    As a brazillian, I could swear I heard portuguese words when playing! Everytime this song played, I cried, and didn't know why. Now I know. Deep inside I understood everything from the beggining.

    It's songs like this that remind me how absolutely amazing the soundtrack to this game was. Every song was a banger.

    More then twenty years since i heard this song for the first time and yet it lost none of its magic and serenity even thoe i could not understand a signle word of it back then .now when i actually know the lyrics it only makes the feelings it evokes even stronger .....

    I think it's a Japanese woman singing Portuguese so her accent may be strong. Her voice is beautiful.

    • @Pdr0fsa
      @Pdr0fsa 4 ปีที่แล้ว +16

      You're on point! I'm brazilian and we do not speak with that accent. Indeed it sounds like a japanese woman trying to speak portuguese.

    • @joaopires1761
      @joaopires1761 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@Pdr0fsa I will add that - to make it even harder for Brazilians - it's clear she tried to emulate an accent from Portugal, not Brazil. As a Portuguese person, I'm fine with it, but it's still very hard to understand haha.

    • @leotapistola
      @leotapistola 2 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      @@joaopires1761 she didn't try to emulate any accent, this is just how the japanese language works, there are sounds of other languages that they do not have and vice-versa... if you listen a japanese person speaking english and other languages you will understand. That's what happened here, she uses the closest sound she has in japanese, that's why it's hard to understand, but no, she is not trying to emulate any accent there, although it really sounds more like portuguese from Portugal than from Brazil

    • @IKimdraculaI
      @IKimdraculaI ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@leotapistola I think she did try to emulate the Portuguese accent, because she uses key sounds and speech patterns to that accent. Like when she says “Tempestade” as “Tmpxtaduh” (suppressing most vogals) or “Inquietação” as “inquietaçÁO” (using an open A sound).
      As the music is made to reminisce a bardy churchy medieval cantiga, they went for the European accent to train the singer and that makes total sense.

    • @leotapistola
      @leotapistola ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@IKimdraculaI "paravuras" "miraguri" that's clearly japanese sounds... It's exactly how a japanese person would sound when speaking portuguese. Is the same thing when they say "macudonarudu" when speaking Mc donald's in english. Listen to "Japanglish" by Namewee and you will get it

    some trivia for non-portuguese speakers: A Deus can both be used to be "To God" or "Good bye" (the latter is written "Adeus" in the modern portuguese, but they sound exactly the same)

      In Portuguese we'd also write "à deus" for it to mean "to god". That À and not A makes a lot of difference... "A Deus" means nothing. But I get it, it's a play on adeus and à deus. Everything sounds the same anyway.
