Man, that is an amazing shop, probably the nicest thing in Portland. Also, Mrs W has the brightest most genuine and infectious smile, really brightens ones day to see it. God Bless you Wranglerstars.
I absolutely am passionate about wood working love watching the tools. I miss working with my hands. I was a contractor for years. Great video content thanks for sharing
Those corner joints are PHENOMENAL! Just an elegant and strong design. Sounds like they were a fantastic family business that treat their customers well. Glad to hear they're doing well and looks like they're staying busy.
I had the privilege of working at creative for just under 5 years, I learned everything I know in the woodworking world there. Bob taught me so much as well as Alex (the knife sharpener/ main moulder man) I started just sweeping up shop and ended off on the moulder (the 6 headed machine) I made lifelong friends there and still stop by every once in a while to say hi to everyone and grab a couple boxes of the wood stove briquettes. It’s such a fun place and great group of people to work with. This was a great video to watch as someone who got to spend every day there for quite some time
After a decade of watching this might be a new favorite. I can't help but wonder if there are any shops that do similar work in Cincinnati. Absolutely a craftsman dream shop. What an awesome experience. Thanks for sharing!
What a great family business. I love to see generations working together. We way too often don't include children in business like this. God is good, brother. I hope you get to feeling better, and you already know we're praying. God bless you and your wonderful family 🙏
"I married Rain Man" It always warms my heart to hear couples' jokes or gentle teasing, especially when the underlying love is so apparent. You and Mrs. W both picked good ones, Cody!
Machinery is utterly fascinating and this piece is beyond spectacular. Someone really knew what they were doing when they built it. So amazing. I love this episide, and as always, Mrs. W is darling. 😍
I love that those young boys are in there around all that work being done. It reminds me of going to work with my dad as a child. Too many kids these days have no idea what work is. It's good for them to be in the middle of it.
I was going to say the exact same thing, it's great the kids are involved and watching every aspect of the business. I couldn't wait until I was old enough to go in and work at my dad's business.
Thank you for taking us along, and it's wonderful to see Mrs W enjoying the outing with you. Very impressive operation, very down to earth. Doug fir is really a versatile species. In the right application, I would not hesitate to use it as flooring stock. It would show some wear, but it would take on character. The heartwood has a beautiful grain.
My grandfather on my dad's side was the town carpenter and woodworker in Waynesville, Illinois from the 1920s until the late 1960s. He had a shop uptown where he made anything out of wood that the locals needed. Made lots of window sashes. I spent lots of good time with him in his shop learning his skills. He would be very impressed with this fine shop in Portland. Thank you so much for being an active participant in the old ways, the ways that built this great country. Family values. Act accordingly.
As a woodworker I find it hilarious that your amazed by the sizes and processes because I'm so used to them. Funny how I still watched the entire video because I still like to see shops! Thanks for the video pretty cool that you share this with many others. Note the first machine is called a moulder. Seeing that shop has the best wide belt sanders too! Costa! Top of the line.
It's good to see Mama. We don't get to see her much. This place is really a great place. With all the folks worried about being sued to allow you folks to go and be there is amazing. Great vid. Thanks.
LOVE THIS!! This is right up my alley. At first I feared a "look at what this town has become" video. So thank you for sharing knowledge and wisdom. Would love to work and learn from you sir.!
I helped setup a shop to make fence boards from rough 2x6 using similar machines, takes a bit to figure out what the machines needs to run smoothly. Cool to see a shop that is capable of doing to order products, thanks for sharing.
So cool!!! I've heard of that place from Blacktail Studio, but never seen this much detail! And what a wonderful family! This is what America needs to get back to!
I wished I lived closer to them. I have 45 acres of hickory and oak in Ohio and have had many logs that I wanted to turn into lumber, but there is nothing like that I know of. That is amazing.
Cody, this is one of the best videos that you have produced IMHO. I love woodworking and this video had my attention for the full 18:49. Thank you for bringing us along for this amazing process, and what a wonderful family-owned business. I love the sawdust bricks, that was simply genius! Prayers for you and your family sir from Michigan.
Thats awesome! I work in a shop similar to this one in northern British Columbia but we also have our own sawmill.. We supply alot of timbers for TF's in the area. Just installed a Radio Frequency Kiln at the shop! Great video
very, very interesting. About 65 years ago I worked in a sawmill, but it was nothing like this. We only made the plain lumber though. Nice job. Thanks.
I've got some OG Douglas fir flooring I pulled from my dad's childhood home. This stuff has 60+ growth rings in 3/4's of an inch; hard as a rock; cut over a hundred years ago from the outside of big firs that had essentially stopped growing. Maybe the guys you used on your project can sand it for me, clean it up for reuse.
I love field trips. Great video. Worked in Portland at the Eastside federal building for twenty years. Water tight joints. Side businesses with no waste
Like an old school Wranglerstar video! This is the content I prefer! By the way, Cody we are due for another axle handle making video! Stay safe & God Bless.
The goal ladies and gentleman- get yourself an amazing woman that looks at you the way Mrs. W looks at Cody. God Bless You two and your family, your energy together is very contagious and the relationship goal I work towards everyday 🙏
Wow, that shop was impressive! It's wonderful to see the ingenuity that went into the machinery that made all of this possible, as well as the love of the craft demonstrated by the family running this business. If I'm ever in Portland again, this would be a place I would like to visit. There isn't much else that would draw me there, however, so it's not too likely that I'll go there again. Thank you for sharing.
😮 thanks for the share. Really cool to see this operation like this. I always love the opportunities to pop into OB Williams here in Seattle and see their operations too.
@ so if you look at the word hope it is sometimes projected to help people become more positive. You coming on here have projected negative. Yes the problems in Portland are seriously horrible, but you have to project hope in order to make change. So be better @consco3667

Wow something GOOD from Portland, nice my MAN.
Glad to see there’s something good still coming out of Portland. Thanks for taking us on this field trip.
Don't forget about Voodoo donuts. That's the other good thing coming out of Portland.
There are MANY good things coming out of Portland!!!
Voodoo donuts are for tourists, they are not good,
Eating donuts covered in seed oil poison isn't a good idea anyways
@@tusk4519meh, it’s ok every now and then….
This service is what America was built on. . What a fantastic company
This is what caring about your customers looks like.
I love that you are supporting a quality local company
I really liked the voice over. Very crisp audio, super professional.
It's always a blessing when you have local craftsmen who produce work with such great tolerances and finish. It's gonna look good in the cabin.
The Redmond family has an awesome operation and are the best kind of people. Thank you for sharing their outstanding work!
Probably my favorite video you’ve done…maybe ever
I am totally on board with this 1000%!

Thanks for spotlighting them. It is so heart warming to see.
What an awesome shop and family. It’s good to see these days. People like this are what everyone should strive to be like.
This is why America is great. Always enjoy the tour videos
The love and smiles! I love the love and smiles. The lumber is nice too.
It's always great to see the glowing Mrs. W
That's is something special. Thank you for sharing this Cody. Magnificent mix of manufacturing precision and family run charm.

I used to live two blocks away from Creative Woodworking, they're really great guys.
Creative Woodworking is such a great shop. One of the best wood shops in the USA IMHO.
Thanks for showing us this great company. This is what American business is all about!

Very impressive. Thanks for going the extra mile to show us that process.
