I have yet to see Ralph in person but online he's a beast.. I grew up watching GL and he was funny then.. I saw him a few years ago in person in LA and it was honestly a waste of money.. he had some laughs but it just wasn't the same.
George Lopez maybe had a plan all along. He honestly put Ralph's name in alot of peoples mouth after the shade and they both got buzz about it. These people live on buzz negative or positive. Something to think about.
I’m glad you mentioned Carlos at the end there because he was actually threatened backstage by George Lopez for stealing his shit. Barbosa is very funny and he makes a good point. that the Mexican comedians don’t always treat each other right. My favorite Mexican comedian is Paul Rodriguez, and just recently, I’m watching George Lopez talk about how much he dislikes, Paul Rodriguez for something. By the way, I’m talking about the comedian Paul Rodriguez, and not his son the skateboarder.
Yo fun fact Paul grew up the next town over from me in orange cove. 😂 his dad Paul Sr. Build the town a bad ass skateboard park and Paul the skateboarder was bad ass at skating. I mean that really has nothing to do with the video but I just thought that was pretty cool😂
I love George man i grew up as a kid watching him and I love the Mexican community but after watching that interview I lost all respect for him. If he says “he didn’t know him” Then why would you disrespect someone you don’t know ? He’s really hating on his come up. much respect to anyone who’s just trying to make it doing what they love
it's because Barbosa is not really funny. He's not that funny, sure he's clever and could get better, but he's just really not that funny. At least not yet. So it was either 2 ways Lopez could of dealt with it, he could of said what he really thought which is Barbosa isn't funny or just act like he doesn't know who Barbosa is. Now which one of these seemed less brutal?? I think George Lopez should of been brutally honest and said Barbosa isn't funny. But all you cancel culture pussies would of attacked Lopez either way just like the way you are acting right now, so Lopez just acted like he doesn't know who he is. That was George being nice.
I believe it has a lot to do with how the comic scene was back in there time. (Crabs in a bucket) I THINK Dave Chapelle mentions this and how older comics are bitter about how easy it is for comics nowadays vs the trenches THEY had to go through. Not right but definitely insightful.
Fun fact (yes I grew up with crabs, crabbing, crabs in buckets) Crabs are NOT 'pulling each other down'. They are pulling themselves out of the bucket. This is how they move and escape as a massive team that chain-links like that.
The story goes, "A young man saw an old man was crabbing and he had three baskets to store the crabs in. Two of the baskets had lids but one did not. Curious the young man asked why the two had lids. The old man said that the crabs help each other to the top and pull each other out to the last crab. So why does that basket have no lid the young man asked. Well those are Mexican crabs and they all pull each other down.
I remember in the 90s and early 2000s, George Lopez was considered a new generation of Latino comics, he wasn't young young like Ralph Barbosa, like a 20s guy. But back then Lopez was in his 30s or at the oldest 40, which was younger than Cheech Marin or Paul Rodriguez, the previous OG Latino comics that ruled the 70s, 80s, and first half of the 90s
Ralph is a great comic, his dry humor and delivery hits perfect. He doesn’t need to be over animated he’s just naturally funny and the last thing he needs is an endorsement from George Lopez
@@MuchoNoBueno he does comedy for white people and has humor like a white boy. you know we not fkn with that… you white washed hispanics fk with em though that’s all that matters
George Lopez is One of the Best (If not the Best) Mexican Hispanic/Latino Comedians out there, Everybody Loves him, We Continue Supporting and Laughing at his Work, the only People that talk about him are the Haters. George Lopez did not Disrespect Barbosa, he was just Speaking in General, Barbosa spoke about it and understood the Situation... 🤦♂️
I watched his Netflix show last night and I thought that it was very ingenious comedy. The whole skit about his girl was just really really great. He definitely has chops and that kind of comedy. That is so relatable to everybody is the type of comedy that’s going to endure for decades
Good for George. Maybe the "viejo" DNA was kicking in and just got the best of him or he was just having a bad day. Never under estimate the power of an apology.
George, I rooted for you when you were a Rockie comic, why the bad blood for Barbosa: what’s up with that, you remind me of the old saying about how us Latinos are like a bucket of crabs, one almost makes it out of the bucket and the others pull him back in; but other guys ( crabs) will push their brother out into the world to succeed, then maybe he will come back and rescue the rest of them. I’m not very proud of you right now George Lopez!
I never liked George Lopez for not welcoming and inviting Ralph to the game of Comedy.!!!.. It took Sandra Bullock to welcome him and Helped him get started in his career and made him become famous.!. Congratulations 🎉. To your Great success in the future.!.😎🙏🏽😇🎉👍
Respect to Lopez for calling him and apologizing. Not everyone, especially among the rich and famous, would have the insight to realize they made a mistake and acted poorly
Ralph is hilarious as hell, and as a fellow Texan I can relate to his comedy so much more. I'm with the guy that hopes nothing but great things for him.
