We often set up awnings for our customers in North Wales at the beginning of each season, we always make sure that it's a two person team and we allow at least 45 minutes for the erection of the awning to the customers specification.
It depends on make and model. With mine, I've always found it way easyer mounting the whole frame alone, and the pulling the whole fabric over the skeleton. Then, I put some tension here and there and here we go.
Awning Erecters are "taught " how to put up awnings. Awnings themselves need to be Taut !! would say lay out poles away from working area, so they do not get bent by being trodden on ! and pegs should be inserted into ground at 45% from the structure, not vertical !
Thanks, not used our pole awning in years and the video will save loads of head scratching and the knackered at the end of a long drive /domestic! 😅

Agreed, it's a BIG mistake to lay the poles out before putting the awning onto the caravan.
I look at these videos and always wonder why they dont put the draught skirt on. Surely the draught skirt should go on before the awning is attached

First time we did our awning it was blowing a gale. Got slapped in the face by a zip end. At the point i lost it and had to walk away for 10 mins.
