I've tried about every soap under the sun and this is by far the best maintenance soap I have ever used! It takes very little, I use 2 ounces in my foam cannon and 1 ounce in 4 gallons of water, amazing stuff! Soooo much foam! Great video bro!
Gotta say that yours is the only U.S based detailing channel I subscribe to as it's "real world" car detailing and not just plugging sponsored products. Here in the UK there's a couple of others, Forensic Detailing Channel & Specky McSporran that are worth checking out. Good channel, good content, keep it going 😎
Phil H I appreciate that thank you! I love Jon at Forensics Detailing channel. Been following him since close to the beginning of his channel. had the opportunity to spend the day with him at the Turtle Wax event and he is a great guy. Had us all laughing our butts off.
I live in Norway, and our roads are heavily salted in the wintertime. I use this shampoo only in during the "salty-season", and and also use Carpro Elixir as a drying aid (after light airdrying). The two work like a charm keeping my cars paint well maintaned so that come spring the semiannual complete detail is a breeze. Kudos to Carpro, and obviously welcome to the party FAB ;) PS; in the summer i use different products as to maximise gloss, sacrificing some of the protection Carpro gives. I usually use Reset in my bucket still, but a different snowfoam (either sonax or bilt hamber) But Reset is just a VERY good shampoo, and certainly the best allround car shampoo i've come across so far :)
Love it i been using it for the last 2 years it foams up so nice and its cleaning properties is unmatched and best part is u can really do a touchless wash depending on how dirty ur car is...
Great, now I’ll have to add this to my car shampoo collection. Recently bought my first pressure washer setup from Obsessed Garage. Having a blast foaming the car. Glad you’re back to making videos Brian, missed them while you were busy with the move, finishing the garage, etc.
Longtime since I have watched any detailing channels or been on forums. Have just been taking a break from detailing LOL. I think that I've mentioned to you before on any car soap review. That my favorite car soap is Carpro Reset car soap. Have been useing it for about 3 years now and have still not found any better than Reset. The high cleaning ability from it and the high lubrication from it is just top notch. Since it's quite high priced I don't use it in the foamcannon. And also I'm more of useing a dedicated prewash foam than a car soap as the first step. Also since I'm able to be getting Bilt Hamber Auto-Foam it's the prewash foam quality that Reset is for car soaps. It's a little boring to be useing only one car soap. So the closest I have found to Reset. Is Tac System Mystic Bubble car soap that leaves nothing behind as in protection and glossenhancers. It's very close to Reset but dyed blue and a little higher smell from it. But really great as use as switch around to Reset. If you want to try a high quality car soap that leaves a little behind and mostly glossenhancers and very little ceramic. Is Angelwax Enigma Ceramic Infused Car Soap and it has a great cleaning ability from it and the lubrication from it is also really great and also high concentrated. Get you a little of a newly waxed look behind without interfear with the coatings. In the summer months I also dilute Reset weaker with around 1:800 dilution. And it still has a high performance from it. Maybe I'm getting the urge to get into the detailing game again LOL. More fun now when the roads are clear from the road salt. Great video and review!
Yes sir! Reload is my go-to shampoo for my vehicles. It used to be Ethos ceramic shampoo, which is great in and of itself, but somehow CarPro Reset beats it. Great, great shampoo! I’ve noticed though if you don’t get the windows dried off quick, it’ll leave tiny little dots of whatever is it the shampoo on the glass. Probably the Si02 in it. Super hard to get off; but I still love this product! You’ve great foam now as well!! Nice job FAB!!
I’ve been using this for a few months now on my ceramic wax coated Charger. It is a great shampoo and lubricity is the best I have seen. I also really like their Elixir detailer as well.
This is a very good soap. Great lubricity and cleans very well. However, I would ONLY use it on full ceramic coatings. Perfect for that. It’s very potent and would describe it as a “stripping” wash. It will degrade your typical wax/sealant. Full coatings can handle it.
I just started detailing and looking into some good soaps. Now, I’ve been noticing that most detailers use either Koch-Chemie GSF or CarPro Reset but yet i’ve been hearing the Reset shampoo is only meant to be used on ceramic coated vehicles on most videos or reviews. I just got a brand new 2021 so I plan to wash and take care of it. If I can’t use the Reset soap on it would the GSF be a good go-to?