"I had it hard I want the next generation to have it easy" that's how you make that one saying come true. "hard times make hard men, hard men make easy times, easy times make soft men and soft men make hard times" if you wanna live in hard times you make things easy for the next gen
Joe commented on the recent episode with Bert about comedians who hate on the new guys……but he seems to forget about the time Dave Chappelle essentially scoffed at Schulz’s comedy style on his Netflix show.
Bc Dave knows Shultz is a phony. He just gets by off crowd work, he’s a rich ass kid who’s been backed by his dads money, he was always gonna make it some how. That’s why Dave don’t fuck with him
To be fair I just found out about Ralph. A lot of celebrities really don’t be keeping up with current up and coming artist in their craft category. But it did seem like Lopez was doing to much
GL isn't hating on Ralph personally he just doesn't pay attention to every comedy sensation on TH-cam he's old and still funny ppl are so damn sensitive today.
I think the reaction is more about his pettiness in this instance. Even George himself understands that he didn't have to belittle him like that and apologized to him. You're right about him being old school though. His generation really had to struggle against each other to make it so its easy to see why his immediate reaction to someone bringing up another comic's success is to downplay it.
No bro no, we Mexicans instinctively make it where we want, but another Mexican can’t. That’s why we fled from our own rottenness in Mexico, just that no one admits it, and we say VIVA LA RAZA!!!
I've known about Ralph Barbosa probably a year and he's made me laugh way more than the 25 years I knew about George Lopez dammmm George has no class WOW!!!!
You only figured that out now?? That was his schtick: who cares about finesse or showing a little class - he got his laughs (not mine really) from being crude.
I'm 26 a first generation mexican American I never really found george lopez funny tbh even tho i understood and could relate to his jokes he wasn't all that funny
I think since George Lopez was the first really really mainstream Latino comic, he doesn't want competition, he wants to be the only Latino comic in America. Now I remember there were Latino comics before George Lopez when I was growing up in the 80s and 90s. Cheech Marin and Paul Rodriguez immediately come to mind, and although Cheech found some success in movies back in the 70s and 80s, he never had a TV show like George Lopez. Paul Rodriguez was really funny, that guy was making jokes in 1987 or 1991 about Taco Bell that Latino comics today still make, I wish Paul Rodriguez had been more successful.
The way he said, "why do you keep saying his name?"Just made it obvious he knew who he was but was sick of hearing about him.
I'm thinking a lot of people in George's circle were probably comparing Ralph to George repeatedly and he probably got tired of hearing it. I never think it was about disrespecting or putting Ralph down in any way.

Understood who you meant, and he's great, I being Latino like Latino comics, cause I can relate
Ralph looks like he's always high, and he looks like my padrino.
I just started getting Barbosa in my feed, he’s definitely this next generation of hilarious with Gillis and such.
How joe rogan treats other comics and how George Lopez treats other comics says alot
Lopes did his History!! Let Ralph be the NEXT!!! We don’t last forever!!!
Facts
Ya...I don't laugh at the same shit I did when I was a kid....child...
Solid analysis delivered in a measured and articulate way.
George seems insecure and threatened by other Mexican comics
I believe it has a lot to do with how the comic scene was back in there time. (Crabs in a bucket) I THINK Dave Chapelle mentions this and how older comics are bitter about how easy it is for comics nowadays vs the trenches THEY had to go through.
Not right but definitely insightful.
😂 This comment made me laugh for a long time and I'm not exactly sure why 👍
If all the old school comedians had Ralph's back from the start he'd be called an industry plant.
People do that too when drowning, lifeguards have to really watch out for that
I never once said man I gotta watch that George Lopez special 😂😂
Ralph was mentioned on the JRE w/ Bert Kreischer👏🏾i hope the lil homie gets huge
I like your show and your take on things. Just subscribed.
Cool of George to call him personally though.
He doesn’t need to be over animated he’s just naturally funny and the last thing he needs is an endorsement from George Lopez
hes not funny at all. just a latino pete davidson
@@Slacker4Life3 nahh Ralph is funny Pete is not. If you don’t care for his style move on
@@MuchoNoBueno he does comedy for white people and has humor like a white boy. you know we not fkn with that… you white washed hispanics fk with em though that’s all that matters
He’s not funny at all he’s cringe af
I'm not gonna lie I'm big into stand up and had never heard of Ralph til the Lopez thing. Glad I found him though he's great man
Just saw Ralph this past weekend and he is a future legend
George Lopez is One of the Best (If not the Best) Mexican Hispanic/Latino Comedians out there, Everybody Loves him, We Continue Supporting and Laughing at his Work, the only People that talk about him are the Haters. George Lopez did not Disrespect Barbosa, he was just Speaking in General, Barbosa spoke about it and understood the Situation... 🤦♂️
Who knew Jeremy Lopez even had a podcast 😂
I watched his Netflix show last night and I thought that it was very ingenious comedy. The whole skit about his girl was just really really great. He definitely has chops and that kind of comedy. That is so relatable to everybody is the type of comedy that’s going to endure for decades
Wow it really bothers George to give Ralph props
Why is George trying to shit on the kid? Pretending not to know he is and shit. They said he was selling out and George went "ok but where?"
