The built in generator is an interesting idea for the truck camper crowd. Imagine having all night power without a hellaciously loud little rv generator constantly screaming away. Add in a lifep04 battery bank and the f150 wouldn’t have to fire up more than a few times throughout the night to top off. Great for boondocking!
Put that interior in the expedition and you’ve got a winner

The generator, the tailgate work station, still with my favorite feature....the ole man step! I'm 32 so I reallllly appreciate that still being there lol ford has knocked it out the park again, wow
Just drove the Ram bighorn last week (a rental) and I found it too busy buttons scattered everywhere the back up assist which I didnt realize was on the truck nearly gave me whiplash, the f150 looks like it has a better lay out and the horizontal screen looks perfect

I owned a 1988 F150 for 27 years. The body looked really nice but it seemed like every time I turned around something was breaking. I was paying new card notes in the form of repairs.
My wife has a Dodge Durango SUV. I liked the way it drove and road. I got the Mo-Par Max car warranty which covers over 5,000 things (things that wear weren't covered) but the mileage was 1,000,000 miles and it was transferable.
I bought the plan which I pay just $100 and they fix it. They do offer a no-deduction plan and a $200 deductible plan.
I believe the no-deduction plan covers everything, wind shield wipers, breaks, headlight and everything. That plan was about double of the $100 deductible plan.
With this in mind I bought a Dodge Laramie pickup (custom ordered) and I too got the Mo-Par Max Car warranty on it.
If it breaks down I get free towing, a loaner car and if I am out of town over 100 miles it pays for room and board and meals.
One thing about the Dodge RAM trucks is the in-floor storage area on the floor on both back seats.
I wonder some times if these car/truck engineers get together and decide among themselves what they are going to build for the next year.

My 2012 Ecoboost (extended cab, 8' bed, XLT) has averaged about 19 mpg (I don't usually drive it like I stole it). The 36 gallon tank nets me 700 on the highway if I don't stomp on it. I upgraded the suspension and the lights. Other than that I don't see the value of getting a new one and spending $50k plus regardless of how modern it looks.
Why didn’t they just use a column shifter?

1.5kwh is tiny for cars. The battery is strictly for fuel economy and launch torque. The power ports in the bed are powered by the engine, not the battery.
Edit: Plug-in hybrid vehicles usually have 13kwh or more and fully electric vehicles have 50khw or more
Legacy automakers are struggling to get their hands on enough batteries.
*Limited is the top for F150, not Platinum.
It would be nice to see reviews of the trims most people buy not the super rich

Is it me or are they changing the F-150 every two years now!
This is the first redesign in like 5 years or so. (Since whenever they started using the aluminum body) Everything in the last 5 years has just been cosmetic refreshes to that. The 2021 is a whole new truck, it just didn’t change the outgoing styling a whole lot.

I wonder how many people will work on your Tailgate? Specially the c-clamp thing, I think is useless other than for advertisement? even when people work on tailgate, most likely just small jobs, who will use c-clamp to slow you down.

Just looks like they tried to for as much of the ideas from other companies and tried to for them in the same old f150. Nothing stands out as revolutionary. Cool stuff but I guess if it's not broke let the electric trucks fix it.
90%+ of the body and interior is new. Ford just kept the traditional shape. Although your right, nothing revolutionary more like an evolution.
@@DriversOnly I think the only reason they didn't do a big overhaul is because typical f-series fans are old fashioned and will jump ship if they do a big overhaul like they did for the mach-e and fear is going to see ford fall as the truck market evolves. They are reactive instead of protective. And it's showing.

Unfortunately ford will lose me as a customer. I won't be buying a 2021 f150. I don't like the eco boost and ford is just killing the coyote with the cylinder deactivation and the stop / start crap. I'll have to keep my 2016 until I die or it does.
Forget about working in them engines.. no room..looks good...head lights still need to sink in...but over all it's nice.
