Any time I face a hardship or I'm feeling depressed, this song comes to mind. I heard it when I was a child playing Grandia 2. I would reset the game just to hear Elena sing it over and over (I attribute that to why I know the lyrics by heart LOL) I'm so glad the creators of this game took so much time to develop the music and atmosphere of this game. Though it's old; I feel like it stands against some of the newer titles we have today. Obviously not in terms of graphics and gameplay... but...story, atmosphere, and music? Definitely takes the cake on this game. I love you Grandia 2
Birth of sun, words, miracle Pure water, a tear Peace, light, love... Fruit, agreste, breath, freedom Harmony, blessing wind Thanks... Storm, unquiet, darkness Sunshine, happyness, thanks to God English Translation.
i have the collection physical on nintendo switch and boy glad that i bought that. or? got it from my girlfriend in the past, ps2 but garmia tower was mutch and mutch to loude. this is based on the saturn and the dream cast version in the past also my girlfriend toald me a story about grandia 1. april 14, 2000 in amsterdam in a game store named fame. she saw a 2 disc set high up liing around. that was grandia 1 ps1 and her only ps1 game. so her father gets it high up the shelth. they pay that game and she loved it. for grandia 2? in the past it was on the pc but man buggs everything. then the steam version came. mutch better and now? we have both games on 1 cardridge on nintendo switch. but what is the song if you are in a church?
Holy cow, this takes me back. I remember watching my dad play this game when I was a little kid, sitting in his lap. I used to hum this song all the time. Man, this song still brings tears. Now it holds a stronger meaning now that I finally see what the words are.
Maybe it's on purpose that Kaori Kawasumi pronounces the spanish/portuguese words in a japanese way. I think it gives the song a magical character, like it has an own language especially created for the game! :3
I'm Brazillian, my language is portuguese... I played this game, remember this music but as I have never seen a portuguese music in a game I never imagined that this music is portugues, still... it's great.
thx man i'm actually portuguese and it is kinda difficult to catch what the singer says but since you have the lyrics it makes all sense now. dc and grandia 2 4life xD
One of those songs that creep up your spine with blissful tingles that tantalize your mind and reverberate through your soul.... at least for me... first time i heard this... it was burned into my being.
Birth of sun, words, miracle Pure water, a tear Peace, light, love... Fruit, agreste, breath, freedom Harmony, blessing wind Thanks... Storm, unquiet, darkness Sunshine, happyness, thanks to God the song in english
Lovely... beautiful voice, though I see the Japanese woman has an accent. Gosh, best RPG I've ever played. I used to watch my mom play it, then my dad, when I was too young to remember a lot of the game, but I always pretended to sing like Elena. xD Now my sister bought a Dreamcast and this game, so we both play on our seperate files. :) totally Epic!
this song is sung in Portuguese PORTUGUESE - A DEUS Nascer do Sol, palavras, milagre Água pura, uma lágrima Paz, luz, amor… Fruto agreste, respiração, liberdade Harmonia, vento da benção Agradecimento… Tempestade, inquietação, escuridão Luz do Sol, alegria, graças a Deus ENGLISH - TO GOD Sunrise, words, miracle Pure water, a tear Peace, light, love ... Wild fruit, breathing, freedom Harmony, wind blessing Thanks ... Storm, restlessness, darkness Sunlight, joy, thank God
@crestofvalmar123 Well, speaking from just the music stand point. Many of the chords are dissonant and the harmony that comes in only intensifies the dissonance. The violin is what brings a lot of the melancholy, while the harp keeps it light and airy. Like the slight glimmer of hope.
I can't believe the beautiful works that are being created for video games. This is truly one of those extremely outstanding works. The words, the music, the perfection that went into this song is INCREDIBLE! This song is TRULY a Praise to our Creator. A definite tearjerker too. :) Joe
This song is beautiful, it reminds me of my first time playing this on my old PC. I just recently got a Dreamcast from a flea market and i love it, it's sad how a console with so much potential died so early.
@Rafa3l16 Same here. All these years I've been humming this song in my head (specially if I'm sad) only to discover that is sang in my own language. Awesome :)
Each time i heard this song on the storyline...would pause for like 10 minutes before doing anyhing! It's so sad and nostalgic but at the same time soothing and peaceful!...Either Way This is my favorite soundtrack of this game! And I Never Get Tired of listening to it!
the moment i heard this song being sung by elena at the start of the game, i immediately got hooked. immediately i knew that this game, like other games ive played before (namely FF8,9) will always remain with me. one of the best games ever. too bad theres no such games being made nowadays. all obssesed on creating new systems instead on just focusing on the story and developing the characters.
Have you tried searching online? IIRC, Grandia 2 was only made for Dreamcast and PC (and it's pretty old). I had DC version. I don't think any stores would sell it anymore, try looking on ebay or something.
ever time i listen to this i start to sing it me and my cousin always sing this together idk y tho probably becuz its awsome ehh i prett like all themes from grandia 2 lol
I just heard the song while I was playing and came here to search for the song. it sounded very familiar, yet I couldn't figure it out it was indeed in portuguese, because its pronounce is japanese mixed with portuguese from portugal. I'm brazilian so i'm not used to hear that accent.
amen to that:D i have it on my DC and played it recently just have to love it:D many things such as sound-effects are like taken away in the PC and PS2 version , thats why DC is the GREATEST:D:D!!!!
It means "To God". 'A' in Portuguese means 'to' as far as I know. And, the last three words are translated "Thanks to God". And, it's not weird for Grandia II because there was someone considered a God in the game.
The singer is indeed Japanese... when she sings, she puts some vowels that actually don't exist... that makes some words difficult to understand. She's got a bit of a European Portuguese accent... Beautiful song!
Does anyone remember the remixed version of this song? Lol I was way too young too remember the game all that well, but this song's always stuck with me to this day :)
i really love this game. i got so far into the game, right near the end, but my pc became corrupted, needed reformatting and i lost all my saved data... :(
I have this song!! I really want to find the frantic music they have when the 80's hair band screaming starts happening and the electric organ comes in, like at garmia tower when things go bad, its perfect for when i'm late :D
i´m portuguese and this is the way the japanese spell portuguese words. exemple? card in portugguese is carta in japanese is kareta. for english speekers this is noosense but anyone speeking portuguese it will make sense
@SeraphinBR I must've overlooked XD. You're such a perfectionist haha. Anyway, when you read the lyrics translation, you can see that 'a Deus' means 'to God'. I'm gonna put it in now.
@crestofvalmar123 lol yea forgot to thank you for putting this up. and lol seriously? youre from a filipino? xD finally someone else from my country who actually took a liking to this game :))
Yup, works really good. I was surprised that it worked too. The guy who sold it to me accidently left a copy of Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2 in there, so that was a plus.
I don't like songs about Gods and i don't like the church because of something that happened in my life. BUT: this song is so beautifull, that it makes me forget all my sorrow...
@crestofvalmar123 lol i played it alone but finished it a couple of times :)) tho i almost always stop at the part where you have to explore valmar's body lol. coz that place is just so large xD but yea i still pulled thru..mainly because of wanting to hear cancao do povo being sung by the ppl before the final dungeon and by elena at the end :)) or and granas sanctuary too. their awesome melody made this game all the more rewarding to play and finish.
Is the CD Grandia II music selection by Noriyuki Iwadare rare? I got a hold of one but I dont know if it came with the Dreamcast or if it was sold as just a CD. Can someone please let me know. Thank You

