Hey! Its nice to see new players still coming into world even after so long.
As for switch axe tips, there are a few ways you could play switch axe. The ones i found most fun or comfortable would be the zsd spam (zero sum discharge) or sword mode.
For zsd spam, the main goal is to always have amped state in sword mode and constantly latch onto the monsters with clutch claw to zsd. Then once the amped state disappears, get it back as soon as possible by using as many morph attacks as you can (this helps to build up sword gauge again as well). I like to do this while i have my rocksteady or temporal mantle on as it helps to keep you on the monster while you zsd.
If you want a less spammy playstyle then it would be swapping between axe and sword mode whenever necessary. Axe mode is faster and has more part damage, so for monsters like rathalos that poison you with its tail, you can use axe mode to focus the tail, to minimise the risks of getting carted from damage over time.
Sword mode has more dps but has less part damage, so if the monster has no parts you wish to break, sword mode is the way to go. I usually never use heavenward flurry, since i find it a little laggy, but if you want to build sword gauge its good to use. I usually loop between axe and sword mode attacks for my combo strings.
I always poke first, if the monster stays, i wild swing, then morph slash into sword, loop sword attacks until the sword gauge is about to finish then swap back to axe and rinse and repeat. Of course if there are safe times where you can zsd you're welcome to do so.
on another note, if you zsd after any sword swing, it comes out faster than if you zsd on the ground, so its udually better to either clutch claw first then zsd or swing then zsd.
A few general tips unrelated to switch axe though would be to try and find safer opportunities to tenderise monster parts. If you clutch claw at the wrong time it may end up with you taking lots of damage. Since you have rocksteady, you can use that to gusrantee a tenderise but it may harm you more than benefit you as it also means you won't get knocked off and have to tank the damage.
From what i can see though you're doing pretty good as is, remember practice makes progress and don't give up!
For now though, happy hunting! I hope to see you around someday on the servers :]

Thanks for the tips! I've mostly been spamming ZSD but I do want to incorporate axe mode a bit more and these tips are great for that, appreciate it! Happy hunting!

Sometimes the '10 views' TH-cam recommendations are bangers :3
Great to see new players still coming to the game. I love your character. Looks great with the scar.
Got no tips sadly I'm not a switch axe main but you're doing great. I just started fresh on PC with the Hunting Horn.
Looking forward to see the rest of your journey.

Thanks! Good luck with the Hunting Horn, I've never played it before, but it sure looks difficult!

@@Pearebus It's surprisingly simple once you get into it. At least in MH World with playing multiple songs at once and the encore mechanic it feels very nice.
No more holding up the team in the previous area for a minute straight to get all the songs off ;p
