Sleep deprivation really is a form of torture. My babies woke very frequently for feedings and changings. I didn't get much sleep, and after months of this, I felt I was going crazy. I cried, I was super emotional, even small things felt like more than I could handle. I don't think people truly give enough credit to how much sleep deprivation affects women who are already trying to heal from a major event (birth), and are expected to care for an infant and maintain the house and cooking at the same time. It is insane. There is no village anymore.
And some men are toddler husbands who are worthless around the house because their mothers never trained them. They're basically just another kid that has to be managed.

First time I've been utterly shocked by the description of the crime, even in Dr Grande's straightforward style. I was also squicked by the ad: "Before we get to the description of the crime, here's a word from our sponsor, HelloFresh." *Shows closeup of a knife chopping, then raw strips of meat* 😬 😬 😬
Its educative for me when you talk about diagnosing personality disorders, and it's quite shocking that even these extremely dangerous people might not be officially diagnosed with any disorder!
Mental health and the law are not well meshed. Many criminals have mental health problems and many mentally challenged people commit crimes. But the two realms do not intersect in smooth or fluid fashion. This is one of the big problems society faces!
I would theorize that having botched the attempt at framing his wife and subsequently losing control of his assets he became destitute. The sudden loss of material well being drove him to end his life where his body would never be found.
Wow! I Don t think a man could get away with that now. I certainly hope not. Thank you Dr Grande. I had mot heard of this case before. Enjoyed your analysis.
Thank you so much. Being an ageing Aussie I can say your analysis of this family murderer is exemplary, among the best, if not number one, of all other reports I have seen about the man and his meticulous plan to rob his family members of their lives. Further, your report on the local Victorian police seems an accurate summation of standard operations at the time, more's the pity.
He did kind of in a Q & A type thing if I recall. I know he is married and I think has three kids, was in an accident that paved his path to the here and now. It explains a little as to why he chose his career in psychology. He likes his cactus plants. Dang, sorry, I binged so many of these until I noticed some things that I didn't like. So, I catch one here and there when they show up.
Be still my heart! Just kidding - but I just talked about the fact that sponsors like Hello Fresh are missing out by not letting Dr Grande do the ad ! And look- here it is! So fun to see Dr Grande cook. I assume it really is him of course.🤠💕
The security guards here in my apartment complex would say - Stop Security. Don’t mind me I’m just going to stand here and “monitor” the situation until law enforcement arrives. You just continue with what you were doing.
As an Australian true crime nerd I hadn’t heard of this case either. Then again, family annihilators aren’t exactly unheard of. A year or 2 ago up in Queensland a man locked his wife and kids in their car and set it on fire before committing suicide. More commonly a recently separated father will kill his kids to get revenge on the mother. I just read ‘Look What You Made Me Do’ which covers seperate cases of both of these types of murderers.
Even though it was a time before we had a lot of the forensic technology we have now, it’s still really interesting to see the ingenuitive and inventive ways they still collected evidence and came to conclusions like with the imprint of the fan. Really cool.
Speaking of Australia, ever heard of the Beaumont Children, the Adelaide Oval disappearance, the Family Murders (these three may be related), and the Somerton Man (totally unrelated; the Isdal Woman in Norway is similar)? edit: and Mr Cruel?
The Somerton Man and the Isdal woman make me so sad. Okay, the drawing of the woman that was spread looks like a chikd drew it, but the face of the Somerton Man was photographed and still nobody knows him. Nobody ever missed these people? That's terrible.

His intent was to have the car end up in the ocean. He likely did not see that it had only just failed to make it into the water. The point at which he pushed the car over (at night) drops into deep ocean water.
At around 13:57 you mentioned a “colonial inquest” but I think you might mean “coronial”? The coroner’s office holds an inquiry as to the potential evidence to see if there’s enough to bring charges. Also, the gas (petrol) cans in the car at Loch Ard would possibly have been needed because at the time gas/petrol stations closed ridiculously early and you just couldn’t refuel 24/7 as can be done now. My parents often tell the story of racing to the hospital to have a baby, panicking more about the low fuel level in the tank than the impending birth.
