This was an informative lecture Masha'Allah. I do have a question which I really wish Dr. Omar Suleiman can include in one of his lectures in the future. I don't want people to respond to me in the comments. I simply want this issue to be addressed by Dr. Suleiman in a bit of detail.
I do wonder why is it that Islam does not place as much value on the rights of children as it does on the rights of parents? I've struggled with understanding this. There are so many people like myself who were raised in extremely abusive homes by parents who blamed us for their personal conflicts. So many of us have been raised by physically and emotionally abusive parents who demand subservience from their kids who have to live with lifelong trauma because of their antipathy, callousness or emotional neglect. Why doesn't Islam support their rights? Why doesn't it make it clear that abusive parents will be held accountable for causing harm to their children? Why does Islam only protect the rights of parents even terrible ones and not condemn them for not valuing their kids as blessings of Allah? Why does the Muslim community tolerate parental abuse and consider it good parenting? My imaan as a Muslim is that Allah is always fair towards His creation. I'll always believe in that. Yet the suffering of people like myself is denied because it was inflicted by those who gave birth to us? Why is Islam not as emphatic on the rights of children who are the most vulnerable to abuse as it is on the rights of parents? Do our rights not matter? Again I don't want responses from the people here. It's something I would really appreciate being addressed by someone kind, empathetic and informed like Dr. Suleiman. Thank you.

Dr Omar has a way of making you listen to him and the impact his words has is always powerful. JazakAllah hukhairan kathira, brother. But I must say this particular sermon has got to be one of his best that I’ve heard.
A powerful reminder especially during this time when we live in, in Dr Omar’s words, this industry of influences.

Here's a quranic duaa for shukr that Sulayman 'alayhil salam :
فَتَبَسَّمَ ضَاحِكًۭا مِّن قَوْلِهَا وَقَال
*_رَبِّ أَوْزِعْنِىٓ أَنْ أَشْكُرَ نِعْمَتَكَ ٱلَّتِىٓ أَنْعَمْتَ عَلَىَّ وَعَلَىٰ وَٰلِدَىَّ وَأَنْ أَعْمَلَ صَـٰلِحًۭا تَرْضَىٰهُ وَأَدْخِلْنِى بِرَحْمَتِكَ فِى عِبَادِكَ ٱلصَّـٰلِحِينَ_*
(٢٧:١٩ Quran )
Here's the whole verse ( Quran 27:19 ),and the duaa is in cursive it starts with Rabbi awziعni .

I thank Allah that the management of Yaqeen might have seen my suggestions and request all along that she was a total destruction towards the male viewers. It seemed like she was the one giving sermon due to her vigorous actions, shaking of her body, smiling and all alike and if you add on that her beauty plus being placed in the infront of the mimbar for sure there was no concentration at all

If dumb respected persons are needed to be catered for then a male sign instructor should be placed infront of men's side and the female sign instructor be placed infront of the female's side where they pray from such that men are not viewing the female translator. That's our beautiful religion which cuts all paths of Satan to lure people into fornication in the long run
@@fofsnaaminatfatima9069 I understand my sister. I also know that she was there to interpret for those who can't hear but everything must be done as in accordance to Islamic regulations. Do you believe that her shaking of the body and beautiful smiles were not diverting away the attention of those who could hear like me and others???
Do you think it was only those who don't hear who were looking at her actions?? To your surprise she might have been being viewed by only those who hear or majority of us who didn't understand even the sign interpretation. Islam is Islam and no one can change its principles. A woman is not allowed to stand in front of male worshippers just because there are some people who need sign language. If sign interpretation is much needed then the management should get a male sign interpreter to be in the background infront of fellow male worshippers
