$25 is not a deal breaker for me. I've used a TEC clip on my Pioneer for the last 3 years and it works fine. I love collecting knives and EDC gadgets. I think a black SwissQlip on a black Alox Pinoeer would look pretty sweet. $33 for the knife and $25 for the SwissQlip is still cheaper most of the knives in my collection. Thanks for the review. I didn't even know this thing existed!
I carry a Tinker every single day! I hang mine from a small pocket clip that attaches to the split ring. I also have a small thrunite Ti3 attached to the same dangler clip, and I have found that this combination accomplishes 95% of the everyday tasks that I deal with. I think that the dangler clip is more practical for me because I can unclip it to use the knife if I want to.
I preordered 3 of these when they were in the funding phase. I should get them momentarily but I just heard that, as not all victorinox 9.1 cm have the same keyring tab, the clip will not fit certain knives such as the compact. The company is trying to find a solution... the compact was one of the knives I intended to put the clip on. The other ones are super tinkers and these will work just fine. Can’t wait to get the clips.
Thanks for showing that clip. I have been using a Victorinox Compact for 3 years and just bought a Minichamp Alox. In my case the Compact is reduced to the max. Perfect for me.
My dad's friend and I were literally talking about Swiss army knives and how he wanted one as I opened my TH-cam and found this video. Great timing Jeff I might have to pick one of these up😂 have a good Christmas
Cool item. Although I find that the knifves are more secure in my pocket. The clip often gets snagged on things and pulls out, not to mention accidentally scratching things when I walk by. I’ve had a Victorinox Rambler on my keys for years, usually have an Explorer in my pocket.
You can use the other end of the toothpick to hook out the tweezers if you don't want to mess up the toothpick tip. Just catch the tweezers with the same bit of the toothpick that you catch with your nail to get the toothpick out.
TUZU especially if you have over 20 SAKs that you rotate around in your edc. Either you have to get several of these clips or you have to go through the hassle of moving the clip from knife to knife everyday. That why I just put a paper clip on my SAK key ring and use that for a pocket clip. It’s cheap, easy, and I can put one on every knife if I want to lol :)
@@toddguillory692 it’s kinda hard to explain, but I run the SAK key ring through the inside of the paper clip, then I use pliers to bend the outside prong of the paper clip straight upwards (parallel with the paper clips), then when I put the SAK into my pocket, I hold the, now rounded end of the paper clip and let that catch on the outside of my pocket. Like I said, hard to explain, but a simple and cheap concept. I left this comment about a year ago, but to this day I’m still using the paper clip lol. Good luck friend.
I learned something new today. what the hook tool is originally used for holding twine of a stack of news paper. That makes since they did use a lot of twine and paper back in the day's before plastic bag and other plastics.
I got mine for $16. Totally worth it imo for my Spartan PS. Makes it so much better to carry. I haven't had an instance when it's slipped out of my pocket yet, but I know others have experienced that.
I have the Camper model, I’ve used it for years. Great knife and this is a really great idea many years to late. Also the price , WOW , Ridiculous! that’s what I paid for the camping model knife. I can see $10 bucks but $25.00 dollars , no thanks !
I do edc a SAK: around town or day hikes I use the Explorer Plus; on outdoor adventures I carry a Ranger Plus with fire starter rod in the tweezer holder. I like those pocket sized ones and even a few 111 mm like the Hunter, Helmsman (on the water) or Locksmith if I need to build shelters and things.
I just received the quikclip and I put it on my Camper. No problems there. I still believe that a better knife is the real answer. The Boker tech tools are better than the SAKs, they come with a pocket clip, and are only about $10 more than equivalent SAKs. Also, the pocket clip is reversible.
Not sure if anyone else has experienced this but I got a swissqlip for my tinker and it’s awesome but whenever I use the bottle opener/flat head it kicks the ring the clip is attached to out and I’ve found it’s digging in to the scales. I don’t care because I assume over time it’ll channel itself enough to not hang up but it makes taking the bottle opener out really hard at times.
I just had the same exact experience with my SuperTinker. The bottle opener / FlatHead screwdriver was not opening up well at all and it’s exactly as you described kicking up the other tools and I noticed it also twists the clip from side to side and it dug into my plastic scales and took a small chunk out. So I removed the screw too take a look 👀 at it and then I thought just would reattach it and when I did the Screw snapped in half and the thread side was stuck into the hole 🕳️ on the clip. The clip does not seem too lineup straight and the key ring hole and clip are at an angle 📐 so I believe that’s why the screw snapped, it is a tiny screw for flat head screw for sure. Which is another dumb idea by the manufacturer. At least do a Torx screw or Allen instead of a flathead. Regardless this clip did not fit well on the Super Tinker. I chose a refund instead of a Replacement. Maybe it works better in other models but with the Super Tinker it stunk. O well, Good idea, bad execution. I’ll stick with suspension clips or just let ride in a picket like usual.
