Nice work my friend, I am currently doing the same job. Accectly the same. Only thing is I would not put spark plugs and injector coils, first start to check oil pressure and get the oil everywhere! Important before initial start Good luck
Well i just had to do the sump off job again because i saw from your video that the oil pump was timed up 180 degrees different! So very glad i found these before i fired her up! Aldo now toying with idea of removing vacum pump to give that a flush through like you did. Thats if i can get at it now easily with engine been back in. Sooner do it to remove any crud after what i saw come out of yours. My filter wasnt bust though so might be fine anyway but if i can get to it im pulling it. 👍
You mean the balance shaft timing right? Make sure you check the powder coat is not flaking off as this causes oil pump control valve to stick. Awesome video mate 👍👍
Top video BimmerZen! I can see many similarities with the N46 engine, but not the same. It has beena year and half since fixing the valve stem seals on my N46 with your 3d printed tools and everything is still working fine! Wish I had the new 0,6nm tool, my mind blew seeing that! As I promised, the video of replacing the valve stem seals with your tool is in editing process right now, and it will be released in week or two, I"ll meniton you and review the tool. Keep an eye on my channel for the video 👀
Awesome work man. Im really stressing now because i have a feeling i installed the oil pump wuth the vanes the other way. Ibused the locking tool but 180 degrees difference. I cant 100% remember. Im gonna have to peep through tbe sump if i can see but i think the oickuos gonna cover it. If only i had videod it like you 🙂 oh crap if its 180 different am i going to have to pull it back out? Thats a kick to the nuts if so. Also didnt flush out the vacuum like you did. I didnt have nesty oil like you as filter ok. Heez hope im bot going to gave to pull it again. Plus ive done the crank bolt now too. 🤢
Hmm just looked at janis video that i used at the time (he did an n43 rebuild too) and his is oriented same as you so maybe i did it right. There is a small gap in pickup case that you can see tbe balance shafts though - will have to get torch in to see if i can double check. Fingers crossed.
Should the Crank hub be lightly oiled by installation to the seal ? Any leaks, yet ? Some say it wont be proper sealed without the fancy used BMW loctied with primer.. thanks
Full rebuild kit would be best, otherwise buy kits from elring (gaskets, head bolts), swag (chain kit), febi bilstein, ... oem bmw conrod and oil housing bolts...

I mean spark plug coils, 😅
Dziękuję za filmy z N43! Dzieki nim tez składam swoją N43!
if I didn't need a working N43 in my e92, it would be stripped already! amazing work! I'm a mechanic wannabe because of you
Great work 👍👍I've just started stripping my N43, alot of work,,,,,,,,,,
You sir just received a new subscriber. Man the detailed step by step guide is awesome!
There was no reason for me watching this video, i don't even have a N Engine. But the video was very educational and well explained!
Thanks!
Just recieved the 0.6Nm tool, much appreciated 👍👍👍👍👍👍

@@allmech_BMW_fault_finding yes balance shaft on the oil pump.
Very well done as usual 👏 this engine should run like new

One can also use a 9V block battery to actuate the (Vanos) solenoids if somebody doesn't have a power supply handy.

Jeg fant ikke hvordan jeg skulle justere veivakselen med kamakselen. Takk!
For the n53 cams there are teflon seal rings as change for later models, i guess they should fit the n43 cams too.. (Rectangring)
Thank you ! Good job !!!
great work. just wondering why didnt you build the head with the cams and everything first?
No particular reason... :)
Just ordered the 0.6Nm torque tool 👍👍👍👍

Always👍
Yes, light coat of oil. I haven't had any issues so far. I always used normal RTV silicone, same as for the valve cover gasket.
What about the teeth’s on the vanos units should they be replaced as well like the crank sprocket? Thanks
Usually not necessary. They spin at half the speed of the main sprocket thus half the wear.
Can't find the caps for the fuel lines in your store, can you send me the link please
How much money did you invest in the engine?

@@BimmerZen thanks
Delade du den nya kedjan eller var den delad från fabrik?
Tredje parts kedjor kommer stängda. Endast BMW original kedjan kommer öppen från vad jag sett.
@BimmerZen Do you know what material the screws are made of?
Which screws do you mean?
@@BimmerZen The ones that screw the cylinder head to the block.
@@pitu93 I'm not 100% sure but most probably 10.9 or 12.9 tensile/yield grade. They must be replaced.