The smell always reminded me of hairspray. Definitely can get away with 1 oz in the foam cannon and I'm usually washing two cars back to back and I'm still dumping a little bit back into the wash bucket after foaming the second one. Reset is stupid expensive and about the only negative you can give it, certainly one to catch by the gallon on a sale.
Brain from Apex & Pan seems to love the Carpro products, I wanna try them but the $$ gets me on some of it.. Love your opinion Fab.. Best foam I have EVER had/have is that foam party from Ethos & I have well water! Plus as they say, it's AMAZING in the sun & didn't leave water spots!
I have been using Reset for probably 2 years as the contact wash solution for all my client's cars. I use 30ml per 15 litres of water which foams up and is awesome to use.
I would recommend it more reset for vehicle already ceramic protected etc. this is basically reset over already protection. But carpro for sure makes some badass stuff
Except for a specific few products, I use mostly Carpro stuff. If you can't be bothered hunting around for stuff that just works better than most everything else, get Carpro.
Another great video and review Brian, definitely love CarPro reset and majority of there products. By far one of the best car cleaning soaps out there . Smells good, cleans well, glides and clings to the panels and a little definitely goes a long way. Thanks again
Hey Brian, Great video.. CP Reset is the best..! you hit every spot.. Cleans great.. smells great.. and what I like best is it rinses and leaves no residue. May sound crazy, on my personal vehicles I use a self concocted mixture of Angelwax FastFoam, Sonax Actifoam Energy, and Ethos Foam Party. Measured and mixed in different sized portions, that I put 2oz in the cannon with hot water as a Pre-Foam rinse. This mixture pulls the dirt of amazingly for a simple rinse, although I am forever mixing for that perfect combo. For my Touch wash nothing but CarPro Reset... Best car wash there is to date!
Brother, I like that you just use one bucket for all. The touch-less wash and rinsing already takes 99.9% of grime so there’s no need for two buckets. I’m glad that someone else thinks like me 😎
Awesome demo video Brian. I bought a few bottles when papa and apex used them. It’s in my top 3. Still love the ethos ceramic shampoo and the Adams regular blue soap. The reset wins for sure on only having to use 1.5oz to 5 gallons. That’s crazy.
Tip about the foam cannon if you want your soap thicker , change your orifice to a 1.1m that’s was make the soap pass through and come out the like , trust me change it won’t disappoint you
Coating is not gone. After shampooing with reset you need to clean it with car pro spotless. You will then see the coating is there. It looks like it is not in the video because you have many calcified drops from all the time it was not washed
RESET!!! Great video, this is my absolute favorite car soap. Are there other great soaps? Absolutely.. I find myself reaching right back for my Reset though! The Journey is still looking awesome! Interested to see what goes on it now!😁
Hey Brian, Reset is all I use in our shop. Like you I went many shampoos until Reset came out, it just cleans without leaving any residues behind and the lubrication is spectacular. As far as your coating is concerned, from the camera views, it's still there as you noted yourself, it just lost its hydrophobic abilities due to the elements. All you have to do is a chemical decontamination then apply Carpro Essense Plus or Estreme its called now and your good to go. The coating is brand new again. Just add your favorite topper. Just thought I'd offer some helping suggestions. Congrats on your place and the soft water treatment too. Some never know how far we go to make sure nothing but pure water touches there car.
hi, how to decontaminate ceramic coating and after decontamination should i just apply gyeon cure ? and all will be set ? and how often should one decontaminate it? do u recommend any products ?
I love reset although i dont know if it has a effect on certain sealants. Seems like if i use on my jeep with only a si02 sealant.. the water runs flat afterwards. With that said i use once a month on my Opti coated car with Beadmaker. Edit: I watched the whole video. Got me thinking in your case. I remember Optimum saying some APC’s/cleaners can “shock” their coating. Meaning water will run flat at first but the hydrophobics will return.
Ken-Jeeper I like it a lot also. I have seen soaps do that but I have noticed lately when it rains the Hydrophobic’s were pretty much gone. I polished it today and applied a new product.
Carpro Reset gave some nice foam. I have reset just need to try it. Looked slick for only 1.5 oz on the bucket. I like hearing the birds in the videos.
Thanks for the video Brian. We currently have the same gray metallic paint on our Dodge minivan. It was coated 9 months ago with CQ UK. So far its remained intact, maybe a little weakened on the tail gate. Look forward to seeing what you decide next. Would love to know if you find something that really makes that gray metallic pop and glow!
