I appreciate your view on the male-female audience. I was widowed years ago, and dropped into single mom, lady proho world. My dad was a great man and did much to prepare me. My husband was a great man who created the foundation of a strong family unit. For all the man type things I've had to do, I am not a man and do not need to elbow my way into man spaces. I have enjoyed your channel for several years. I've learned much, been entertained and moved on when the subject wasn't for me. I cannot fathom taking umbrage at you not being female inclusive. BELOVED and general respect for your audience is plenty inclusive for me.
It's awesome to hear how your dad and husband laid a strong foundation for you and your family. I'm glad you find value in my channel and appreciate the balance we strive for. Your understanding and support mean a lot. God bless you and your family! 🙏💪
This isn't just a boot repair, this is a Dad doing something meaningful for his Son's trek back into the wood. Hug your Dads folks. Every single time you see them. Coming and going.
As soon as I saw these were Jacks boots, I knew what you were doing, Cody. I've cleaned my kids' shoes, and it's a dad's way of saying I love you. I can see you're proud of the literal steps he takes. I've watched Jack grow up and know that when he's off in the world, the things you've taught him will carry him through anything. You've inspired me to be a better father, husband, and Christian. I'm picking up what you're setting down! Thank you!
Wow, thank you for such a heartfelt comment. You're absolutely right-taking care of Jack's boots is my way of showing love and support. It's incredible to hear that you've watched Jack grow up and that our journey has inspired you. Being a father, husband, and Christian is a continuous journey, and I'm honored to be a part of your inspiration. Keep picking up what I'm setting down, and may God bless you and your family!
New father here, did not know this about shoes. Definitely a new concept for me on cleaning someone's shoes. Similarly never had a knowledge/care for longevity for leather shoes. Maybe I should... Thanks,
When Jack pulls those boots out of his red bag he will smile and know his father loves and cares for him, beaver and all. True testament to the bond between father and son.
The obvious pride you have for Jack choked me up a little bit. I saw that same look on my father's face when I came home from from Desert Storm, and I can picture it still to this day all these years later. You've raised a fine young man, sir, and it's gratifying to see you send him off with his boots restored with love and attention.
My family lost a cabin and a few thousand acres on that fire. A couple pairs of cattle are still missing as well. Tell jack we said thanks for the help.
May Yahweh restore what was taken 7 fold to you and yours. Be blessed and please reach out if you are in need. Most people don't understand how close cow's hoof and your mouth are connected for ranchers.
@simmyjohn5879just because his family owns a few thousand acres dosent make him a millionaire. It could be farmland passed down through generations from back when the west was first settled when land was cheap
I’ve always enjoyed your content and have been a subscriber for a while now. I love the fact that you are open and honest on your world views and don’t pander for viewers. Bravo for showing men the way they were when I was growing up. As a nearly 73 year old woman who watches and enjoys your channel; I love that you love your wife, your family, country and that God is ever present in your life. 😊
Thank you so much for your kind words and long-time support! It means a lot to hear that my content resonates with you and that you appreciate the values we hold dear. Your encouragement is truly heartwarming. May God bless you and your family as well,
Dang Cody, at 9:07 when you sat down to lace those boots and the music began, I felt it strongly. This is not just a man lacing a boot. With your history of wildfire service and now Jack's, to think of all the places those boots will go, the dangers they will face, the lifelong stories they will be a part of, the critical role they will have in success "out there". To watch a father take such care of those boots like you did, for Jack, hit really deep. And regarding why didn't Jack do his own boots, I know you were kidding I would point to motocross racers. They don't wash the bike or do the wreching just race the heck out of it. So to help gear up the hotshot in the family on short rest leave must be a real honor for you all! We have a lot of respect for wildland firefighters down here in Cali. And the families that produce more of them!
"This is a man's space", I love that plain speaking, so rare nowadays. This channel is so edifying for men, not all of us were brought up doing manly stuff, lacking fathers who had the requisite skills, knowledge or inclination. It's never too late to learn and fulfil one's potential as a man. Thank you Cody!
As a father of a deployed servicemen, I truly appreciate you taking the time to help your son even with something as simple as rehabbing a pair of boots. Good job Sir.
My dad always polished our shoes before any big event. You would just line them up beside his and he would make em look nice. Same thing with shirt, hang yours next to his and it got ironed perfectly. A simple yet incredible memory i have of my dad. It meant a lot to me. I'm sure your son will remember this.
Stopped watching for a while but started watching again when you brought back the truck maintenance videos and more importantly, the boot videos! We need more of this stuff
Cody the love you have for your boy is undeniable. After all these years I often think of the belt and buckle you made for him and his joyous response “ I love you papa.” God bless you
As a man who lost his father at 25. Sitting here 18 years later I do remember the little things he did for me. Jack will to thanks for binging back some fond memories. Good job pops
Love this man’s channel! My husband and I watch individually or together. Love what you do! You’re a great teacher! We’re from Tennessee and so appreciate what you did to come help after Helene. It will take continued donations and work to see our neighbors through.
This is deep man. This hits deeper knowing you were raised as I was. I love it and your boy will never understand (thank heaven) what you and I experienced and went through.