Yeah ..I bought one for Christmas and put it on a climber SAK...made it awkward and heavier with a hotspot from hell..was hoping it was going to be great..no..I just went back to putting a nano clip on my ring and using that as my pocket clip.
Seems like a really well made product but I’ve been using paper clip through the key ring as my pocket clip on most all my SAKs for a few years now and it works just great, but thanks for the info friend:)
I EDC a Boker Tech Tool 8, mainly for the pocket clip, but as it doesn't have the tools I use daily so I pair it with a Leatherman Style PS. But I recently bought a Super Tinker as it has all the tools I use most. No clip but I attached a dangler pocket clip from eBay, which works great
To expensive and to awkward. Just use a cheap money clip or a suitable clip from a old knife and JB weld it or weld it on the knife. Correctly placed the clip will not be in the way for any function. Works perfectly. But, I prefer a short paracord string double looped through the keyring. In that way it's very easy to get hold of the knife and fish it out of your pocket. The string, hold and wrapped between your fingers, also prevents the knife to be dropped and/ or lost.
I use the victorinox recruit for my fishing knife and the hiker for hiking. The pocket clip is cool but my SAK hiker is in a necklace carry or in the hip belt pocket of my pack.
I carry the alox mini champ. I have a sparten & a wegner teton. But i find they get very filled up with pocket trash so i carry them in a bag. Cool vid jeff
Also needs to be mentioned... this clip only fits newer 91mm SAKs with the keyring nub right next to the front scale. Those SAKs that are older, with the keyring nub located more towards the back scale, the clip will not work with those.
Finally! Just wish Victorinox would make an official one. And maybe in different colors. Also why don’t they make a one handed opener in this style and size? Been wanting one of those for ages.

I got mine thru Indiegogo. The idea was great, the execution by the company was poor. They switched from torx to Philip's, and were supposed to send a driver and didn't. Numerous setbacks with "customs". Still, a good idea for thinner models. I put mine in a swiss champ, but not for pocket carry. Works well. Merry Christmas Col.!
Great video. I who's waiting on reviews on the clip and you are the first that I saw. I saw the same problems on there indigogo founding page. You are truly the best and you proved me once again why I watch all of your videos for last 10+years. I wish you and your family a very happy Merry Christmas 😄
A clip for your SAK.... Oh, like a Tec Accessories P-7 Suspension clip that is small, unobtrusive, doesn't do anything to make an already thick SAK even thicker, is lower-profile, doesn't obstruct access to any tools on your SAK, and costs less than half the price of the SwissQlip. And is also available in all-black. Plus you can use it on other items that come with a split-ring attachment. Yeah, those have been available for years, at least over a decade. Sure the owner of Tec Accessories behaved like an obnoxious, pompous, arrogant jerk that one time I met and spoke with him years ago. Doesn't change the fact that his product works.
It's very cool, but do u know if they will ever make them for bigger size Victorinox knives? I was looking for something like this for my Victorinox Rangergrip? By the way, why don't u film in 1080p with better light, your video's look from the early 2010's!
I carry the Compact on a Keysmart pocket clip. Been carrying it like that for almost two years and very pleased. However, I'm always trying new things to see if there's a better solution to my EDC. This clip seems really interesting and I want to try it. I also carry the Evolution 14. Don't care one way or the other about the grip/shape of the scales but like the tool layout. Wonder if this clip would work with it...
Now that Vitorinox and Wenger are now owned by one company, do you know if these clips will also fit Wengers? I own both brands but tend to favour the Wenger due to the way the scissors are made. All the best for the holidays and regards from Canada.
I will do with out that. I carry mine in my pocket. Have been doing that for fifty years now no sense in charging now. I like to change knives depends on what I do that day. Most of the time I use my Leatherman .
Merry Christmas Jeff! I won’t buy the clip. It’s a cool idea but I edc a tinker in my back pocket by my wallet and a Kershaw cqc 11 in d2 for my main blade. It’s a great knife you should try it out! Thanks for another video!
I as a habit of about 35 years, don't carry anything else in my right hand bib overall pocket, and that is where I carry my knife, it is an interesting little gadget though, and I'll probably buy one, just because it's there, it might be handy, i don't want to discount it, until I see one in person,,
I have multiple SAK for various reasons. I carried the Huntsman in my pack during The Gulf War. But, I've EDC the Victorinox Executive for over 30 years. Still have the same one today!