When the stress levels are elevated popping in for a Grande shirt audit eases the tension. If you don’t dress up as David Byrne for Halloween that would be a tragic mistake. You should do a vid in that ensemble.

I will miss those sudden outbursts of energy and impromptu cartwheels.
Go w/ God, gurl.
He's got you now.
Wow! Now that finally made me cry (Judy)😰
First time I've been utterly shocked by the description of the crime, even in Dr Grande's straightforward style.
I was also squicked by the ad:
"Before we get to the description of the crime, here's a word from our sponsor, HelloFresh."
*Shows closeup of a knife chopping, then raw strips of meat* 😬 😬 😬
Same reaction here!
Jeez doc you are going full speed at getting these vids out thank you for your dedication to us and your hard work from UK 🇬🇧
Not only speed and numbers but total quality!💎
Thank you Doctor, Elmer sure made things complicated. He could have just disappeared himself.
Absolutely agree - same thing occurred to me.
Right?
He did...
@@frankenns I think she meant "INSTEAD of killing and THEN disappearing,". So he could have JUST DISAPPEARED.
Dah!🧐🥺🙄😏.
Okay, have a great day!🙂
Would you consider analyzing contestants on shows like the bachelor, love island, or temptation island? If you can stomach it.
I don’t watch those shows but I would love this
I don't watch those shows and would not love this
Let's have him do Netflix's Sexy Beasts.I hate these dating shows, but I'd love to see what he would say about it.
There is not much to it :) they go there to gain instagram followers and become famous
@@bthomson I don't know if it is a problem for the State to solve. See eg USSR's use of psychiatry.
I was looking through the comments for mention of List, and then Dr Grande brought it up! They're incredibly similar cases.
I’ve seen a lot of HelloFresh ads but Grande’s amateur ad shoot was the only one who made me even consider subscribing to it
My 89 year old aunt just gave her approval of you, well done ✅
You have a cool aunt
Good afternoon, Dr. Grande! Thank you!
A weird comment: I actually really like the ads in the middle of the videos. It reminds me of old time radio shows I've heard.
I would theorize that having botched the attempt at framing his wife and subsequently losing control of his assets he became destitute. The sudden loss of material well being drove him to end his life where his body would never be found.
Interesting that this possibility is almost never raised in this case. It is certainly true of some similar cases.
Wow! I Don t think a man could get away with that now. I certainly hope not. Thank you Dr Grande. I had mot heard of this case before. Enjoyed your analysis.
Do you think that is actually his kitchen. HelloFresh has a lot of production shoots.
I know my love for Dr Grande's voice is real when he can convince me to spend money on something. Great video as always.
Will you ever make a video about your life? You seem like a really interesting person and I'd love to hear
about your story
He did kind of in a Q & A type thing if I recall. I know he is married and I think has three kids, was in an accident that paved his path to the here and now. It explains a little as to why he chose his career in psychology. He likes his cactus plants. Dang, sorry, I binged so many of these until I noticed some things that I didn't like. So, I catch one here and there when they show up.
@@amandastakeonit7402 what are the things you didn’t like?
There is a lot of info on his personal life on Patreon.
Be still my heart! Just kidding - but I just talked about the fact that sponsors like Hello Fresh are missing out by not letting Dr Grande do the ad ! And look- here it is! So fun to see Dr Grande cook. I assume it really is him of course.🤠💕
Watching Dr. Grande cook dinner enlightened me.
It's always a dicey proposition to name your kid something like, "Elmer."
13:57, it is Coronial Inquest, not Colonial Inquest, however I understand the misspeak as most of the world thinks we're a colony still. :)
I got that too and had the same thought!
The security guards here in my apartment complex would say -
Stop Security. Don’t mind me I’m just going to stand here and “monitor” the situation until law enforcement arrives. You just continue with what you were doing.
Omg I'm from Perth Western Australia, but I've never heard of this case before! Amazing vid Dr Grande!
