  • Learn how to setup the Sony a6000 for sports.
Check out my Sony a6000 Cheat Sheets 👉 cam.tips/a6000
Recommended Lenses for Sports/Action in Bright Sunlight:
    Sony 55-210mm f/4.5-6.3 OSS - amzn.to/2CjjRoj
    Sony 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 OSS - amzn.to/2S8Scfo
Recommended Lenses for Sports/Action in Low Light:
    Sigma 50-100mm f/1.8 with a MC-11 adapter (bhpho.to/2xk6uTZ / bhpho.to/2EzpT6v)
    Sony 70-200mm f/2.8 OSS - amzn.to/2R3tnUw
The Sigma 50-100mm f/1.8 can be adapted to the Sony a6000 with the help of a Sigma MC-11 adapter. This is the most "affordable" setup for low light sports/action and is best used for close range sports like basketball and volleyball. For low light sports at a distance, the Sony 70-200mm f/2.8 would be the best choice.
    Settings for Sports:
    1) Shutter Priority Mode (S)
    2) Start with a shutter speed of 1/1000
    3) ISO set to Auto
    4) Focus Mode set to AF-C
    5) Focus Area set to Zone
    6) Metering set to Multi
    7) White Balance set to Auto
    8) Drive Mode set to Continuous Shooting: Hi
In this tutorial, I show you my favorite in-camera settings for sports outdoors during the day on the Sony a6000. These settings will allow you to freeze fast action and come away with a sharp shot.

Thanks for the video! What are your thoughts on AF on the back button? I noticed in this vid it sounds like your AF is on the shutter button. Thanks!

Should Zone mode "lock-on AF Zone" mode be used or do you just use "zone"?

I only get the little green boxes when in Wide focus mode, not zone. Any suggestions why? I am using a sigma lens but not sure if that matters?

How do you move the zone around for the focus? When I push in the middle button, it brings up Lock On AF.

    • @tinagaicorearamaitii
      @tinagaicorearamaitii ปีที่แล้ว

You can undo the lock on af to bring back the af zone again by customize the button..go to Menu > image tab 2 > custom operation 1 > custom key (shoot) > custom button 3 > choose "focus standard"..
Custom button 3 is the "delete button"
Done..when you press the middle button, try press the delete button to bring back the zone again 😁

Hello thanks for the tip I have an A6000 with the 17-70 2.8 Tamron this is really fast for bsketball I shoot at Highschool here in Texas I allways use center but when I am under the goal using 17 mm what focus point should I use knowing the person is going to dunk do i just use live view and hope for the best and aim that direction becuase if I use the viewfinder I might get trampled over.
