Yah, the lore for this story has been all over the place. Like, intentionally vague for no reason. Incredibly frustrating as this is supposed to be the culmination from years of story telling.
This story is where they lost me. Realmbreaker and Wrenn can reach beyond time into "phased space" and breach it? Yeah no that's too big a plothole I can drive a truck through
The emotions are nice though, Wrenn did great
They teased it in one of the innistrad stories way back with Wrenn and Teferi getting trapped in a time loop. Wrenn was able to see/sense the “tangle” of time and taught Teferi how to do the same, fast forward to now, she’s able to do the same thing but on a grander scale due to realmbreaker as power
Time and space are two faces of the same coin. I don't think that one is superior to the other, being phased in time seems to be simply "in another location".
@@bluebird21111 The Wandering Emperor was also able to, somehow and briefly, reach Zhalfir, as seen in Teferi's story in was it last set? So they did seed the possibility to reach there
Remember villains: Never leave your enemies alive to gloat at them. It never ends well.
Caught 'em monologuing
This story is devoid of meaning. There is no deeper meaning or anything that make you connect. it is grandiose but lifeless, a great invasion with no meaning, invasion for villainy's sake and heroes heroing with no deeper meaning. Modern story telling all over again.
That's just magic the gathering my dude. They take major inspiration from J. R. R. Tolkien, not George R. R. Martin. If it's not your thing that's fair, but if you're expecting biting political commentary and deep introspective moral ethics, a card game targeted at 13+ is probably not it.
Unfortunately you're right. That's because they hire cheap writers cause they don't care about the story, they just want the money. Imagine what we could have with a real budget and time. Being an Avengers knockoff is fine.. But at least do it right.
@@DACnumber1 Actually, given that many of us spend hundreds or thousands of pounds on this game, it would not hurt to imbue the stories with more thoughtful content.
@@DACnumber1 I didn't expect much, but i at least expected a hero's journey out my hero driven story for 13+ card game. You know, when you write something to make your product better it should not make it worse.
@@pascalsimioli6777 It's not because they don't care for the story. It's because of corporate greed that removed the block system so they can push out products more rapidly. No matter how talented you are, it is extremely difficult to write a compelling narrative with genuine character growth when you are constantly being shifted into another plane with new characters and places that you now have to care about.