I love how u enunciate your words, Dr. Grande... I can listen to you say "fresh" all day!
You are always helpful Dr Todd. Thank you for your very informative input
Love the sponsor man, gotta definitely try this out hopefully they have this for my state and city
Even though it was a time before we had a lot of the forensic technology we have now, it’s still really interesting to see the ingenuitive and inventive ways they still collected evidence and came to conclusions like with the imprint of the fan. Really cool.
This is the first time I’ve seen that Dr. Grande had hit the one million mark.
Congratulations🎈🎉🍾🎊🎈
Speaking of Australia, ever heard of the Beaumont Children, the Adelaide Oval disappearance, the Family Murders (these three may be related), and the Somerton Man (totally unrelated; the Isdal Woman in Norway is similar)? edit: and Mr Cruel?
I am so over the Beaumont children. It has been gone over and evaluated by so many detectives, journalists, authors, podcasts and so on.
The Somerton Man and the Isdal woman make me so sad. Okay, the drawing of the woman that was spread looks like a chikd drew it, but the face of the Somerton Man was photographed and still nobody knows him. Nobody ever missed these people? That's terrible.
Mr cruel is horrific!! what an absolute monster of a 'man' .....
@@amandastakeonit7402 a lot of the people hanging off the Beaumont case are unprofessional and in some instances scammers.
Ahhh yessss, I'm having a hard time falling asleep, and lucky me saw a new Dr. Grande video! Usually I speed up the playback, because I get distracted, but on insomnia nights, I leave the speed on normal. Something aout his voice 😊
Dr. G, you're great. Does it ever start to get to you, talking about these terrible cases? Idk how you do it!
For me, being a chef, that Hello Fresh promo was quite painful to watch, but I like everything with Dr. Grande’s narration.
Hey! Listen! For us non-cooks that demonstration was very encouraging and made us feel that maybe, just maybe, we too could manage to create decent meals!👩🍳👩🌾👽👾
Cars in the movies always blow up when they go over cliffs, therefore his plan was sure to work.
It takes a lot of preparation to make that happen. He didn't know that. Imagine his chagrin when he saw the car just sitting there.
His intent was to have the car end up in the ocean. He likely did not see that it had only just failed to make it into the water. The point at which he pushed the car over (at night) drops into deep ocean water.
What an sad and awful story. Those poor kids. The food looked delicious btw. Thank you for the video 🌲🌳🌵🌱⚘🌵
That bit about the fan blade is a great tip, thanks Doc
Dr. G reading the ad in his monotone voice is definitely an interesting listen.
He intended for the car to drop into the depths of the ocean, not explode.
Hopefully he spent the rest of his life riddled with anxiety, looking over his shoulder expecting the authorities to be there to bring him to justice
When the stress levels are elevated popping in for a Grande shirt audit eases the tension. If you don’t dress up as David Byrne for Halloween that would be a tragic mistake. You should do a vid in that ensemble.
David Byrne from the Talking Heads?
That large suit!
Thank you for bringing this case to our attention. Most unusual story.! Btw, any new cactus?
Congratulations Dr.Grande on reaching one million subscribers! 🎈🎉🎈🎊🎈🍾
I dont understand why this channel has 1 million subscribers and only 6k likes!! This guy is awesome! It takes less than a second to hit the like button and by doing so you are helping Dr. Grande to continue giving us the quality viewing we all love. Give the guy a like!
Hi Dr. Grande, I hope you are well! I was wondering if you would be able to make a video on cannabis withdrawal syndrome? I am in the process of quitting cannabis and I had no idea just how severe both the psychological and physiological symptoms were.
YET THEY SAY ITS NOT ADDICTIVE 😏🤔🤨

Thanks for doing something fresh, this season of Life was getting dry
I remember this horrific case. 😞 I wish I didn't know about it at all 😞
I’d love to see an analysis of Drew Perterson, former Bolingbrook police officer who’s been convicted of murdering his 3rd wife and his fourth has been missing and never found.
Drew Peterson has to be a classic narcissist. Horrible man.