Ralph is hilarious, and the fact that he is not a narcissist like most comics is even better
He’s just started. Give it time he’ll be like Tim Dillon
@@andy_182 Dillon has always been a narcissist.
Chapelle is right tho, that isn't stand-up that's a new way of youtube comedy 😂
Good for George. Maybe the "viejo" DNA was kicking in and just got the best of him or he was just having a bad day. Never under estimate the power of an apology.
What was the mention about carlos menciq at the end? Just wondering.
Gorge Lopez is big mad that he could never be as serious of a comic as this young cat Barbosa.
How old are you?
Lopez is a pioneer for Latino comedians tbh. Really put them on the map (along with a few others of course)
@@anthonyfletcher8053 you expect these new gen kids to know george’s career they just follow trends.
Between me and you guys. Ralph fell of faster than carlos mencia got cancelled.
He really was just some kid
I liked George's first standup specials
George Lopez has been irrelevant since the early 2000's. Why are we talking about this wash up?
Ralph is hilarious and is gonna be a superstar. SHULTZ just took his guy code appearances and turned it into his "SLIDE SHOW SHIT"
Ohh snap!!!
Shulz
George, I rooted for you when you were a Rockie comic, why the bad blood for Barbosa: what’s up with that, you remind me of the old saying about how us Latinos are like a bucket of crabs, one almost makes it out of the bucket and the others pull him back in; but other guys ( crabs) will push their brother out into the world to succeed, then maybe he will come back and rescue the rest of them.
I’m not very proud of you right now George Lopez!
I find Ralph to be mid af but Lopez is washed with hack stuff that he ran to the ground. Rooting for double KO
You're the first person with any sense on this video
You’re rooting for someone’s downfall? That says a lot about your character
Lopez is definitely Mexican, heavy on the envidia. Even if he didn't know of him (he did) why be so negative about some stranger.
Because it’s his show and he doesn’t want to share the spotlight.
Just saw him on Netflix. Omg he was hilarious. So chill and a great story teller. Ironic comedy. Loved it and I’m an Htown Indian American.
George called up Ralph, they talked and they connected. This guy just trying to refire the drama that is long gone.
Damn ngl until I saw this video I thought Lopez was a guest on the podcast 😂
Joe commented on the recent episode with Bert about comedians who hate on the new guys……but he seems to forget about the time Dave Chappelle essentially scoffed at Schulz’s comedy style on his Netflix show.
Bc Dave knows Shultz is a phony. He just gets by off crowd work, he’s a rich ass kid who’s been backed by his dads money, he was always gonna make it some how. That’s why Dave don’t fuck with him
Schulz is a hack. Him and his laughing hyenas are insufferable.
Classic example of forgetting where you came from AND stepping on those who are "beneath" you to try and keep them down.
Never thought Lopez would become a hater
Hes always been we r just now hearing about it
To be fair I just found out about Ralph.
George lopez is not funny.
LOPEZ is "COMFORTABLE"...NOT HUNGRY ANYMORE
I've known about Ralph Barbosa probably a year and he's made me laugh way more than the 25 years I knew about George Lopez dammmm George has no class WOW!!!!
You only figured that out now?? That was his schtick: who cares about finesse or showing a little class - he got his laughs (not mine really) from being crude.
Mr lopes treats Ralph like Erik Estrada treated him 😅
Most people don't even know Ralph. 😂
Exactly lmao until now
TH-cam is screwing with you for not blowing up yet. Feel sad for all the people missing out on drama this juicy
I'm 26 a first generation mexican American I never really found george lopez funny tbh even tho i understood and could relate to his jokes he wasn't all that funny
This man credits Joe rogan for every comedians success lol
#1 podcast in the world. If it didn't launch them, it definitely helped.
Steve Trevino seems like a good dude from all I’ve seen of him. Funny dude too
I think since George Lopez was the first really really mainstream Latino comic, he doesn't want competition, he wants to be the only Latino comic in America.
Is it an older Mexican man thing to never make public apologies? Mencia won’t and neither did Lopez 😂
Its called machismo and yes it is very much a thing.
Maybe they realize that performative public apologies accomplish nothing.
Chappelle is correct. Andrew is not funny and he cannot take criticism at all.
Damn fam you younger then 26? Got my 28 year old ass feelin old af 😂
There is No beef whatsoever with Ralph at all
He's been hating on other Latinos.
NEVER like Lopez. To each their own though.
There is 100% a possibility that he didn’t know who he is. Tf?
Lost respect for Lopez there.. Anyone who is into comedy or comic knows Barbosa