Try carrying a Benchmade 940, Vic tinker, zippo, Fenix light, Tactile Turn pen, wallet, Case medium jack, a loupe, a Taurus G2C and holster, wallet, phone, and a pair of sunglasses in your pockets lmfao! I require cargo pants and everything except the clipped items and the sidearm get sideways constantly.
whatmakesittick you’re winning this round , just wish I could carry the Taurus, the Super Tinker is pushing it here in Australia, I carry a copy of the Queensland weapons Act, it specifies that “A Swiss Army Knife May be carried for the utility of it”, but most people don’t know anything and freak out when I pull it out, usually to fix their broken crap.
@@xgford94 That's sad. Australia used to be the "wild west" of the world, with freedoms and self-reliant attitudes to match! Your government needs reform. People need to speak up and VOTE the bastards out!
Jeff Tried this on a few models I noticed it binds opening the flat blade driver/ bottle opener. The key ring is part of the spring that tensions that blade and it seems to bind it slightly. Your thoughts?
I was thinking a set of replacement scales with a built in clip would be even better. I found someone who sells them on etsy and it turns out they're even more $$$$ than this and the clip looks cheap. Granted, the scales look great. Idea 10/10 Execution 4/10 Is it $25 cool? not on a $30 knife. I'll keep it in my pocket.
I always carry a tinker model. This clip, although useful, is too expensive and way too bulky for me to buy. This said from a guy who bought titanium Swissbianco scales for my tinker for $50....
Now the clip is $20.00, but I would still rather use a nylon belt pouch for $14.00. www.victorinox.com/us/en/Products/Swiss-Army-Knives/Accessories/Nylon-Belt-Pouch/p/4.0548.3
removable is nice, but blocking tools is not. you'd rely on the toothpick or a shim to access the tool is not my thing. for less than the price of one of these I've stuck 2 Nite-Ize (non-removable, looser) clips on two of my SAK's, so I probably won't get this.
In case I cant reply to everyone who mentions is I hope everyone who celebrates it has a very Merry Christmas!
cutlerylover Merry Christmas to you too Jeff!
cutlerylover same to you
Same too you Jeff
Merry Christmas Jeff & Your Family! Blessings!!
It would be nice if someone would make a steal toothpick to switch out the plastic one.
This looks like a good option for the Alox models like the Pioneer or Farmer. They don’t have tweezers, toothpicks, or tools on the back anyway.

I very often carry a Cadet or Pioneer ALOX with one of those TEC Accessories P-7 suspension clips.

Try carrying a Benchmade 940, Vic tinker, zippo, Fenix light, Tactile Turn pen, wallet, Case medium jack, a loupe, a Taurus G2C and holster, wallet, phone, and a pair of sunglasses in your pockets lmfao! I require cargo pants and everything except the clipped items and the sidearm get sideways constantly.
whatmakesittick you’re winning this round , just wish I could carry the Taurus, the Super Tinker is pushing it here in Australia, I carry a copy of the Queensland weapons Act, it specifies that “A Swiss Army Knife May be carried for the utility of it”, but most
people don’t know anything and freak out when I pull it out, usually to fix their broken crap.
@@xgford94 That's sad. Australia used to be the "wild west" of the world, with freedoms and self-reliant attitudes to match! Your government needs reform. People need to speak up and VOTE the bastards out!
Yep,..it’s about time...eh? Thanks Mr Lover.
Jeff
Tried this on a few models
I noticed it binds opening the flat blade driver/ bottle opener. The key ring is part of the spring that tensions that blade and it seems to bind it slightly. Your thoughts?
A novel idea but I prefer the suspension clips.
Would rather get a Swiss army style pocket knife that comes with a clip as is. Ruike made some of those.
Something like this for the 58mm versions?
I have the super tinker and tinker
I was thinking a set of replacement scales with a built in clip would be even better. I found someone who sells them on etsy and it turns out they're even more $$$$ than this and the clip looks cheap. Granted, the scales look great.
Idea 10/10
Execution 4/10
Is it $25 cool? not on a $30 knife. I'll keep it in my pocket.
An answer to a almost nonexistent problem that was solved by the little T7(?) hook
Great video
Is the clip plastic or metal?
metal
I always carry a tinker model. This clip, although useful, is too expensive and way too bulky for me to buy. This said from a guy who bought titanium Swissbianco scales for my tinker for $50....
That seems super big and over built for the knife. Doesn't need to be that wide at the top. Kinda bulky
I like this, think I will get one...
Would this fit an alox?
If it were cheaper I would buy a bunch.
Now the clip is $20.00, but I would still rather use a nylon belt pouch for $14.00.

Hey Jeff. Would you say it could work with alox models?
nope those scales are way thinner so yes you can add it on there but it would sit off the knife a bit and not work as well
removable is nice, but blocking tools is not. you'd rely on the toothpick or a shim to access the tool is not my thing. for less than the price of one of these I've stuck 2 Nite-Ize (non-removable, looser) clips on two of my SAK's, so I probably won't get this.
i use the tinker deluxe