As a 25 year firefighter. I see no greater honor then being able to take care of your son like this! Helping him with your knowledge and experience to be successful! Great Good Dad video!
One day when you’re gone Jack can look back and see his dad living life. He’ll be able to view videos like this of his dad working hard and showing him love. It makes me miss my late dad.
Nothing better than taking care of something for your boy when their lives are so busy. Best dad feeling I've ever had. Thank you for inspiring me to reflect on that Cody.
What a great thing you did for Jack getting his boots "fire ready" for his next deployment....servant leadership! And good on you for bringing focus to the "maleness" of this channel....women are welcome, just not to the inner circle. May God continue to bless you and your family and keep Jack safe on his deployments.
Thank you so much for your kind words and unwavering support! It means a lot to us. Getting Jack's boots fire-ready is just one way we can support him in his vital work. I'm glad you appreciate the values we uphold on this channel. Your prayers and blessings are truly appreciated. May God continue to bless you and your family as well! 🙏👢🔥
Just finished my second year wearing my Nicks boots and always look forward to this process to keep my boots in top shape. And of course I learned about them from Mr. Wranglerstar and appreciate being able to rock the classic west coast heel on the jobsite.
As a father I can appreciate what you’re doing for your boy. This will carry over decades in to the future. Excellent work, Wranglestar. Your love is very obvious. Hats off and such a great way to break the broken awful tradition of fellas raised without a father who cares as much as you do here for your boy.
As a man who desires to be self-sufficient in life but without an experienced father, this sort of thing has helped me greatly. I watched your video from years ago in conditioning leather and got some of the heavy duty conditioner, cleaner, and a good horse hair brush like you recommended preciously and it has worked wonders on some of my old tired boots. Your passion for life, God, and being a good PROHO for your family has greatly inspired me. I'm only 22, but I'm a diesel mechanic and you've inspired me for years. God bless you and your family.
Searching for a video on how to care for my first pair of whites probably 15 years ago is what brought me to this channel. Love it!! Cody telling it how it is, always an added bonus!!
My dad ALWAYS had his boots squared away. One of the many fond memories i have of my dad was him teaching me to shine my shoes and boots the way he learned in the army. The thing about buying a good pair of boots is even if you pay to resole them etc it'll still probably be cheaper and with better quality leathers than what will be on the market in 5-10 years because companies sadly keep cutting corners on materials.
A Dad caring enough to do this for his older son is pretty amazing. My Dad taught me how to set up my own winter boots when i started to wear them. Mink oiled them up for us boys. He didn't have the time to do this for us, but he had enough time to get us started.
Thanks for sharing that, Nicholas. It's great to hear about your dad teaching you how to care for your boots. Those moments really stick with you. I'm glad I can do the same for Jack and show him the importance of taking care of his gear. It's all about passing down those skills and creating lasting memories. Cheers to good dads,
It was a joy to watch you lovingly restore your son's boots. My first thought was good grief! That's a big boy! 2nd was memories of early married days of my husb slow cooking his boots after cleaning & sealing with mink oil and the gentle smells of a slow roasted high dollar pair if boots. That was winter, Whites for timber work then overhead lineman. Them boots were nothing to joke about or mess with. My dearly departed dad went one step further in he made his own special blend of oils & cleaners and was a master craftsman leatherworker & metals of any type. He had his own forge growing up. He said if it from the earth...I can melt it. Bullets, guns, horseshoes, copper art etc. very cool man whose craft sadly passed with him. God bless him. Great video!
I had a chief on my first ship in the Navy who taught me how to care for my boots (I worked in the engine rooms, boots were necessary) and I continued to use that skill when I worked for the phone company. Like the chief who taught me, I passed on those skills to anyone I worked with that asked. Care for and protect your gear, so that when it is needed, that gear can care for and protect you. God Bless you and your family!
Cody, absolutely right about paracord laces. They are perfectly serviceable in a non-hazardous environment, but will melt in a heartbeat when exposed to high temperatures. Good call on the leather!
Thank you, Cody. I'm watching this while also cleaning and reconditioning my own work boots. Like all things in your life, if you take care of it, they will take care of you.
I spend the week before hunting season treating by boots for the opening day. It's a basic training in the service to care for issues boots, but when you own a nice pair, it makes it all the more special to keep them in good working order.
Couldn't agree with you more about the female vs. male comparison. One of the biggest reasons I subscribe and watch your content is the male-focused content. God Bless!
Why are you doing it? Love your answer. You must be very proud. My son is a cadet at my department and is very cool watching him eat this stuff up. My nicks are in need of some treatment. Thank you for the reminder!
Its hard to believe Jack is all grown up and going off to college. It reminds me to cherish the time I spend with my 4 year old son, time goes by so fast.

I have a few different natural brands, including Obenauf's. Maybe it's the smell and the tactile experience, but it's such a satisfying experience to clean and oil my boots. May God and His holy angels watch over and protect Jack in all of his adventures. Cheers.