Same, been coming back to it ever since it released
My wife walked down the aisle to this song, still uses it for her wake up alarm...
Wow. Please tell me you had that moment recorded. :D

@@Caerulean why, you want to see the video?
Holy cow, this takes me back. I remember watching my dad play this game when I was a little kid, sitting in his lap. I used to hum this song all the time. Man, this song still brings tears. Now it holds a stronger meaning now that I finally see what the words are.
I miss this game so much. It’s still my favorite game to date !!!❤❤❤
Linda música emociona

This is possibly one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard. It moves me so much.
BRINGS BACK SO MANY MEMORIES FOR ME
Elena's song is one od most epic RPG moments.... About two decades later i still come back to it...
I love this song! Elena is the best
this song still puts me to sleep in a calm peaceful state of mind in 2019
First RPG i've ever beaten, when I was 14. I fell in love with Elena and this song right away.

I love the game and the songs!!
There's something about this song that really calms me. I just keep picturing the same place in my dreams when I hear this song.
I remember playing the soundtrack cd (with Grandia 2 on Dreamcast) all the time in my CD Player.
Elena, I love you !!!
I finished this game a lot of times and NEVER realized Elena was singing in portuguese, and I'm Brazilian! lol Awesome! :D
Really brings me back
lol I always got my interest and attention caught when this song is played. I'm getting excited each time they're starting to play this song.
thx man i'm actually portuguese and it is kinda difficult to catch what the singer says but since you have the lyrics it makes all sense now.

Am I the only one who thinks this song is eerie and haunting? Like, a cry for help or something? Its almost bittersweet.
This song is quite nice...beautiful actually
Lovely tune, thanks for the upload :)

I like this song a lot. When I played Grandia 2 I keep the save slot that just before this song scene.

Such a great song! Sometimes I just couldn't exit the main menu and start the game, because I was too mesmerized by this song :)

Ah the first rpg I ever played to this day one of my favorites.
This song is beautiful, it reminds me of my first time playing this on my old PC.
I just recently got a Dreamcast from a flea market and i love it, it's sad how a console with so much potential died so early.

Muito bom, obrigado Game Arts.. (hope I spelled that right)
Such a amazing game 😩

One of the best games I have ever played , i wish they would make a follow up of this game or even a HD remaster one day
I agree!
The HD remaster is now available!!! Yay I'm replaying it now and loving the nostalgia. One of the best JRPGs I've ever played
I miss the 90's games
I was scared when I discovered that this song was in Portuguese haha! good times!
Such a beautiful song. If you like this check out "Secret Garden", particularly their song "Nocturne".
Yes. The song is very nice and adorable! whooh! lol
imo Grandia II was ok, but I will always love the original Grandia more. But this song is so pretty, I always loved hearing Elena sing it in-game =O

Oh, those two...I have them but cannot be uploaded here nor in Windows Movie Maker because of the video format. I'll try anyway.