Can you still use this if your car isn’t ceramic coated? Mine has Wowo’s Crystal Sealant applied to it so wondering if this shampoo is safe to use. Thanks!
Yes Tech, I agree. Rinse first seems like a logical procedure to clean a very dirty vehicle. If car is not that bad and regularly maintained I have bypassed the pre-rinse. In some parts of the states water is expensive, so every gallon counts.
I don't know if i'd bathe in it. Just used some and it smells a bit like Heineken beer. Does foam like crazy with the power washer. it is slick as I clay barred the roof of the car during the contact wash. good stuff.
For me if you are going to use it as a pre wash it is far to thick to be effective i much prefer bilt hamber auto foam just amazing cleaning power but not thick at all which really is the point to carry the traffic film away
I have a Dodge Journey as well. Any suggestions on cleaning the vinyl stickers on the doors? Nothing I do seems to remove the oils from hands. 🤷🏼♀️ it looks crappy and I want to fix it.
Would prewashing, rinsing, applying the prewash again without rinsing and then doing the physical contact wash further reduce the risk of micro abrasions and marring as its multiple layer of soap between the mitt and the pain?
That looks great Brian I have griots carwash/ wash/ wax red/ purple big bottles at auto zone have to try out the foam cannon maybe have to try that for my customers/ myself so it's looks great video enjoyed your rest of yea day fab thanks for sharing it
Hey Brian, Do you suggest washing with Reset for every wash on a coated car? I only use PH balanced shampoos with zero sealants or waxes but Reset is expensive lol. If it's worth it for every wash then I have no problem using it. Every 5 washes or so I do use the Griots ceramic shampoo for a little boost.
so good.... I just opened my first bottle of Carpro Reset. used it in a foam canon..... what a sud. but I'll probably use something cheaper for foam canon prewash..... and use Carpro Reset for contact wash coz it's an expensive product. Can't wait for the coming weekend :)
That coating sucks man… I use Carpro compounds and I’ve been looking at there coatings because right now I use Gtechniq coatings and my soap won’t even stick to the vehicles and after hearing you say that your dodge is coated i made the decision to stick to the Gtechniq ultra instead.
Looks good Brian. Lot of people swear by it for sure. Now the coating is gone you get to play a little bit. On a side note have you thought about putting a clasp on the bottom mount of the flag? So when the wind blows you get that ding........
Camaro Time Thanks Pete! It is an awesome soap and my favorite I have ever tried. I still like my other soaps but this is by far the slickest I have used. I have thought about it and plan to do something in the near future.
@fab automotive detailing Hey Fab. I like to do maintenance to my adams ceramic spray coating halfway through its life, which is at about 6 months where I do a chemical decontamination. I was curious to know if I should use something like obsessed garage decontamination soap go help strip the junk and traffic film off the surface or if I should just use my normal soap which is Adams car shampoo. I’m just not sure if the decontamination soap will strip some of the coating. Thanks.
Different topic, but i was wondering how the patrol car that you had detailed for your buddy was holding up? Hopefully he knows how much time and energy you put into it that he is at least taking some type of care with it.
Patrick Campbell It lasted about 4 months. He has been washing it but in the tunnel unfortunately. I don’t blame him though since it’s not his personal car.
Humm am no expert but dunking your dirty mitt back into your soap solution is a very basic error sorry, I do Brian's technique of 3-4 mitts once it leaves the soap bucket...it goes into my finished bucket after I pass over the sections I wanted to...at the very least use your hose and rinse off your mitt before dunking it back with all that dirt :( .... I agree on reset love it (smells great). Video was excellent besides above. Cheers
Hermit Tanimoto I use the Dirt lock filter in my bucket that traps the dirt at the bottom of the bucket. I have washed with one bucket for years and have never had a problem with wash induced scratches. I understand what you are saying but i have washed that car probably 30 times since we bought it new and you won’t find a single swirl mark on it. Thanks I think it’s an awesome soap also!
Awesome stuff for Ceramic coating. Lots of foam for 1 and a half ounce, impressive! Does it smell like Irish spring? Thanks FAB Automotive Detailing family Xoxo from Puerto Rico 👍🇵🇷
Adams can be used in the sun while Reset cannot (at least their directions say not to let it dry in the sun). This most likely means PH is different for both and means Reset has a little better cleaning power, which is why its a favorite soap for coated vehicles or for those looking to deep clean the paint finish without molesting the wax/sealant/coating.
