and clubs, plus about 8 yards of distance.

    • @tiborsol7959
      @tiborsol7959 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      That’s what happened and they jacked the price up to pretty much the same as TP 5. The problem TM had with the project A was it was too good and too well priced which really killed sales of their TP5 while they were trying to promote the TP5 as the equal of a prov1. I loved the project A . I am a 14 handicap. The tour response is ok as a ball but in truth just an over priced project a. Now using Srixon Q star tour which are a similar price point to where the project a sat and they are great. As good as a project a but they have a good alignment strip and are maybe a little more resilient to wear.

    I recommend people also try some of the direct to consumer balls - they usually have a full range too - snell, oncore (which I love but only available in USA), vice, seed (one of my favourite), inesis (super value). Also worth trying to find the right honma (twx), Bridgestone (bxs) or mizuno balls (like the 566) in this category. Inesis soft is upper value and great for mid handicappers.

    I save where I can, I play a cheaper ball, a srixon soft feels noodle titleist trufeel even a nitro on wet days because more distance and greens are going to hold better but dry firm days I’ll play a pro v1x pro v1 both refurbishment or if I want premium I’ll play a Bridgestone tour b rx or xs

    I’ve been using taylormade project (a), it spins well, without a lot of distance loss. The Wilson staff balls are really good affordable low compression balls. are really I’ve heard bad things about Callaway’s quality control. The newer ones may be better.

    Giveaway. I prefer the 3 piece ball. I am partial to the Taylormade golf balls. I love the TP5x and I really like the Project (a) but both are a little expensive. Recently I have been using the Top Flite Gamer Urethane ball. They are a cheap 3 piece ball. I sacrifice distance, but it's worth it for the control on the approach and around the greens

    I'm a 50 yr old 6 handicap golfer and use 2 or 3 piece balls as i spin the ball loads. These top end balls like pro v or tp5s don't benifit any golfer unless your a low or scratch golfer and you would benifit from using balls like the srixon soft feel as these high end spin balls will kill your game. I've gamed the top end balls and i lose distance as they spin way too much for me. Ball prices have got too expensive and i would never pay more than £20 a dozen

    • @outofboundsgolf
      @outofboundsgolf  4 ปีที่แล้ว

  • @irahartoch1075
    @irahartoch1075 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    First, I have no idea what you consider a "mid" handicap. Second, it is tough to pigeon hole people into golf balls based solely on handicap. There are "mid" handicappers who are such because they don't have the distance to reach greens in regulation while there are others who can bomb the ball but have no idea what direction it will go and have no short game. Finally, "feel" is a very individual thing. I am a senior with an index that runs around 8.0 -/+. I consider that a "better mid handicap", especially since a few years ago I was 5.5+/- before the "age distance loss" got me. Personally, I can't stand balls that feel like marshmallows when I hit them so the only ball on your list I would even consider is the ProV-1 which, ironically is what I usually play. I switch to ProV-1x in very warm weather and Velocity in very cold weather. All 3 feel very solid when I hit them, especially around the green and with my putter. But I know others who have a similar handicap who feel just the opposite... they love the soft balls.
