I made one of these today and it works very well. I used what I had around for heat shrink, terminal, carabiner clip and only bought the poly rope to fit my ring terminal end. Used less than $1 worth of rope @ $4 for 38ft.
Nice work. A little trick that might add some insurance. Where it was sewn together put some plumbers PVC glue on it and the thread. Stuff bonds nylon rope. After letting it dry place shrink tube over it as in the video.
i am making a safety leash but i am using hollow core string called "samson zing it". it holds 400 pounds and you can splice it and when finished it will only be the string and no other materials. i have made whoopie slings for my hammock with amsteel and i will be using some of those same methods for making my safety leash
Great Project! Will you add a link to the ring terminal you use. having trouble finding one that works as well as the one you have. Thank You. Great Video!
+soarpix.com it's especially good as I shoot a lot of tractors an farm machinery which vibrate a lot and are always on rough terrain, months tend to come loose and fall off.
I keep a gopro attached to my helmet when I ride my motorcycle. If the 3M tape gives out this leash will keep my gopro from bouncing around the highway at 80+mph.

Awesome leashes these look much sturdier than previous ones.

Thanks!
Could you add a strong string like the first one to connect to the actual case
I assume so
Very nice leash for the GoPro. Thanks for posting this video......Take care, Bluefin.
+mustang774 Thanks! Glad you liked it! =)
Good idea.
Well done!
Thanks! =)
Will be doing this today since I almost lost my activeon camera while in water at least this will keep it more safer
Instead of sewing, maybe a figure-eight knob will do the job, too
Neat. I love hot pink 😁
GREAT!!! had everything lying around the house ! subbed!
Thanks!

Looks better than the original GoPro teather amazing
Thanks! =)
Hey man you need to run some of that sewing thread through some part of the small camera frame
excellent style
I'm sure that crimped on ring terminal is more than enough to secure a gopro, but 60kg? Wow. Anyways, thanks for the simple and straight forward DIY.
This is so cool, one of my super subscribers sent me here after i lost my gopro in the river in my last video 😅💯😎very good 👍🏽🤙🏾
Thanks! Glad you liked it =)
Nice video !!! I'm going to try it
+Lucas Povea Thanks!

Brilliant
Nice, but why not just a ring terminal at both ends? 🤔
It’s nice but, if the mount breaks, then bye bye camera.
what size Ø of ring need...
you use it to screw or in the black plastic
tnks
amazing
Smart !
Please could I buy one?!!!
2:18 Hey, you used the same footage from your DIY #6 video. That's "cheating", but smart. ;D Haha. Anyhow, great DIYs! Thank you!
Very observant! It's called recycling =)
Hahaha. True.
good but if the frame was broken you lose gopro another rope is better on the case
Såg att snöret var från Biltema! Förresten, har du använt en kabelsko till detta eller vad exakt är den där ringen för något?
+Philip Lifjorden
Hej Philip! Ja det är en kabelsko. =)
What size and type Of ring terminal?
+thebozman15
It's for 10mm² cable.
what size is the ring terminal
+mia vaida
It's for 10mm² cable.
Vet inte vad repet kostar på biltema men kan tipsa om att Rusta hade likadant rep som kostade typ 30 kr! :)
+Billie Hennig Hej Billie! Kostar samma (29:90) på Biltema, men tack för tipset! ;)
Where are you from?
I'm from Sweden =)
ok, jeg er fra Norge!
Hyggelig! =)
'Subbed
can I just buy one😂
This won't work. If the GoPro screw comes out then the leash won't be holding onto the GoPro at all so u will lose the gopro
yes but the chances of the likes of a mag mount falling off are much higher than the thumb screw coming out !

1:20.. ok.. geez dude, oh.. You don't have to.. Ugh, why.. Geeezz stop dude. God, Stop!