ORANGEJUICE JONES Yes it is better then Adam’s in my opinion. Adam’s was my number 1 but not anymore. I have not tried it in the sun. That’s the nice thing about Adam’s.
I just used Adam's Ultra Foam Shampoo for the first time a couple of weeks ago and made that my current go-to shampoo as the results were amazing. Also used a foam cannon for the first time with that wash. It's good to see you detailing again. I look forward to seeing the next phase of what you do with this vehicle. You're probably thinking, should I use this product or how about that product. The results will be great whatever you use.
@@FABAutomotiveDetailing you should do a video on how many drive threw car washes does it take to strip a ceramic coating ..i havent seen a torture test like that before ..
If there's a better visual intro to a video I've yet to see it. I thought Adams Shampoo and Griots Surface Wash had major lubricity. I'll have to pick some up.
Mark Soucie Thank you! I think the flag waving and birds chirping is awesome. This has more lubricity then both of them. I still like them but this just took the top spot.
FAB Automotive Detailing To me it's a way of developing a unique professional identity that people will remember. Go with it. It worked for Paaaaaan the Organizer right? 🤣
@@FABAutomotiveDetailing I thank you sir, I’m going to give it a try because I see rave reviews about it. I usually use Adam’s car shampoo, which I really like, but I always like trying different products. Have you seen CarPro Lift? I believe it’s a new snow foam prewash. Ph is a little higher, but it looks interesting. Thank you for the reply and nice vids 👍👍
Great video bro! I fully agree. That’s why it’s my top shampoo along with Adam’s Car Shampoo.
@Camaro 1968Pan "the advertiser!!!"
Only for ceramic you say though. I bought it without knowing that.
@@lockergr The lubricity I believe makes it great for a regular maintenance wash with or without a coating also but am just an weekend enthusiast...
@Pan TheOrganizer
How does it compare with Gyeon Bathe Plus.
Question for you Pan & Fab do you find this better then Adam’s or?
I've tried about every soap under the sun and this is by far the best maintenance soap I have ever used! It takes very little, I use 2 ounces in my foam cannon and 1 ounce in 4 gallons of water, amazing stuff! Soooo much foam! Great video bro!

Yes the foam is good and it’s real slick. Never clayed with it so I might have to try that now. Thanks for the Info!
Dude reset is GREAT I recently decided to start stocking the Carpro line to take care of my coated car as well as customers.
Bel Lavoro Auto Spa Man I love it! They have great products.
For me if you are going to use it as a pre wash it is far to thick to be effective i much prefer bilt hamber auto foam just amazing cleaning power but not thick at all which really is the point to carry the traffic film away
I agree! I like Griots Garage Foaming Surface Wash as my pre wash.
Old comment I know but foam cannons are adjustable you know
I have a Dodge Journey as well. Any suggestions on cleaning the vinyl stickers on the doors? Nothing I do seems to remove the oils from hands. 🤷🏼♀️ it looks crappy and I want to fix it.
With your foam cannon do you have the 1.1 mm orifice in it. I have a 1800 psi washer with 1.2 gpm and don’t get that think of foam.
Would prewashing, rinsing, applying the prewash again without rinsing and then doing the physical contact wash further reduce the risk of micro abrasions and marring as its multiple layer of soap between the mitt and the pain?
That’s how I do it a lot of times especially on maintenance washes.
That looks great Brian I have griots carwash/ wash/ wax red/ purple big bottles at auto zone have to try out the foam cannon maybe have to try that for my customers/ myself so it's looks great video enjoyed your rest of yea day fab thanks for sharing it
Robert Knapp It is great! Thanks man
Hey Brian, Do you suggest washing with Reset for every wash on a coated car? I only use PH balanced shampoos with zero sealants or waxes but Reset is expensive lol. If it's worth it for every wash then I have no problem using it. Every 5 washes or so I do use the Griots ceramic shampoo for a little boost.
PH Neutral soaps are fine for coatings.
What pressure washer are you running?
so good.... I just opened my first bottle of Carpro Reset. used it in a foam canon..... what a sud.
but I'll probably use something cheaper for foam canon prewash..... and use Carpro Reset for contact wash coz it's an expensive product. Can't wait for the coming weekend :)
Yes it is good! I always foam with a cheaper soap.
