    Im a christian. But i agree with this philosopher. Philosophical reasoning has a limit. It cannot be compared to spiritual experience and it should be applied within the framework of divinity.

    “Over-reliance on reason.” He has nailed it! I was aversed to philosophical learning coz i saw it as a threat to complete trust in the divine as a Christian, but now i see the coherence. We should rely on reason but not ‘over-rely’! 😮. Surely, there is an infinite power unlimited by reason and that is God. I understand.

      This is the problem I had with the catholic church. An overreliance on human reason, even so much that my local priests talk more about Aquinas in their sermons than Jesus. These same arguments for and against using reason as the ultimate way to understand god existed between the Catholic and Orthodox churches. Gregory Palamas vs. Aquinas.

    Fundamental religious principles are incompatible with reason. Also, why do people keep claiming that they know the “reality of God” because they read writings of people who did not even know that the earth went around the sun?

      He is not against philosophy in the sense of thinking and giving opinion( what you said reverse engineering) he is against opinion/doctrine from the philosopher that against Islam
