    Great production values! Good job! Most TH-cam videos suck, because some dummy turns on the camera with no forethought, talks blah blah blah forever without getting to the point, leaves the camera running with no edits, and never zooms in so I can see what they're talking about. This video is very well done! Thanks for thinking it out, editing out the dead air and mistakes, adding overlay text and zooming in so we can see what you're doing. I wish all videos were like this one.

    Hey man dont goose the throttle like that with it on the muffs. If you are addicted to that sound and must do it, just raise the cam on the carburetor linkage by hand so that the timing base doesnt advance the timing. Those louder exhaust noises you're hearing are from preignition from the timing being advanced without backpressure. On the water, as the exhaust cant escape as fast because of the backpressure the water provides, timing advance is required to help the engine gain rpms. On the muffs with no backpressure, timing advance causes preignition which is horrendously bad for a 2 stroke motor.

      I honestly thought it sounded like rev-limiter if the prop cavitates or gets free from the water. But I don't know, I smoke a lot of weed.

    I've never used a spray nozzle to connect to my muffs. That's weird. Just connect the regular hose to your muffs. The spray nozzle is unnecessary.

    • @Bansheeboat
      @Bansheeboat  4 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      Bipedal Hominid I use the spray nozzle as a valve when I turn the water on at the source which for me is on the other side of a fence, I can operate the valve to turn off the water in my hand rather than at the hose faucet. In case I don’t want to walk all the way back to the facet every time I want to turn it on or off.

    Great channel. I have a near identical Bashee mkII but with a 115. It's not as nice condition as yours though. I have a question, some guys say not to rev it too high with the muffs, and some guys say it's no as problem to run it wide open as long as it's getting sufficient cooling because the prop isn't in the water it's under under no load. Your opinion? Keep up the great channel, glad I found it.

    • @Bansheeboat
      @Bansheeboat  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I agree with the cooling and I think it will be ok but I still wouldn't risk it maybe theres less exhaust pressure Im not sure. But I definitely had to try once! haha

    Doesn't the prop have to be up?

  • @neilrainford1884
    @neilrainford1884 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Might be a good idea to note that the engine shouldn’t be accelerated on the muffs up to the rev limiter as it is hard on the cold pistons and cylinder walls to run fast without load.

    How long does it usually take for water to start coming out,is 10 to 15 sec average..

    • @Bansheeboat
      @Bansheeboat  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Tonytoneton 2pac yah could be 10 seconds if it’s right empty but make sure it’s a strong stream. The impeller kits are not hard to do and could save you some money down the road. Also it may not be as good on the hose might be better flow while boat is in the water.

    • @ryanith2
      @ryanith2 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Youre techincally correct it doesn't "choke" it by restricting airflow to the cylinder, but it causes extra gas to flood into the intake manifold behind the carburetor, giving the same rich mixture as a choke does, just in a higher volume and the increased volume of mixture into the cylinder is why they went to the primer.

    there is no need for the spray gun. the motor naturally sucks up the water it needs and the excessive force might actually be doing more harm than good
