    I like them. They don’t work all that well for the larger SAKs, but for anything smaller or up to a Huntsman, I think they are attractive and useful. I use danglers for my larger knives and they work great.

    @Waterlander 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Just use the hooked backend of the toothpick and tweezers for pulling. This also works fine on nailnicks hard pull.
    If you upgrade to Plus scales then the multi purpose hook can be used to slide the ballpen under for writing.

    Growing up, a short lanyard attached to the split or a bale, hung out of a boy's pocket, kept the knife up and easy to grab. Victorinox also sells danglers. And boys used to make those out of big paper clips.
    This clip is clever, looks well-made. However it is for post tactical knife-must-have-clip generations.
    In fact a Victorinox with a clip is awkward, and doesn't feel right, or serve any purpose. As anyone's preference, yes, no criticism whatsoever. I most usually carry a Huntsman, or a Ranger. Too thick for that kind of carry. Into my belt pouch they go.
    Hiking brush country, clip folders are at high risk of working up with each right leg high step. And being caught on woody shrubbery. Most hikers I know take clips off or have an easy access pocket on their rucksack. Or, use a belt sheath.
    Still, clever engineering and I suppose ok for those want a clip on light but chunky pocket knife.
    Good for clipping onto a car visor maybe.
    Thanks!

    Interesting product but I think I prefer just attaching a suspension clip to the keyring to hang the knife in my pocket. I do use the hook on some models, because you can put the ink pen under it to make the knife handle the pen handle. That said, I have a lot of Swiss Army Knives so I may try this out sometime anyway.

    They (or some company) should make a replaceable scale, that has a pocket hook on it, and a flashlight using a 2032 battery. Now any knife can get a legit upgrade, that in 30 seconds you can restore to stock configuration.

    Much better and cheaper solution is to get a pocket clip with a hole at the end for a ring. Then feed that into the lanyard loop on the Victorinox. The pocket clip keeps it oriented vertically and no loss of access to any of the tools. Much cheaper also.

    Having a pocket clip is a must for me on my EDC. I got a Victorinox Alox Pioneer for Christmas. Unfortunately this style doesn’t work for that knife, so I got an adhesive Nite Ize HipClip for it.
    So far, so good.

    • @CircuitsAndStrings

    The Swissqlip does not normally ship with the screwdriver you received, it does not work with any Alox SAK. The clip is good overall even with the drawbacks. I just wish we could install a pocket clip straight onto the plastic scales ad save the extra bulk

  • @jungroe
    @jungroe 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    I personally find the pocket clip ruins the aesthetics of a Swiss Army knife and perhaps the reason why Victorinox does not offer a pocket clip option in it's 100+ year history. Maybe on the Swiss Tool with the industrial Leatherman ergonomics it's OK, but not on a pocket knife. I guess it comes down to preference.

      One in the pocket...one in the pack.
      But most of the time it hangs around my neck.
      I do a lot of cordage...string and rope clean up.
      And I have to undo alot of Knott's.
      Corkscrew works wonders....
      I had to get a bigger corkscrew and tether it to my Fieldmaster.
      So I can dig out knots.
      And not ruin my Huntsman.

    I found a clear 3M hook at work, which I use for the same purpose. Substantially cheaper (even if I did pay for it, which I didn't :p), and actually gives the knife a more contoured handle grip during use. Easy to remove, with just a little adhesive to clean.

    • @txtoolcrib

    • @OutsideTheTargetDemographic
      @OutsideTheTargetDemographic 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@txtoolcrib I just added the sticker hook to the rest of my SAKs minutes ago. It works very well. What I like is you can stick it any way you want, giving you a high/low pocket carry, and you can either put it on the scale or the spine, depending on the thickness of your SAK. If you have a means for me to send you pictures, I'm willing to.

    A really great idea for those who carry 4-layer or thicker SAK's. I don't carry anything thicker than 3 layers, so this would be useless to me.. I'm carrying a Super Tinker at the moment and I barely know it's there.