Another amazing video, and great results 😇 Thank you for sharing.
Luis Lebreux Thank you and you are welcome!
Do you have a link on the car brush with extender stick and the towel ?
Did you use a different soap for the wheels and tires? Or just used the carpro reset?
I use a wheel and tire cleaner like Xtreme Solutions The Juice or Brake Buster from P&S.
That coating sucks man… I use Carpro compounds and I’ve been looking at there coatings because right now I use Gtechniq coatings and my soap won’t even stick to the vehicles and after hearing you say that your dodge is coated i made the decision to stick to the Gtechniq ultra instead.
this made me buy it. Amazon is finally shipping to my country (for free!) Cheers from Manila
Awesome! You will love it
Looks good Brian.
Thanks.
John Durantini I would just use an iron remover then do a normal wash. OG Decon soap would probably work fine also.
Thanks for the video good soap..a lot of good reviews
BeerMe2 Enjoy You are welcome! It’s a great soap. Thanks
Does Reset strip and Waxes or Sealants on the vehicle brother?
It can if you use to much but with proper dilution ratios it’s safe.
Is the product supposed to remove your ceramic coating or just maintain it?
It’s just to clean a ceramic coated car. It has no protection or enhancers in it.
Great video brian do a VS with ethos ceramic shampoo
Carlos Lopez Thanks! I might be able to do that.
No rinse bucket?
Awesome stuff for Ceramic coating. Lots of foam for 1 and a half ounce, impressive! Does it smell like Irish spring?
Thanks FAB Automotive Detailing family
Xoxo from Puerto Rico 👍🇵🇷
Humberto Roche Garcia No not Irish spring it is hard to explain what it smells like. You are welcome
Is this soap good for cars without a ceramic coating?
Yes it is!
you need to apply some reload as well.
Is it better than Adams car wash shampoo in your opinion? How is it in the sun?
I love the Adam’s, its ph neutral and has no additives. Can dry on your car to avoid water spotting and rinses clean off very easily
Directions say to donne panel at a time 😮
I have this stuff...works great and smells good!
giants22 It is a great soap for sure.
The results will be great whatever you use.
kawtriples Foaming is fun for sure. I have Adam’s Ultra foam but haven’t used it yet. Thanks I just applied the product today so stay tuned.
Does the product remove wax coatings?
Yes it will. Its good from prepping for a wax or as a ceramic coat cleaner.
what do you use for contact wash? reset?
Yes it is a great product for pre wash and wash.
maybe the automatic wash you did with their high ph soaps stripped your coating
Those soaps shouldn’t take off a true ceramic coating plus I only used it 2 times over that winter.
@@FABAutomotiveDetailing you should do a video on how many drive threw car washes does it take to strip a ceramic coating ..i havent seen a torture test like that before ..
@@jimgee2676 That would interesting. I would have to get a car I don’t care about to do that though cause it’s gonna swirl it up.
Hey did you change your foam cannon hole to 1.1mm ?!
Yes I did
@@FABAutomotiveDetailing
and the filter? has it changed or was it just the orifice?
@@eduardofolha8415 Just the orifice
That thing looks really great.
Michael Campbell Thanks man! Hope you are doing better.
I just did DI5533 👌🏻
FAB Automotive Detailing something about "let's do it" too. 👊🏻
Mark Soucie Sweet! You will love it. “Let’s do it” just kinda came out on a video and I just stuck with it. 😂
FAB Automotive Detailing To me it's a way of developing a unique professional identity that people will remember. Go with it. It worked for Paaaaaan the Organizer right? 🤣
Great Review!
Good video like always
What coating was on the car?
Keith Firebird Adam’s First Paint Coating.
Idk how long ago ur “ceramic coating” was applied but if it can’t last a winter , that’s not a real ceramic coat.
I like reset but I think it strips everything off in my usage
It can if you much is used!
Is this shampoo safe on coatings, waxes etc etc? I'm seeing a lot of conflicting reports
At the correct dilution ratio absolutely! It’s designed to be used on ceramic coatings but can be used on sealants and waxes.
I need to make sure this is good enough for my 130,000 car
Oh .. and one is lying if they say they use the actual 1.35 oz instead of 1.5 oz 😂
Ken-Jeeper I agree 💯! 😂
All I use on customer's c cars.