Thanks for the support and loyalty over the years! I completely agree-there's something truly satisfying about taking care of your boots with quality products like Obenauf's. Your prayers for Jack mean a lot to us. May God and His holy angels watch over and protect you and your family as well. Cheers! 🙏👢,
Im a woman who enjoys watching you do manly things with your manly subscribers in a beautiful place. I've learned alot of helpful things for my homestead. You men are wonderful and I thank you and appreciate you all for who and what you are.
An old bookmaker years ago showed me a cool trick I still use to this day. On the last eyelet double the lace through the hole and when lacing a quick tug locks the laces in place and keep the lower half tight.
I love seeing you care for Jacks boots! He has become a fine young man, and watching him grow up through your camera has been a pleasure. Stay safe out there Jack
Papa Bear always protects his cubs! My dad made sure we knew how to take care of our boots. Didn't realize it at the time but as soon as I got to basic training I was the only one that knew how to polish boots. Just one of many things he made sure i was prepared for. Thanks for sharing and reminding me how much he taught me. Can't wait to see what's next.
One trick I was taught by a woodsman was to replace my boot laces with pull-start cord, like you'd use to replace the recoil starter cord on a chainsaw - because it's designed to resist the abrasion of the hole in the starter, it's incredibly hard wearing. No use for high temperature of course, but I thought it was a cool tip to pass on.
Excellent video. Made me remember I needed to clean and treat my boots. I've been wearing the USA made Redwings for years now. Unfortunately I found they are not making the logger or lineman style in soft toe any longer. So I had my local Redwing store find me a second pair and now have two pairs. One stays in the box till I need the other resoled. Then while one is being resoled I wear the other pair for the two or so years till they need resoled then switch again. Obenauf's is all I'll ever use on my boots. I plan on retiring in a few years and these two pairs of boots will last me the rest of my life.
Sounds like you have a solid system in place with your Redwings. It's a shame they're not making the logger or lineman style in soft toe anymore, but smart move getting a second pair. Obenauf's is fantastic-I agree, it really does wonders for the boots. Enjoy your well-earned retirement, and may those boots serve you well for many years to come! 👢🔧

Snow-seal is a good product, my granddad used it on his leather boots,
I'm not a Mormon nor can I support their heretical teaching, however, if you and I were neighbors, we would be good friends,
last part of the video was golden!
Cheers! 🙏👢,
CAn't believe how long I've been following you and your family, Cody. Jack's going to college, time flies!
Im a woman who enjoys watching you do manly things with your manly subscribers in a beautiful place. I've learned alot of helpful things for my homestead. You men are wonderful and I thank you and appreciate you all for who and what you are.
Imagine having a dad who cleans one's boots! Cody you are the best!
A man who wears a watch knows what time it is. A man who wears two watches is never quite sure.
Crazy jack is fighting fire now, I started watching this channel back in college for fire school. ❤
An old bookmaker years ago showed me a cool trick I still use to this day. On the last eyelet double the lace through the hole and when lacing a quick tug locks the laces in place and keep the lower half tight.
always the best videos , thank you so much
I can feel your Father's Love for your son through your service in this video ❤
Absolutely great post sir! Thank you for the knowledge as usual. Really like that personal touch with the last laugh for Jack.
I love seeing you care for Jacks boots! He has become a fine young man, and watching him grow up through your camera has been a pleasure.
Stay safe out there Jack
Thank you for setting people straight. I love the bluntness women you can watch but stay in your own lane. I love it.
It's so nice when you call us beloved! It feels like a letter from an Apostle, in the Bible.
Man, to be a dad applying his knowledge to maintain gear essential to his sons work and livelihood. Great stuff, I hope I get to feel that someday.
That last part of the video I just wanted to say amen brother
Last part of the video is so true and appreciated in a world where everything seems backwards as of the last 20 years.
This is how you know you produce quality entertainment, atching you polish boots was mesmerizing.
Man I dont know if youre the best but you will more than do till he gets here. Thanks alot sir
Came for the boots. Stayed for the message at the end. Totally agreed
Damn this made me cry It's been a long 14 years since my dad passed away I miss him being there so much
I'm sorry, beloved,
At least your dad was a good man. Be thankful.
I feel your pain, lost my dad about two years ago.
It's been fifty years and I still tear up, he was a good man.
14 years for me, too.
God bless you!
That’s a good Papa, helping out his son.
I hope to care and be proud of a son like this someday
Papa Bear always protects his cubs! My dad made sure we knew how to take care of our boots. Didn't realize it at the time but as soon as I got to basic training I was the only one that knew how to polish boots. Just one of many things he made sure i was prepared for. Thanks for sharing and reminding me how much he taught me. Can't wait to see what's next.
My dude said “stay in your lane” I love it, you are the man!
The love of the father, specifically for his son, can really be a subtle thing
15:18 Only real men will agree with this.
I’m pretty new but I have to say that I didn’t really get the “Beloved” thing at first… I get it now, and thanks, it’s meaningful.
Now everyday when he laces up he’ll think of you, that’s awesome!
Another banger of a message at the end there. Spot on.
You are such an amazing father for helping Jack with this.
God bless your son for being a firefighter hopefully stay safe I appreciate everything firefighters do
You tell em! Love that closing speech.
